UFO Sighting Reports
Arizona-04-21-08-We live in Cave Creek and were driving home westbound on Lone Mountain between 7-7:30 PM on Monday evening. We first noticed the object as soon as we turned onto Lone Mountain from Scottsdale Rd. We could see a single bright, white light and red lights, and the object was descending slowly south and east. We kept thinking it was a helicopter, but as we got closer and pulled over to stop and watch, we could clearly see the outline of the object which was a trapezoid, with red lights on each corner, and as it moved at an angle it appeared to be a triangle.
It was either floating and silent or moving very slowly making very muffled "whooshing" vacuum-type sounds. We watched until it literally vanished before us. My son took a photo with his cell phone and the time stamp is 7:31 PM. We had been watching it several minutes prior. It was as close to the ground as the distance of flying a kite really high. We were fascinated and in awe, and felt no fear. When we arrived home we called family members to talk about what we just witnessed and were excited to see it on the news that evening.
We have been in this area for some time and are intimately familiar with air traffic patterns from the local airports, Deer Valley, Carefree, and Scottsdale. This was not a plane and it was not a helicopter. We are amused by the claims of balloons and flares and while we don't know what it was, we know what is was not, and it was not balloons and flares. No way!
How would those items create the distinct shape of a trapezoid and where's the explanation about how it traveled from the Deer Valley area east through the thousands of acres of state land peppered with gigantic above ground electrical towers.
We are also a military family and have been around military bases and military aircraft for years, this is unlike anything we've ever seen. We will be watching the skies and hope to post some good pictures for you. source: www.mufon.com
California-05-07-08-As I was driving northbound I-5 To eastbound 76, I saw a large triangle glowing red above the clouds. The object was very large and took up a large portion of the sky.
It had to be at least a mile in size. After getting home, I looked in the direction of the object and could still see the faint glow and a random rapid flashing like lightning to the right, but no thunder. This was also witnessed by my passenger. source: www.mufon.com
South Carolina-05-06-08-I was outside on the porch having coffee and a cigarette. We are about 25 miles from Charlotte airport and see many planes descending for a landing or taking off. I happened to look to the southwest over the roof of the mobile home as something caught my eye.
There was one or two elongated, thin cylindrical objects above the trees. It could have been one object due to atmospheric conditions. They were bright as if having the sun reflected off of it or them. They bounced around for the most part for I'd say 20 minutes. The object then sped off and disappeared. It was a clear morning for the most part. source: www.mufon.com
Tennessee-05-05-07- At about 9:00 PM last night I stepped outside to smoke my pipe. (I don't smoke in the house.) I do this a couple of times every night, and usually scan the sky as I'm out, so I'm very familiar with what the night sky in my area looks like.
Last night as I was smoking, I saw a steady, bright light moving from south to north across the eastern Sky at about 45 degrees. It didn't flash in any way I saw. I had to step off my porch to follow it as it began to pass behind the trees in my yard. I followed it until I lost it behind the ridge line to my North.
I had just returned to my porch and was processing what I had seen, trying to decide what it was, when I glanced up and saw a SECOND light, identical to the first and on the same track. I had to move off the porch again to follow this one as well, and again I followed it until I lost it over the same ridge, in the same spot, as the first.
These were not like any lights I'm familiar with in our sky. I'm used to seeing planes and aviation lights come and go from Nashville International Airport 40 miles to our north. These were not like any of those I have ever seen. They may have been satellites, although I have seen satellites before in our sky before and these lights I saw were several degrees brighter. And I have never seen satellites moving on a straight south to north path before, and I have never seen two following exactly the same path so close in time and space to each other. source: www.mufon.com
Mexico-04-27-08-Reports from Airliner Personnel: Ana Luisa Cid writes: Personnel from the Mexico City International Airport (MCIA) saw an airliner flying close to a UFO. The event occurred on April 27, 2008, at 15:43 hours, when the Aladia Boeing 757-200 commenced rising over the Mexican capital after taking off from the airport in question.
