How many times has someone or some group predicted the end of the world? They sell everything they have, spend their money on supplies and head to the hills in anticipation of the end. Where does this kind of idiotic belief come from? Who starts this kind of rumor? Well, unfortunately, it only takes one to get the ball rolling. The rolling ball this time is about the world ending in 2012.
Secret alien extraterrestrial communication related to 2012? This is what the article says, and it relates to the Mayan calendar. The whole Mayan mystery is a very deep subject, but suffice it to say that the Mayan's calendar ended with the year 2012. After a number of attempts to understand why this is, I was more confused than ever. My point here is not about the Mayans, but about where in the world did this "secret alien extraterrestrial communication" come from? The article offers absolutely no proof or documentation on this very important point. Anyway, the world won't end in 2012 because the Mayan calendar stopped there, and even if it does, what are we going to do about it?

The thing that scares everyone about the end of it all is control. We have no control over what happens to this earth but yet we are destroying it. I am no tree hugger. Nothing is going to happen in 2012. There is no Mayan prophecy about 2012. In addition to the Chol Qij the Mayans have various other calendar counts of lesser mantic importance. One of these is the Long Count, which is a continuous count in days since August 9th, 3114 BCE. The Long Count will reset to zero-zero-zero-zero-zero on December 21, 2012. This is just a major calendar change – their equivalent of Y2K – with no more spiritual significance than the change of millenium had for us. Basically we’re having a “New Age” Y2K scare.

One thought for today. If I predicted 50 events that would happen in the future and only one came true, then I suspect no one would be impressed. Actually it wasn’t just the Mayans at all. Many other prophets and the like also prophesied this date, most prominently is an interpretation of the ancient Chinese book “I Ching” and of these point to that exact date. I am not saying that the world is going to end, I’m merely saying its not one piece of evidence saying that. The Mayan calender didn’t just end on that date, it predicted to return of Quetzalcoatl. Their calender was more precise than ours and this “not having enough time to finish it” is nonsense. They predicted things like lunar eclipses exactly to the day centuries before they’ve ever occurred as well as many other things that occurred. Many say that the vagueness of the prophets is their trick but one who predicted the world’s end predicted things like the Virginia colony in America by NAME. I have never heard of any alien connection until now, and that sounds far fetched. I wouldn’t recommend doing anything differently when that date comes, even it it is the end of the world, ITS THE END OF THE WORLD and if you were to hide what would it do? As Bill noted, the Bible tells us that it is not for us to know the day that the world will end. Even Jesus proclaimed that even He did not know. So, will the world end in 2012? I don’t know, and neither does any other being other than God Himself. People like physicist David Hathaway believe that due to the sun reversing poles in 2001, we are at our solar max and because of the rare alighnment of 2012 the suns poles will reverse back and earth will start spinning the other way, causing devistation of unknown proportions. This will act like a giant magnet, causing all of the earths iron deep in the earths core, rip to the surface, releasing gases and minerals into the atmosphere, causing earthquakes, hurricanes, and tsnamis. Everyone will parish.

I have to agree with some people, when they discuss how it has been previously predicted, not just the year 2000 & the year 2006, 2007… When my Mum was a kid, it was predicted, when my Grandad was a kid, it was predicted. I’ll admit, I’m afraid. But I love God & he will keep those deserving of it safe! If anything, we bring about our own end. Not some fantastic lie about something we’ve never heard of. i’ve read numerous predictions about the world ending in 2012, especially ones talking about December 21st, predicted by Mayans, the Bible, a prophet, NASA, and some others and the launching of the atom-smasher. It was enough to get me to discredit two predictions i made up.
Prediction A: 15,000,000 years from today, a black hole, distant from us today, would eventually wonder into the solar system, seeing how they move through space, and suck up at least three planets in it’s path, along with the sun, and one of the three planets being Earth, though there is no specific order.
Prediction B: Since scientists are curious as to the past of our own planet with all the dinosaurs, clones, atom-smashers and that jazz, they would eventually screw something up in their experiments that would bring an apocalypse. in this case, it would be bringing dinosaurs back from extinction to try to see if they truly lived. They would eventually mutate and bring a plague all over the planet, eventually ending the world in 630 million years.
People listen something will happen but noone will know when, remember this history always repeats itself.

I just actually heard about this world coming to an end thing the other day and had to see what the supposed date was, it really makes me laugh because, as was said before there have been so many so called predictions that have never come true. It seems that today we are in the next to last stage of this chain; now is a good time to actively work for the reestablishment of the Muslim state and Khilafah.

“Isa (Jesus) will come at the time of Al-Dajjal and al-Mahdi as well. He will descend at the time of Fajr prayer on a masjid in Damascus, the capital of Syria. He is of medium height, red-faced, and his hair is as if he just took a shower. He will call people back to Islam, but he will also be a military leader. The People of the Book will revert to Islam, and wealth will be super-abundant. Isa will break the cross, kill the swine, and personally slay Al-Dajjal. He will stay on Earth for a long time thereafter, and then die.”
“An animal will come and call people back to Islam.” [A partial description of this animal is that it is very hairy, so much so that one will not be able to tell its front from its rear (Arabic: 'Dab-ba'). Reference to this animal is mentioned in the Qur'an.]

