I believe you misunderstood my comments about abductees feeling like they are victims. In my article I said explicitly that this attitude disturbs me, and I think of it as fatalistic. I do not believe the Andreassons see themselves as victims, and those that do are missing the point that they have the ability to come to grips with the experience, and may even gain something from it.
What I'm suggesting is that witnesses and experiencers need to step back from all this and examine it from the context of their relationship with their own existence. If you spend some time with my blog, you will see I'm a man of faith -- an unconventional faith perhaps, but faith nonetheless. Things happen for reasons, and I do not mean that in a judgmental way. God, after all, does not play dice.

Thank you Daniel for clearing that up. I too am a man of faith, and I certainly agree with your comments. It seems to me from many of the abduction cases I have researched that a good portion of them do feel like victims for many years after their experience.
I don't know how I would feel if I was abducted, but I do know many of them are in need of psychological help that they never receive.
Also, I know the Andreassons fairly well, and you are right about them. They do feel that have gained spirituality and insight from their experiences. Unfortunately, they are the exception instead of the rule.

I don’t think what an abductees feels or if they report spiritual growth can be used to try and decide if it was a good experience or a bad one. When someone in the UFO community tries and equate being abducted to “humans capturing endangered animals to be tagged I have to disagree. When was the last time you talked to a Tiger. These visitors seem to know a lot about us, They communicate with the abductees all the time. This is what they report and I accept well research cases as real. This is in no way disparaging on what the abductees feel. They feel what they feel. Only on what these feelings may mean.
The good feelings could be induced as a way to control and may lead to a kind of worship. People give up their lives pursuing the good feeling of drugs. The strength of faith will move mountains misdirected faith can cause wars and enslave people. People in cults seem be in a state of grace at times but the power to decide for themselves is the price paid for these feelings of contentment. If the ET, or whatever they are have studied us then they know us well and could use it. We need to be careful and look at the entire spectrum of cases and even then we could be wrong.

I appreciate this follow-up, and I respect you for doing so.
My sense is that most followers of UFO material don’t “make the leap” in seeing that the phenomenon has to be considered as part of the bigger picture. A relationship with God / Life / Existence shouldn’t get put aside when considering UFOs. I suspect the subject of UFOs may even give us a better insight to this bigger picture, if we could find it in ourselves as a species to take it seriously enough to attempt to understand what it has to tell us.
This subject deserves the efforts of the greatest minds — and the greatest hearts — to give us the answers.
