Valentich UFO Case
Monday April 17, 2006
In 1978, one of the most mysterious cases involving a UFO and an airplane/pilot disappearance occurred in Australia. This case has well stood the test of time, and become a permanent fixture in UFO case files. There have been several other cases of UFOs and pilots being lost, most notably the Mantell and Gorman cases of 1948, and the Felix Moncla case of 1953. Gorman was the only pilot of the three who lived to relate his experience. The Valentich account is quite unique in that the UFO flew very close to him at one time, and he very clearly stated he was NOT seeing an airplane. What was this UFO exactly, and what was its mission?
Paul Norman's take on Valentich is a really compelling piece of writing and brings us some new facts about this mysterious case. Norman tells us that although it has been said that other UFO reports made that day were attributed directly to Valentich's incident, this was not the case at all. A more in depth investigation reveals that the area where Valentich disappeared was in the middle of a UFO wave, which seemed to peak on the day the young pilot was lost. There were many reports of UFOs before the day of the pilot's report, and they continued for a time after the Valentich case. I hope you will enjoy the article as much as I did.