This list is far from complete; there are many other signs. A couple more of interest are: Constantinople (Istanbul) will fall before Rome to Islam (note that this means Rome will indeed fall), and the Muslim political system will go from Prophetic leadership to a just Khilafah to a ‘biting’ authority to an oppressive authority and finally back to a just Khilafah. It seems that today we are in the next to last stage of this chain; now is a good time to actively work for the reestablishment of the Muslim state and Khilafah.
Finally, the Prophet has said that when the Signs start to come, they will come FAST – like a string of beads falling one after the other.

Well I am wondering about that too and ya see some people are scared well I was scared but now I’ve calmed down and I think maybe it won’t end because people said the World would end on Y2K 2000 and said the computers would shut down but it didn’t and the World didn’t end either and they said the World would end 3 years ago on 666 but it didn’t either so I wonder why people have a strong predection on 2012?
I know It says it on the Mayans Calander and they could be wrond too. Who knows what could happen.
Well we well all just have to wait and see what happens on 2012.
I believe the World will end when Jesus Christ comes back to Earth and they Bible says Jesus Christ can return any day now.

I have been scared for a while now. Every day i think about this. It makes me feel weak and like i am going to burf. I have been looking alot about this and some things that stuck to me was that the world will not end. The bible says that god only nows the end of the world. It said no one knows because he did not want us to worry. He wont suddely tell someone,and secondly why are we even bleiving this. No affence to the Mayans but they believed in many different things. Like they had many gods. The sun god ect. Hey that sounds familiar. The sun is suppose to end the world huh.

I do not know when the end is coming, but something appears to be happening…
The poles are not only melting on earth, but every planet in our solar system appear to be warming..
Also the magnetic fields are weakening, and the magnetic poles are moving further and faster than they have ever have done in the past..
Also they are now finding in many places where cities that once existed are now under water.
And also they have found tropical pants and animals quick frozen in siberia arctic areas,with tropical plants frozen in there throats..
These things say to me that this could happen again..
We have no real safe guards built in to our way of life..
Things as simple as ice storms have shut down everything for a long time..
Also gas lines cross this country; that likely heat 90% of the homes and businesses, and earth quakes could easily destroy the delivery of that gas..
Both those commodities are interdependent.
Just think about it,, If the power grid went down,, how would life be for you..?
No electricity,, your furnace would not work,, and you could not get gas from the gas station because it takes power to get it out of the pumps..
Oil refineries also need electricity to run and so on..
No stores would be open because the tellers can not add without a computer any more.. And even if they tried to stay open by counting on there fingers and toes,,nothing would be in those stores because everything would be closed..
Also our magnetic fields are getting weaker on this earth, and a power surge caused by the sun could wipe out almost all our electronics..
Just look at what a small power surges do to equipment, and if we got a surge all electronics that were on would be instantly toasted..
Never mind even destroying anything in your home ,, just take away your power right now..!!
It is night time and I am sitting in the basement right now, and if the power goes out I have trouble finding my way up stairs,, never mind the furnace will be out and I am going to be almost frozen by morning if I sit and wait..!!
What would I do.?? Sit in the car and keep warm till the gas ran out.. Then what..
All the food in the house would soon be froze, and the water lines would freeze and break.. Everything would be right under your nose and of no use to you..
Even if you had oil in a oil tank and a generator to run the furnace,, that would end at the end of the tank of oil or gas.
In the past I followed the physic so called seers, and nothing happened.
Sure there are things in the Bible that talk about disasters that will shake this earth and kill almost all man..
Some people take the Bible in blind faith, but I wanted more proof.

Do you have a supply of food and water, and lots, and lots of candles..?
And going a bit more long term,, if we did make it through a winter without any help, how would we get through another year..
Would we have ways to find or grow food? And would we have the knowledge about how to grow things, and have seed to grow it..
Where would we get the stuff and the knowledge to survive..
And how would we cut the wood for next season,, with a buck saw like they use to,, because a chainsaw runs on gas that we would not have..
It would not be fun, I’m sure..!!!
There would be no communications,, and who would you want to contact,, other starving people who would kill for what you had..?
And in the warm countries, if they got a freeze where the frost went a few inches into the ground everything would be destroyed, because there water lines are mostly all exposed..
The people in Florida almost die with a cool wind..

the theory that the world will end in 2012 is assonine and is an utter myth. the mayan claendar ended when it did because the so called “date counters” had become superfluous in mayan society and the civilization itself had begun to dissolve. naturally, such date counters stopped with a logical date decemcer 21st- the date of the summer solstice during tradition years (as in not a leap year). also, if the poles were to switch, they would have already begun a long time ago. this is not a instantaneou process. i rest my case.
