UFOs: Plasma, The New Swamp Gas
Hard core science has not followed this trend, save for a few small exceptions. Science has always had an explanation for UFOs, and if you will look back through history, you will find that their explanations have evolved over the years, but their bottom line is still the same: UFOs cannot exist.
I read an interesting article the other day from my old friend, Regan Lee. UFOs: Plasma, The New Swamp Gas," will give you some of the most popular theories for explaining what UFOs really are, and how these theories have changed through the years. Check it out, and you will see what we are up against.

I will again say that although the media has given the impression that they are more open to reporting on UFOs and UFO related stories, I believe it it still nothing more than the evolution of the disinformation campaign since Roswell. I say this for two main reasons: First, the elite who controll main stream media understand that there is too much in the way of evidence for UFOs to ignore them completely. So, they allow a few to make it through, usually only on regional news coverage shows and seldom on national news shows. The few that they let through are then reported in a way that is my number 2 reason. Even though they’re being reported on a little more often, they are still very much presented either tongue in cheek, sarcastically, or condescendingly. Seldom do I see any reports from MSM news coverage that I believe really holds the story out as news and something that could be serious let alone monumental for humanity.
This said, I still think that any progress in MSM coverage, is great “news”, pun intended.
I read the article a while ago about the swamp gas and re-read it just now. Do they honestly think that every UFO can be explained by “Swamp gas”. Where are the swamps in the cities, mountains, lakes etc. Most of us have probably heard the following “Look the baby is smiling”, “It’s just gas”. Well I think the People that came up with the answer are full of “Swamp gas”, hot air that is.
some physicists very arrogantly proclaim that UFOs could never make it to earth because they know all there is to know about physics and it would take too long for UFOs to travel here from distance planets. It’s sort of amazingly arrogant for scientists to cling to their know-it-all mindset these days. But that’s the main reason they say UFO’s don’t exist. According to them I guess since we know all their is to know about physics and can close the book on physics that we’ll not learn anything new even if mankind exists another ten thousand years. You can see how big the ego is on many of these people.
I should add that I think most scientist will admit that live did evolve on other planets. But due to the distance and time involved to travel here they say no UFOs could make it here and thus don’t exist.
Man thought going to the moon was impossible and we did it. We have sent probes all over our galaxy which we thought was impossible. We thought black holes never existed til we proved that they do. So for a “scientist” to say that space travel is impossible has a narrow mind. Nothing is impossible, it just takes longer to figure it out, and once we’ve done that, we can reach for the next step.
And what would happen if aliens told us our ideas on math and science are all wrong and prove it to us/
If Aliens showed us that our ideas on math and science are wrong, it would open up a whole new Universe of possibilities. We would realise how simple it is to create new formulas for space travel, time travel, teleportation, etc. Take for example, the speed of light. Science says nothing can travel faster than the speed of light. So if you are moving at the speed of light and you sent a beam of light from that, wouldn’t it now be traveling at light x 2, and if you sent a beam of light from that beam, would it not be traveling light x 3?? We are only limited by ourselves and once we unlock the other 90% of our brain, than the universe will be closer for us to explore.
There is still alot of stuff we will learn and ideas we wil have to rethink over and over again. hey would make us ook dumb probably.
Plasma huh? If my abductions were the product of some temporary mental problem then how come my GPS recorded my flight off the northern section of Carlyle Lake in Illinois up to a UFO? The recorded path went over a railroad embankment and back. As far as I know a 40 horse marine engine will not cause a boat to fly through the air. I managed to recall being in one place and then in another place without knowledge of how I got there and later with hypnosis remembering a grey leading me to an examination table and getting a brain scan from a large alien. Unless I have a GPS that records mental conditions and dreams it sure seems real.
See UFO Case Book, abductions, 1999 Carlyle Lake Abduction.
Wel the GPS has no mind so in that case it can’t lie and if it shows the same thngs you said happend to you then it proves soemthing strange happend.
Okay – I read it. I started laughing immediately too. Swamp/Plasma Gas. Have Mercy! I know all reported sightings aren’t actual UFO’s but to dismiss all of them with these ridiculous “explanations” is truly sad. Have they dismissed the Weather Balloon Theory? I think that’s my favorite. We’ve got the Disc Shaped Silver Balloons, The Balloons with rocket fuel that travel into space and are misidentified by Astronauts, there are the large dark triangular balloons with the rotating lights, the super fast jet-fueled balloons that even fool Pilots, the elongated cigar shaped weather balloons………..
I have seen at least one physicist assert that plasma could account for reports of some metallic, reflective UFO’s. Now I’m not a physicist and I certainly am not intimately familiar with all the characteristics of plasma, but I had never heard that an ionized gas could reflect light in the same manner as does a sheet of polished metal. If someone can enlighten me, I’m certainly open to learning something new.
