Close Encounters-The Bizarre Kind
The salesman explained his sighting. He said: "I looked out of the window and saw this sphere pop out from behind a cloud and start zooming across the sky. It was like it was watching me, but I was not scared at all. It looked a bit like a meteorite, but then it started drawing pictures in the clouds."
I think we can all remember when we were younger, and you could go out to parks and lakes without fear of being molested and killed, and take a picnic lunch, and lay and look up at the clouds, and relate certain cloud formations to well known objects. That was a lot of fun. But, we didn't report our finding to the press. If we had, we would have been laughed at, just like poor Gray is being laughed at now. More importantly, these types of reports that reach the press only give more weight to the debunkers, and it would have been better if Mr. Gray had kept his fanciful findings to himself. When I say, "Keep your eyes on the skies," this is not what I have in mind.

Well said. Such reports make a mockery of serious research into this subject. I wish he’d kept his report to himself, too. It’s hard enough for experiencers of anomalous phenomena to get taken seriously as it is, without people handing ammunition to the debunkers.
Um, you might have a typo there, re:
“. . . you could go out to parks and lakes with fear of being molested and killed, and take a picnic lunch . . . “
Does this bloke sell used cars?
Any serious research into the ufo phenomenon MUST include ALL types of accounts, even ones which we may feel are a little too oddball.
Don’t tell me that the UFO community itself has stooped to the unscientific level of disregarding any report or evidence that it does not feels ‘fits’ its own predetermined hypothesis?
The fact is, that if we start calling this guy a nut or telling people with similiar experiences not to speak up, then we are no better than the debunkers that wish to dismiss all UFO reports.
How can we learn anything about this subject unless we look at ALL aspects of it – not pick and choosing those reports that we feel are more ‘acceptable’?
Did the photographs he took look like clouds?
Here’s a link to an article with a picture (albeit a small one) – http://www.islingtongazette.co.uk/content/islington/gazette/news/story.aspx?brand=ISLGOnline&category=news&tBrand=northlondon24&tCategory=newsislg&itemid=WeED24%20Oct%202007%2014%3A17%3A28%3A987
What we have here is 1 of 4 things.
1)The whole story is made up as are the pictures.
2)It is simply a misidentification of a conventional object and the ‘cloud images’ are just his own interpretation and unrelated.
3)It is a true anomalous object but the cloud images are conincidental (and if not mentioned then the sighting would have most likely been added ‘to the pile’ as another ufo report)
4)It is an anomalous object and it is having an influence on the clouds – purposefully creating images.
I haven’t read anything that suggests these cloud images were taken as ‘angels’ by the witness, but even if they were, it would not be the first time that ufos and religious imagery have been connected – see the Fatima case to start with.
Personally, I’d go with explanation 3 for this sighting, but I would not rule out the others (yes, even number 4) and I admit to being somewhat dissapointed by the tone of this article.
Ufos? there is alot of ufos sightings but alot of them are fake just peaple throughing a frizby or a small circuler plane this is just a few reasons peaple try to get talked about. I myself have never sean a ufo in pearson there was one kid at my school that sayed he saw one but a year later he is in medical teatment for illusions. I dont belife in ufo’s I havent been convinced if someone told me spacific deatails I may be convinced but probably not. I have felt like I wasnt alone sometimes when I was but nothing happaned and there was this time I started geting dizzy and I fanted but docters just sayed it was from not enough water. mail me to get ahold of me I would like to talk to someone that has actualy seen a ufo.
So he attributed “drawings” in clouds and fields of water vapor to UFOs. What a wild & crazy guy!
But how is that remarkably different from attributing “drawings” to UFOs in the form of circles and pictographs in clouds and fields of wheat and soybeans?
If he had some good pics then why hasn’t anyone seen them. He could have blown the world away by these pics, but nothing yet. My guess is that the pics are that bad that he’s not sure he should show anyone. Maybe he’ll see a horsey and a ducky sometime.
I see the link someone gave to one of his pics, and they do look that bad.
I must say I DO NOT understand what there is to laugh about? Ok, he saw a cloud that resembled an angel, mildly amusing? But, the triangle craft, where or how is that FUNNY? I dont see the point in stating, that you,( whoever wrote this article)were laughing, maybe you should consider doing articles some where else, in my opinion, you DO NOT belong on this site, every 1 has seen clouds, & many are what the individual himself interprits, but, how & or why would u laugh at a triangle sighting?
Carol, Have you looked at some of the photos of crop circles? No doubt some, perhaps most are the work of terrestrials (wild and crazy art students, or a couple of old hard-drinking buddies driving through the English countryside with their planks and ropes. That said, there are some formations that appear suddenly and that seem to depict events like planetary movements and phases of the moon. Check out http://www.cropcircleconnector.com Simple little circles these are not. Some people believe the crop circles are created by ETs, some think the Earth itself may be manifesting them, and there are other theories. Who knows? But many of them are quite beautiful and look like they would not be easy to create in the wee hours of the night.
I agree that this should be taken as seriously as any other sighting. I would be surprised to find that the recievers of the information did not alter the initial reporting to make it sound worse than it actually was.
