An Abductee's Film
Wednesday November 15, 2006
Jeremy Vaeni is a columnist at UFO Magazine. He is much like the other writers, except for one very important thing. He believes that he has been abducted by aliens, and now has documented his own story in a film titled, "No One's Watching: An Alien Abductee's Story." This is certainly one way to get your point across. His film was first aired in March of this year at Two Boots Pioneer Theater in Manhattan. His efforts only cost him about $500.00, and it debuted before only about 30 people. He documented his everyday life as an abductee, and just a regular person. He states that:
"If I were looking at this, I would be skeptical too," referring to an audience member's question as to why he didn't really try to prove his story in the film. "I just wanted to focus on waking people up and make them question what reality's about."
Wake Up and Question Reality by By Kate Mammolito, gives Vaeni's whole story. The first half of his film tells of his great love, Jenny, but then he breaks up with her. But, he explains to the audience that it was all scripted, and he just paid an actress to fill the role. He does discuss his abduction in the film, telling us that the last time it happened was in October of 2001. He does not believe that being an abductee makes him anything special, but it was just a matter of being in the wrong place at the wrong time. He recounts his early life experiences which began at the young age of 13, when he saw his first UFO. Then, only two years later, he was visited in his bedroom by an alien being, and since then, he has experienced strange visual and auditory sensations, like staring for hours at the same thing, like a curb on the street. No...I'm not making this up. If you don't believe his story, don't feel bad, even his parents think he is loco. This may be all you ever know about Vaeni. Don't hold your breath...this film won't be coming to a theater near you anytime soon.

I would like to se this film. How can I get a copy of it?
If we can watch the crud they put on T.V., shows about wars of the past with now Iraq and all the trimmings. If you know what I mean! VERY SAD!….(NOTE-To all of our troops!WE DO LOVE YOU ALL!Our troops and those of the past are all HEROES and will NEVER be forgotten…!) then, watch murder shows on T.V.( Like it is something we have to learn!) about sick sadistic people,no wonder why this crud is happening!!DUMB! I could never figure this out..Quote(There has got to be something better to watch on T.V.don’t you all think?)
we surly won’t be hurt by seeing a abduction of a person by a UFO if it is done with taste and really with taste. I find it very brave for anyone,to put something you believe might help people come to terms: That we may not be alone after all! I also think it is brave to know there are people
who would do this knowing…
there are those who would laugh at this ..I prefer to look at it as a gesture of good will on this persons side and I would not find any of it funny. With all the stuff that is out there about UFO sightings ect….Can anyone honestly say..QUOTE{There is not anything..Not even something weird going on?}To me that would be nuts and a big freaking joke!
I beleive in the aliens and the whole thing that the US gov’t knows. I, too, have been abducted and know the feeling of fear, wonderment and also being looney. But from the Aztecs, to the American Indian, the Irish, the Egyptians and the Bible…….all have told us that we are not alone in this universe. The ponderance of evidence would overwhelm any jury to the reality of another race either from another”universe” or another planet or another Spirit world or plane of existance. Logic and well scientific study have proved this time and time again. A lot of people do not beleive that Yeshua came to earth 2000 years ago. Yet HE clearly said that,”In my Fathers house there are many Mansions.”
Yep! It’s all in the written in the words!Every different Bible, all religions and faiths,Scripts or Scrolls has something about the stars and whats up there and It’s just to big of a Unviverse to think anything else!I have never been abducted, but I have seen and know of some weird stuff and know a lot of people who have also and worked with the goverment and claim that they have seen some stuff they are not to talk about.I don’t think they give bull stories either! The truth will come out someday, always does!
I would be interested in viewing this film and drawing my own conclusions. I am in no position to judge whether Mr. Vaeni is an actual abductee, but one cannot discount the possibility that something of this nature could be fabricated.
Recall the “contactee” craze of the 1950’s, wherein all manner of people claimed to have been taken aboard ET vehicles and given rides to planets all over the galaxy. The aliens were almost universally described as “space brothers”, and they generally bore a warning to us terrestrials about our impending self-destruction. This seemed to echo the context of the times we lived in back then, when the specter of the “A-bomb” hovered over all of us.
Nowadays, the aliens are described as grey, and somewhere between humanoid and insectoid in appearance. Without intending to impugn anyone who feels that they have been abducted, one must wonder whether the context of the current times has some bearing on this.