The old “swamp gas” saw has gotten pretty thin since the Ann Arbor sightings. Ball lightning and “earthquake lights” have more potential as possible explanations for some nocturnal sightings. Plasma – well, as I understand ball lightning, it is nothing more than plasma. But ball lightning is seldom more than several inches or so in diameter, and doesn’t last 45 minutes as it makes sharp turns and abrupt stops/starts in the sky. Plus, there has to be some mechanism for generation of the plasma – I just can’t see random globs of plasma coming out of nowhere and hanging around for long periods of time.
I never fail to be floored by those esteemed scientists who see everything in terms of absolutes. They say that “we know” that nothing can travel faster than the speed of light, and because of this absolute and infallible axiom there can’t be any visitors from other star systems. Well, 500 years or so ago, “we knew” that the Earth was the center of the universe, and that it was flat. What does that say about what “we know” today?
Here’s another possibility – UFO’s may be time travel portals. The greys may actually be our extremely distant descendents, and having mastered time travel are conducting studies of ancient civilizations. Hey, if I could zap back 20 million years or so and get a first-hand look at Proconsul, or pop back to the Paleolithic and get a look at Gigantopithicus, I’d do it! The “distant kin” theory, IMHO, does away with the pesky speed limit of C. That having been said, it’s very conceivable (probable) that a highly advanced civilization has discovered that Einstein was just a SMIDGE wrong…
One day Ensinthen may be remebered as a fol if his ideas are foud to be incorrect.
One of the entries into the ufo programs is the History Channels Search for UFO’s. Somehow they managed to take, which might have been a pretty fair half hour presentation, and stretch it into a full hour disaster. And then to kill any hope of it being somehow taken seriously, the little short guy in the pea coat shows up with his UFO cap an dark sun glasses and blows the whole thing with really bad dialog (which I suppose you could blame on writers that don’t have a clue) I guess if it was aimed at pre teenagers it could be a sucess for them. But for someone like myself, that take the ufo study seriously, it fell short.
Couldn’t agree more with WIlliam’s assessment of the History Channel’s UFO Investigation series. It rehashes old cases and expounds ad nauseum on theories with absolutely no basis in fact. It is media exploitation and hype at its worst and a major disappointment to the serious UFO community. I recently wrote the History Channel folks to complain– didn’t even receive a response. One letter is a voice in the wilderness, but a flood of viewer complaints might just force them to do a serious reassessment– ditch the idiot in the pea coat and sunglasses, focus on current events, and do some serious investigation, just like the program purports to offer. Lord knows there is plenty to check out– South America and Mexico alone provide a rich harvest of reported sightings, much less what takes place in the US and England. Take a moment readers, and determine for yourself if its worth your time to send an e-mail to the History Channel programmers and tell them what you think. Then a similar send to their advertisers– that will definitely get their attention!
I think Frank’s suggestion that we should let the History Channels “search for ufo’s” our feelings, is a very good idea. Now all we need is an e-mail address for someone thst would really care what we think!!!
Would not be hard to find someone who belives that but the again how long could they speak freely?
I initially had high hopes for “UFO Hunters”, but they haven’t really come up to my expectations. I’m beginning to feel that this is more a case of sensationalization than of sober, serious investigation. The little guy in the pea coat, in particular, seems already to have made his mind up and is just out to prove that his opinion is right. Serious investigation would demand that the investigators be willing to forego ALL preconceived notions and assess information objectively. “UFO Hunters” is still better than “Animal X” ever was, but it hasn’t delivered on its promise.
However, I was somewhat gratified by the conclusion reached on “UFO Hunters” regarding the Stephenville, TX video of the “wiggly light” UFO. It was obvious to me from the first frame that the perceived movement was the result of a somewhat unsteady (nervous and excited) hand holding the camcorder. What the light actually was – who knows? Someone with an astronomical program on their computer probably could run a diagram of the sky for that date and time. May be that the “UFO” would actually turn out to be Venus, or even Mercury.
This is not to poo-poo all the Stephenville sightings – IMHO we potentially have a “flap” there on the order of the 1952 Washington, DC sightings or the Mexico City UFO Extravaganza. But as with any “flap”, you’re going to have a modicum of honest mistakes made by excited people who misinterpret mundane events as bona fide sightings.
In a court of law, one or two creditable witnesses can convict and send someone to the gas chamber or life in prison. However, if you live in Stephenville Tx. and report a ufo you are fair game to every hack writer and skeptic who wants come up with a new theory or angle for the new book they are planning on writing. They can be counted on to print every word that the witnesses uttered but also to change and add to the copy to make it fit their idea of what it was. Accuracy and honest investigation of the event will not be of prime importance.
No and the sad thing is we live in a contry where you are supposed to be able to speak what you tihnk as long as it doesn’t hutr no one or incite violence.