Some of the stories that include photos & video footage sound pretty far out there as well. Reactions to this sighting are only holding back the progress that is being made at this time. It takes a lot for some people to come forward, let alone being ridiculed by those considered their peers.
Trent, agreed. I think he should be able to come forward without being laughed at. At least it doesn’t seem like he created a fake UFO like what we’re seeing in some of the videos. Nothing wrong with bringing something forward. And there’s nothing wrong with bringing something forward that can be easily explained. As long as the person who brings it forward doesn’t try to make too many claims. Mea culpas
im dennis gray–im disapointed with the silly bloke waffling on about fake ufo this that and the other.the gazzette did hype up the story.if you want better pics then all are welcome to contact me—den_1974@hotmail.co.uk
thanks to all that read my story.the crist like figure wasnt that big–i sent 12 big photos to the gazette they published a small pic that was both disapointing and out of focus.i have amasing pics just ask,no copyright on them.he is pretty bitter that bloke.if he knew me he would hold his tongue—not many get away with mugging me off loke he did….still he looks lonely…..only looking for internet freinds no doubt…hear..phone me…0207 3599857
+44 o207 359-9857 for people abroad.
if he dont beleive thats ok….but dont come on the computer trying to show me up you mug….your sad….just because you havent seen anything dont mean that i havent.those who know me know i dont lie and it is out of character for me to come forward with such claims.if he wants my original story all he has to do is e-mail me……
Without intent to impugn anyone, the single small picture that was linked above cannot be considered as definitive proof of anything other than the fact that it is a photograph of a cloud formation. I would be very interested to see any other photographs of the alleged phenomena. Perhaps Mr. Gray would be so kind as to upload them to a hosting site such as http://www.photobucket.com and then provide us with links to them.
At this point, I reserve judgment on the basis of insufficient information.
I wouldn’t laugh. I know people who very seriously tell of see giant clouds in the shape of angels and Jesus.
If this was an ET event, it may be a case of “Marking” something, someplace or someone, or a combnination of them.
Is there some sort of nuclear military activity in the neighborhood of Islington?
The name Gray? A top American scientist has been missing for nearly a year named Jim Gray.
Mr Gray may have been taken into custody by ET because he kept trying to program nuclear missiles around ET and ET became tired of having to reprogram them to prevent their launch.
You may note; a top scientist like Mr Gray of microsoft corp, and almost no mention yet in the mainstream media.
Just a suggestion, yet ET seems to communicate right at the borders of our perception.
.
Hey…let’s not laugh at this guy. Anytime next week he will undoubtedly see what looks like six tiny reindeer pulling an unidentified object looking like a sleigh, mounted by an alien in a red suit. (in fact, I think I’ve seen this one once or twice in the past. It looked kind of nice, to tell the truth)
Merry Christmas to all, and to all of you sky watchers… a good night!
I think the pics could be posted on some sort of online photo website (as mentioned above), like flickr or some other site. Many people including myself don’t like to send emails out, because you might end up on a list to receive junk mail. I don’t even put my email on this website to post. I think most people would like to see UFO or paranormal pics from all sincere individuals. I usually go to UFO casebook or MUFON to check out photos, although I think many of the pics on both sites are either nothing abnormal or possibly fakes. Photos are easy to look at and pretty straight forward and people can make up their own minds about them. The only thing I don’t particularly care for is when discussions get into religion or new age interpretations, that’s when the wierdness starts and biases begin. (Unless of course a UFO leaves some real evidence of religion behind.) Scientific interpretation is important when seeing anything unusual.
UFO casebook for those who are interested-some good photos, some not so good. Always pretty interesting.

“Any serious research into the ufo phenomenon MUST include ALL types of accounts, even ones which we may feel are a little too oddball”. by Mikhal
Mikhal, I couldn’t have said it better myself. Who has the right to determine whether or not anyone has seen something unusual or not, without at least investigating it by interviewing the man and then maybe arriving at an opinion. And that’s all it is; it’s an opinion.
Galileo was put in prison for saying the world was round. Why bother having an UFO website if you don’t have an open mind? I’m not saying that this guy actually saw anything, but unless someone has thoroughly investigated this case, who are they to “laugh” at anybody?
I saw “Angels” written in cloud, in an otherwise clear sky, for just long enough to read it and then it was gone. OK–you’re going to think there must be something wrong with me. But, it happened, and there’s nothing wrong with me. Maybe this fellow saw exactly what he said he saw.
Before we write this guy off perhaps you could get the photographs and publish them here.
im dennis gray if someone contacts me by e-mail i can send photos to you.i dont know how to send to this site.
my photos are on flikr my email is den_1974@hotmail.co.uk
have u ever heard of the shag harbour incident.there were many lights up in the sky and there were bombs going off seen by a near airplane.i belive that the U.F.O’s were haveing a fight in mid air… one of the reasons that a U.F.O crashed into that water and apparently there are more than one type of alien and the thing is when you see them u get different feelings which i belive are how they feel or how they act or think dark thoughts or good thoughts.i know this because i have seen about 7 U.F.O’s and each time i had different feelings some happy others tired and out of breath.