I am certain that at least some of the reported abductions have occurred. Betty and Barney Hill are the flagship case for this probability, and there are numerous others that seem to stand the test of serious scrutiny. But as with the accounts of the contactees of the 1950’s, no doubt there are many fabricated and imagined abduction incidents being passed around.
So in the interest of circumspection, I would like to see Mr. Vaeni’s film. However, I reserve judgment on his statements.
“wrong time and the wrong place” rarely is the case. Most abductees are tracked from cradle to grave and even from family generation to generation. If this gentleman has read a few books on alien abduction or just read John Mack’s book - he would know that.
Jeremy IS brave!
I have even turned on the TV, watched channels like DISCOVERY and SCI FI…only to see quite respectable people I have incurred in my life through work and other endeavors and THEY are bravely discussing their abductions & missing times. Very strange, in that I spent time with these folks at various times in my lifetime, never relaying to them that I have been an abductee/contactee, myself, from a very early age. What are the chances that I would meet these individuals from all over the country, under all sorts of circumstances, and they later came forward in a public venue and we never “shared” our secrets, together?..we never knew about each other’s secrets. The odds of winning a major lottery seem greater OR something larger is at work.
I have not come forward before this. Folks, it is not about “do you believe”..in my realm, it is the same as asking someone, “do you believe in oxygen..” LOL…it is simply a fact of life. Sociologically, I am growing intrigued by the impact it has on the many who have “lived in the closet”, so to speak, and the effect it has on those in THEIR families/realms..
Think on this, at the age of 4 yrs., you turn to the ones that you most trust, your loving parents, asking (while they bathe you in a tub, ie) about the possibility that you keep having the same “dream”..that the same lil’ man keeps visiting you; that he touches you and that you travel above your town and you can even travel through solid walls and structures; that he talks to you and never has to move his little lips!..that you both talk with only your minds; that he glows and comes to you in a giant, glowing “tambourine”?
Your Mom just laughs nervously, tells you that, “no, hon, that is not possible,” with a far away look in her eye (decades later you find that she knew all along, being an abductee, herself, and now, she is aware that she is unable to protect her children.) And your Dad has a top government clearance, a big job in Washington, so HE wants no part of these conversations…and so, the REAL cover up begins. You close your mouth, becoming a silent observer, telling no one. How can you? When you try, it never goes well…You grow to hold a position of respect in your community, but you always feel different, on the outside looking in..and sometimes, folks feel this odd distance, But never know why…
Or maybe, your visitor becomes a friend, of sorts, very close..and relates “things” to you, further alienating you and making you aware of how small the Earth really is, even some thoughts on why and how Man maybe came to be…some future information. And warning you to tolerate the “others” (I guess they are labeled the repitilians.) And you now know all of this before even starting SCHOOL..
Guys, One IS impacted, for through KNOWING eyes, your fellow humans appear so concerned with the daily & mundane. I suspect that some abductees appear quite disturbed…even have Post Traumatic Stress for their entire lives…maybe being labeled bi-polar or schizophrenic; some might appear to have inappropriate behavior-like sexual abuse victims; perhaps, many are not capable of developing normal, loving family units, for it is very difficult growing close when one lives in that closet…and knows that THEY CAN COME AT ANY TIME..and NO ONE can protect you..
I am sitting here thinking about the unique possibility of conducting a solid sociologic study..and yet, for most of humanity, this is a huge question mark…a source of debate, only beginning to become mainstream.
Even in this “Club”, I have yet to read of a close, near-familial relationship between an alien and a human..this is the stuff of Hollywood. So even here, I personally, stand further apart from my closeted peers.
ABDUCTION-Not a reality???..or could it actually be. Jeremy, do you believe in “oxygen?”…do the rest of you? (”Knowing smile..”)

Hey, someone tipped me off to this review. As ego maniacal as I am I decided to read it and respond. First, thanks all who want to see it. I’m still waiting for the DVD deal to kick in so as of now it’s in limbo. However, if you’re in the New York area next June it will definitely be playing at a theater near you as I’m helping organize a one-of-a-kind ufo film & arts fest around the Kenneth Arnold Sightings Anniversary. (Hopefully it’ll be available before then, though!)
Now as to the article I just wanted to clear a factual thing or three up: 1.) I don’t sit around for hours watching curbs and stuff in visions. I was going through a period of having these useless slice-of-life visions (of which that was one) but they only last a few seconds. I don’t know why this happened but I suspect it was part of a larger process that blah-blah-blah…long story; I’ll tell it to you some other time.
