According to FAA regional chief, Ian Gregor, the official policy of the FAA forbids the controllers from speaking publicly about what they see. Of course, this is one reason that researchers struggle to gain corroboration on sightings around the country, even when they are told about it "off the record."
In another related account, and as if we didn't expect it, the sighting of the lights on 04-21, was debunked almost as quickly as they were reported.

He says that the whole thing was a hoax that he orchestrated by attaching four road flares to helium balloons and releasing them into the air. Now, before his statement is accepted, there is a lot of research to be done to see if what he did could really account for the sightings. The witnesses of the lights don't buy this explanation, do you?

No and how do we know he wasn’t paid by the goverment to ocme up with his sotry? It was etting alot of people’s intrest so why no try to dimiss it in some way?
Hard to say.. the way the lights disappeared was similar to what one might expect from flares as they die out. This said, most road flares are designed to burn for a long time… much longer than the time accounted for from the sightings. Not sure if the conditions that high in the sky might cause them to burn out sooner or not. I want to know where the debris is? I want to know where this person purchased these special balloons. I want to know what charges will be brought against him for releasing flares over a populated area risking fires, property damage and people’s health. I want to know if this can be repeated with similar results. I want to know how the objects movement can be explained by more than just a hunch that it was related to a passenger jet’s wake causing movement because that is just silly. If you watch the videos (the longer ones)the movements, formations and seeming pauses in those movements/formations at certain times does not seem to me to be explainable by balloons that are at the mercy of the wind currents.
Guys, at the risk of sounding too hopeful, I really think we’re getting VERY close to some real answers here.. things seem to be picking up, gaining momentum and taking on an energy like never before in this field. Fingers crossed!
I believe it was faked….some people think that pulling off a hoax refutes the truth. the government probably isn’t involved, they would have done a better job and milked it more.

Yes, I “buy” the explanation. I believe that someone is crazy enough to do such a stunt, and the full footage looked and acted like flares. In other words, they burned out one by one over approximately 15 minutes. To me, the images aren’t convincing.

I have over 200 photos of these supposed hoax lights!!! They have been camped out over my house in droves for over one month! 911 laughed so loud,but a deputy came out to see. I waited too long to get my courage up before calling that fog had moved in and they couldn’t see them. Oh well. It is very real. My neck hurts from all the looking up! I have pics of our Stealth Techs up there and someone is watching them watch us! I know the difference in planes, etc. But help me… My video equipment will not pick them up. My new zoom camera is working great, but they are really high. What can I do to get better pics? They are bright white in the center window. As they communicate, they are AMBER in color. I see the white, red, blue, but mostly the Amber is what catches my eye. They are moving more now and not just sitting. I fear they’ll be leaving before I can get the ONE GREAT PICTURE! They disappeared before my eyes last night. As I looked thru the binoculars, the white light dimmed and turned to Amber. Then they slowly dimmed until dark and I couldn’t see them. This is an every night; all night routine. I’m near a Nuclear Subase and they will be testing unmaned DRONES soon… so this is really getting creepy. No one believes me even tho I have the pictures to “enlarge” !!! They are recognizable when looking up you see the V formation like Ducks! OR, look for a TRIANGE formed from what looks like STARS…they aren’t! There are too many triangels up there to be star formations! I have a great closer up of the ones spotted in Phoenix but from over my house in Georgia! The only thing I have discerned as being different around here is the pain level I have. It’s greater on the nights that there are more here than 3 groups. Local news reported the St. Augustine spotting, but they won’t touch mine and I tried to get them out here long before St. Augustine and Phoenex. Guess it’s cause of the Subase and Security? So, how should I blow up these pics so I can share them?
I don’t think it was a hoax. I think the ‘hoax’ explanation is a cover-up.

Hmmmm syncronized road flairs…and apparently…either the wind was juuuust right…or he glued birds to the top of those balloons… go figure.. trained birds no doubt…am I dripping with dry humor or what?… some people wouldnt believe even if they found aliens having a box lunch in thier backyards…it would blow thier belief system all to hades…(sure..they believe in hell though)
I saw the film of the Arizona lights and the lights were falling down, not going up in helium baloons…this hoaxer needs to a little better than that on his story telling; we regular folks can tell the difference between up and down…also, did he also hoax the triangular light formation?

I believe that the UFO folks are here to examine our failed society and what did or what will lead us up to our nuclear extinction. There apparently is a law they can’t violate. That law is they can’t help us or harm us in any way. We are among the trillions of worlds in the universe that did or will experience nuclear extinction. In the last few thousand of years since we climbed down from the trees we have improved our knowledge and skills exponentially. Can you imagineo our knowledge and skills if we lived as long as they did?
Hey Kathy Sue - was glad to see your comment, and I am in total belief of what you are seeing.
I have not been so lucky as to get pictures as have not had camera available and was in car during both sightings I had up in Northern Minnesota. I saw a large Black V shape craft in Dec. of ‘97 in morning on my way to work. Suddenly just appeared and was tipped on its side so could see large square areas on bottom that looked like they would be areas for light panels. Have also seen a large black triangle in 2002 that was hovering in a busy city area of all places, but also near airport so most don’t pay attention to large lights in the air, or only take one glance. Even against the night sky you could see the darker outline of the triangle. Was lit up on the sides and also in center underneath it. The triangle ends had to have had lights, plus one in center of each side which made it appear to have 3 lights on each side.
I am not that good at pics, wish I could help you out with technical date on how to share them. I have just gotten new printer/scanner and am trying to learn the programs for doing the same.

