The Walton Abduction

Monday December 17, 2007
In 1975 in northeastern Arizona, one of the most baffling alien abduction cases began. Travis Walton, along with six co-workers were clearing land in the Apache-Sitgreaves National Forest. At the end of the work day, the seven men began their journey down the mountainous region heading to the small town of Snowflake.

Soon, they began to see a glowing light below them just off the road. As they approached the sight, Walton's friend Mike Rogers stopped his pickup truck. The seven workers stared in awe at the sight of a large, luminous object with the shape of a flattened disc.

Walton, overcome by curiosity, left the truck to get a closer look at the mysterious, hovering craft. As the six other men watched in horror, a bluish beam came from the UFO, knocking Travis to the ground. It would be the last thing he remembered for five days. The truck full of men left the area at first in fear, but then came back to see if Travis was injured or dead. He was nowhere to be found. Despite an intense search, no trace of Travis was found until 5 days later when he reappeared near the town of Heber. The rest of the case you probably know. This case has received much attention, and the UFO community has remained split over its authenticity. Personally, I believe that the Walton abduction really occurred, and those who disagree with me cannot offer any evidence to support their negative position.

I came across a video about the case that I think you will find very interesting. Check out the Travis Walton video, and see if you agree with me. Post your comments, so I can get a measure on how our readers feel about this case.

I’ve always found abduction cases the most overwelming over any video and graphic evidence out there. It would take a brave person to be that open to being abducted by aliens

Hello,
I do believe the events hat happened to Travis Walton. Travis had 5 eyewitnesses present. With all of those sighting reports I believe that “a day of invasion” is upon us.

I saw a movie about this many years ago. I didn’t particularly like the movie and didn’t think it was well done. I didn’t see this link video yet, will need to check it out once I get home. This group was a few young blue-collar guys in the middle of the forest. From what I remember some in the group aren’t talking about the incident. So it’s not the greatest bunch of observers, not like pilots or military observers. These abduction cases should be treated with scepticism since the only thing you have to rely on is what the person remembers through hypnosis. Hypnosis can lead people to think that the things they imagined are reality. So basically there’s little or no real proof. Therefore even though abductions might exist I’m not a big fan of the stories. Of all these abduction cases it’s surprising noone has seen or photographed a person being lifted up into the aircraft. This would take some time, getting a person out of the car in many cases and up to the craft. The ufo would be close to the ground. The aliens would need to bring the person up or they would need to come down and get the person onto the craft. I have not heard of a case where people have seen a body going up into the craft nor is there any photos. You think someone somewhere would have taken a picture of this or seen a craft very low to the ground. So I am a sceptic.

For those wishing to buy “Fire In The Sky” the movie; what happens in the film version of inside the craft is nothing like what Travis reported to have actually happened.

This does not seem like a story that a bunch of “loggers” would make up. Personally, I have always believed that they are telling the truth.

(9) Jewel says:

In response to the person having never heard of eyewitnesses observing a person being liften into a UFO, I urge you to read the story of Linda Cortile. It’s outlined in one of Budd Hopkins’ books. Eyewitnesses include two NYPD officers and a foreign diplomat in addition to hundreds of other people who observed the same events unfold.

(10) Scott says:

One other thought….. where does the craft go during the abduction (and examination)? Does the craft stay close to the area and in the case of a car abduction does it hover above the car? Have police ever encountered a car of an abductie? I guess these abductions take time, maybe an hour? Have there been any reports of missing persons while abductions occurred? Bud hopkins from what I can remember is an artist. I think the guy is an oddball or someone trying to sell a book or both. I think if we took a good look at Hopkins stories and checked everything out thoroughly we might find that his references aren’t true or reliable. I think the guy hurts the field.

I believe that the Travis Walton incident really happened and he was absolutely abducted by aliens.

I think Travis Walton reported exactly what he saw, I wish I was there 6 others saw it so why should we doubt there word. Well Happy Holidays to ALL the UFOs believers Aurevoir Yvonne

(13) Tim says:

Randle concluded that the Walton story was a hoax. He said Walton failed a lie detector test, and his story was influenced by the UFO Incident movie about the Hill abduction, shown on TV a few weeks earlier. But other men saw the craft prior to the alleged abduction.

(14) David B says:

It’s a credible story and as with any story the truth lies somewhere between skeptics and true believers. Skeptics disregard everything and true believers accept everything. Something happened and I believe it was alien in nature.

Billy, I thought I would wade in on this, after I emailed you the ufo that I saw I have been trying to get all I can on ufo, like the gravity and magnetics that I think power the ufo, all of the abductions that I have read are just not right, as for the Betty & Barney Hill the part about his teeth is just not right (anyone who flies the stars) will not let false teeth stump them, and all the abductions I have read about are like this some thing gives them away, but I have not seen all you have so what is your take on this. I hope it is true, Billy keep up the good work look foward to next weeks email. Bill Davidson

(16) The Flying Fisherman says:

After reading Walton’s book I am convinced that he was abducted as he said. For Scott you might read it. Were as Walton was hypnotized he also was able to remember most without it. Hypnotism depends on the hypnotist and the person being hypnotized. My hypnotherapist was very careful not to suggest anything that would influence me and I suggested to myself to only find the truth. Based on my memories and evidence beyond the hypnotism I am convinced I was abducted since childhood and remembered accurately. My abduction story is on UFO Casebook under abductions; 1999 Carlyle Lake Abduction. Oh, I can clearly remember being levitated to a UFO and going through its floor. I can remember parts of other abductions some with hypnosis and some without.

well fisherman, of course I can’t tell you it didn’t happen, and perhaps it did happen. It’s nearly impossible for anyone to absolutley say any happening/event doesn’t exist. However, I want hard proof of these things. I am surprised that noone has a photograph of these events anywhere, not even a UFO close to the ground.
“Based on my memories and evidence beyond the hypnotism I am convinced I was abducted since childhood and remembered accurately.”
If you think you have been repeatedly abducted then you might want to have someone with a camera around you at all times. If I thought this was happening to me, I’d have two film cameras in my room working at all times. I’d have film cameras outside my windows and around the house in general. If you get good pics of your encounters then you’d be able to write a book that would make it all worth while.

Why this type of aduction happen in Western country not in Asia? Funny right? No offence to all UFO believer. I also believe in UFO just that all this reports only happen in Western Country not in Asia make me feel like most reported cases are fake.

(19) Linda says:

I think something very out of the ordinary happened to Mr. Walton. I also believe there may well be people all over the world who have had experiences that are difficult to explain–and they either cannot remember them clearly or at all, or are afraid people will think they are crazy if they go public.