2.) I don’t really think I was abducted because I was in the wrong place at the wrong time. If I said that at the Q & A I was either joking or trying to stear clear from the “It’s happening to me because I’m special” trap. On the one hand, there is a deeply personal aspect to this. On the other, I don’t know if that developed over time as would with any random interraction of this type. In other words, we may develop something of a relationship that makes the abductee feel special or chosen in some way, but that feeling may be a miscue. The origin of the relationship could be that we’re part of a random sample of humans. Hell, it could be something so strange we can’t comprehend it. I just know I don’t feel special in that “I have something you don’t” kind of way because this isn’t the product of psychological dysfunction, this is real and far more comlex.
3.) My parents don’t think I’m loco. Actually I asked my dad once why they haven’t locked me away and he said “Because I want to see what happens next.” He was joking, of course.
I don’t know what this reviewer’s take is on the subject of abductions but generally, where the interview with my family (especially my mom and sister) are concerned, people who don’t believe (or haven’t experienced) view that material as proof that I’m nuts or proof that what I’m saying is a lie–because there’s my mom saying she doesn’t believe it’s aliens, right?
But to me, and to others like me, those interviews clearly demonstrate a family in denial. Mr. Reviewer, really look at what they said: They all AGREED THAT THOSE EXPERIENCES HAPPENED TO THEM, they just haven’t bothered to, refuse to, or perhaps simply don’t care to contextualize them in terms of a PATTERN. And I sit here thinking, ‘My god, how can you not? Are you crazy or willfully blind?’
Further evidence that they are in denial is my mother’s behavior toward my claims that the abductions continue to happen. She acts as if this is news to her. I still don’t get that. How can that be? It’s not like I told her, “Okay, ma, I want to interview you for this movie about that alien nonsense I used to talk about in high school” and then surprised her with this revelation that it’s not nonsense and is still happening.
I WROTE A FRIGGEN BOOK ABOUT IT THAT SHE READ FOR F-SAKE! WE’VE HAD CONVERSATIONS ABOUT ALL OF THIS PRIOR TO THE INTERVIEW! HOW AM I THE CRAZY ONE IN THIS EQUATION? IS IT THE CAPS? IT’S THE CAPS, RIGHT?
Okay, better?
Granted I’m no psychologist but I don’t think it takes one to see that the only logical explanation for her behavior here (and that of my sister) is denial. Unless she’s stricken with Alzheimer’s, she’s suffering from denial. That denial may simply be a product of embarassment or something similar. Or maybe it’s the real deal: denial of the fact of the pattern of UFO/abduction experiences in both of our lives.
Listen, I used to allow for the possibility that this is all in my head and I’m suffering delusions or something along those lines. I’m no longer open to that. Too much has happened in so many ways that it’s broader than the word “abduction.” If there is a delusion taking place then it can only be something akin to what Whitley Strieber proposed in his book Communion: perhaps this is what the face of evolution looks like when it’s applied to the human mind.
That might turn out to be the case. Certainly I am evolving into something that, prior to it happening in 2001 (and here I’m referring to an energy in me that may not be directly related to abductions, though what a coincidence if it isn’t), I would have made fun of anyone claiming what I claim. I have an extremely low tolerance for belief and BS. Someone mentioned contactees–yeah I’m no fan either. I have no time for starry-eyed New Age garbage. It’s insulting and it IS delusional.
In fact I’m yer typical wise-cracking gen-x cynic who also happens to have this other “crazy” thing going on. I do know something you don’t: Humans are so much more than we currently understand and we’ll never understand it with logic alone for it transcends logic. Because it transcends logic, it looks illogical. The logical mind cannot categorize that which transcends it any other way; there’s no other reference point.
Does that make me feel superior? Pious? No. It makes me sad. The sky is falling. Your house is on fire. You sleep and mull over whether abductions are real, whether I’m telling the truth. Really, who cares? You know in your heart of hearts that humans are more than we understand because you are one. Maybe you’ve buried that or channelled it into something else: art…religion…atheism…whatever it is. Not important. What’s important is that if true–and you know it’s true because you ARE it–and humanity does not realize its full potential, what happens to us? What becomes of a species that does not actualize its purpose or gets stunted in its growth?
Well? You ever watch the Discovery channel? Think we can go on as we are for much longer?
THAT, not my sanity, honesty, not abductees, not aliens, THAT, I submit to you is the only question worth asking at this point in our short history.