I think the gov has hidden enough from us . This could be another one of those cover-ups as well . They fear the panic some ppl would go to . I understand this but what of the ppl who want to know ? The ones of us who believe? We deserve to know the truth . Thousands of ppl come forward at the risk of being ridiculed by others with abductions , sightings , encounters ect ect., why would they lie knowing this would happen to them ? Especually now ?We’ve been told the whole FLARE stories here in AZ as well but flares dont do what we’ve seen these do , myself and others have seen these in the skies and we know better .Flares do not divide into 5 seperate lights swirl around then go back together then move so fast left and right , up then down then just disappear . Some of us are on to that story . The gov fears an all out panic , and with alot of ppl I can see that , But there are more and more believers everyday and eventually we wont need them to tell us because we’ll all know the truth .

when will they learn…..to disinform for whatever reason.i met the pilots of the original phx lights.like arguing religion anything not tied down to earths gravity is a debate or argument.

I only saw one short video clip of these lights, and there wasn’t enough visual information in it for me to form any opinions.
I am aware of the individual who has come forward and claimed to have attached flares to some balloons as a prank. The small bit of video I saw would not tend to dispel that possibility.
I can say that the motions of the lights and apparent unison of their general movement (as I have seen reported) could easily be consistent with the movement of balloons. On a number of occasions, I have seen toy balloons break loose from a local car dealership near my house and pass overhead, following the prevailing wind. They would stay in a general formation, but individually would move around some within that formation. I believe that fits the description of the Phoenix Lights’ movement.
I hasten to add that I am not totally convinced of the story put forth by the alleged perp, since it wouldn’t be the first time someone had tried to get attention by making a claim like that. Plus, he would have had to have gotten hold of some fairly large balloons unless he wanted to spend a few hours with a helium tank blowing up Wal-Mart balloons. Road flares weigh several ounces to a pound each, and a single small dime store (am I dating myself with that term??) balloon wouldn’t lift one. Be all that as it may, in the absence of any evidence that solidly discredits his claim, it can’t be dismissed.
I have to say that I believe that there is a strong possibility that the flare explanation is accurate. I’m not as sure about the alleged prankster’s claim, but I’m fairly comfortable with the balloon/flare explanation.
Now, let’s put on our Reynolds Wrap and go to the next level. Maybe this was an attempt by some covert government group to make us believe that the original lights were flares. Maybe the alleged perp is just a plant who is sowing disinformation. Maybe the original lights WERE flares, but the covert group is pulling this stunt to make us think that the original lights were real UFO’s.
I think you see where I’m going. We can speculate until Doomsday, and there will be no shortage of theories (or theorists) on this. The best we can do is assess the available evidence and try to arrive at the simplest conclusion which fits that evidence.
Well now is it was windy I could see them moving all over the place and sicne it wasn’rt the only other way is that they had a propusion system.
my problem with this report and many others, is why would alien craft need headlights. I’m sure they would have the technology to see in the dark without a big lamp and they seem to be agile enough to get out of the way of any encroaching planes.
It is my opinion that the lights associated with nocturnal sightings (and I’m excluding mistaken ID’s of aircraft and twinkling stars) are probably associated with the propulsion system, or possibly with whatever system the craft uses to maintain its own gravity envelope. The blinking and color-changing lights - possibly some type of position indicator lights, although as has been pointed out such an advanced race would probably have no need of visual signals on their craft.
Or possibly the lights are intended as some kind of test, to see how we react and interpret them. Maybe some of the UFO’s are occupied by researchers which use us the way we use rats in a Skinner box.
There have been numerous reports of spotlights being directed down at observers from UFO’s (Travis Walton, Bentwaters, others). Once again, we have no way of knowing what these really are. But we do have to ask ourselves why a highly advanced race would use simple spotlights to look at the primitive anthropoids on the ground.
And as with anything, the lights may not have anything to do with anything. They might just be the alien equivalent of pimping their rides!
According to the Denbighshire Free Press, a very important eyewitness to a UFO event has come forward with important information about the 1974 UFO Crash in the Berwyn Mountains in Wales.
According to the newspaper, the testimony is part of the upcoming Ministry of Defence’s release of more UFO files.
The January, 23, incident began as multiple witnesses phoned authorities, reporting what they saw as strange formations of green lights in the sky. At exactly 8:38 PM, something crashed into the mountains causing a 4.5 reading on the Richter scale. Initial reports of the incident mentioned a nurse who lived near the scene. She stated that a UFO “the size of the Albert Hall” had hit the mountains.
As of now, the report is excluded to those without a paid subscription to the paper, but I’m sure someone will release the entire nurse’s interview. I know I am looking forward to seeing how close her current statement matches earlier reports of the crash. UFO crash reports are always suspect, but when you have an eyewitness, that’s a different ball game altogether.

UFO Sighting Reports
Welcome, folks, to another session of UFO sightings from around the world. Let’s take a look at some of the best reports of this last week.
Arizona-04-04-08-I am calling this an “unusual sighting,” possibly UFO-related. On Friday April 4, 2008, my friend and I were leaving the Hoover Dam site and had just crossed into Arizona on Hwy 93 toward Kingman. About 20 miles into Arizona, I was adjusting my seat, and as I leaned forward I was compelled to look up and saw about 75 to 100 objects above the cirrus clouds.