According to calculations, the UFO was 38 meters long (estimating that it was half the length of the Boeing 757's fuselage). They added that the object was saucer-shaped, white and remained static at an elevation of 5,000 meters. Weather conditions: clear and sunny. Information on this case was received from researcher Alfonso Salazar.

New Zealand-05-04-08-Christchurch-On Sunday 4th of May I saw what I believe was a UFO in the skies about Christchurch, New Zealand. It was about 7:00 PM, and suddenly I had this urge to look outside up in the sky. I don't know why I did, and it's a very strange feeling to try and describe. As I did, a bright light streaked across the sky directly above my position.
It was not a shooting star, there was no tail, and it was moving far too slow, but still too fast for a satellite. It was heading in a westerly direction. I have seen many shooting stars and aircraft in my time and I can say this event gave me the chills. source: http://ufos.about.com
That will round it up this week, but be sure to be back next week for more UFO sighting reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies.

China Earth Quake Lights
http://www.yourfilehost.com/media.php?cat=video&file=08200518_quake.wmv
We reaaly don’t know why some earthquakes produces lights undergroundbut the frictio of rocks is doubtfully the cause.
After watching China Earth Quake Lights, all I can say is “Nice sunset somewhere in the orient.” What are we supposed to be seeing? Why is there porno surrounding the video?
Some of these comments on sightings are really difficult to even contemplate. I have read comments about the shape of a sighted object, the speed, the coloured lights, the direction plus other relatively insignificant details, at least to my way of thinking. But I have seldom seen a report which would be more deserving of comment to a really fantastic sighting like the one from a California sighter which reads:
“I saw a large triangle glowing red above the clouds. The object was very large and took up a large portion of the sky.It had to be at least a mile in size”.
Now, say what you like, but this is what I would call a very special and very significant sighting. Yet, nobody seems to have any reaction. I spend time looking at the skies just wishing and hoping I might see something interesting along the UFO line. If I ever looked up to observe an object which took up much of the sky, that looked about a mile long, you can believe that I would not take it so casually. This would be reported to the fullest extent of my capabilities until I was blue in the face, to every person who has ears, and I would keep at it until I got a worthwhile reaction from the person being addressed. The comments in this column just seem to take this report as run of the mill, along with the bright lights and the triangle or circular shapes of objects so far away that they may well never be identified as anything extraordinary. But, an object a mile long ? Have a heart. This is quite a UFO. Did only two people see this? Last time I was there, there were a heck of a lot of people in California, even at night and even on the highways. Out of those millions, I can’t believe that only two people would have noticed an object in the sky, glowing red above the clouds that was more than a mile long. Even a half a mile long would normally attract somebody’s attention. Wouldn’t it? It sure as hell would in my neck of the woods.
Come on Chance Metz. I’d really appreciate reading your valued opinion on this. How about it >> ??
Hi, well there’s some really good sighting reports made this week, the first one is good with it being reported on the news, now that doesn’t happen every day, the large red triangle one is good too….hmmm, L. Roly I’m not for sure what kind of sighting your wishing to see, you have to take the mundane with the fantastic, it goes hand in hand and the better part of sightings are the mundane….you might not think much of the sightings with just a white light going across the sky, but that can be quite exciting if your the one seeing it…I had a similar sighting and if I were to hear it told by someone else I wouldn’t of thought much of it, but like the guy above who saw two white lights, mine was similar to his….I saw one white light, blinking like a house on fire, about or a little bigger than a star traveling across the sky in an erratic fashion, even doing a horseshoe kind of loop and then ducking behind a cloud where it remained, then low and behold another bright white light, blinking like crazy comes across the sky following the other one’s path, not so erratic with the moves but it ducked behind the same cloud and there it remained…I just about did a back flip and was excited like crazy, it was a pretty simple sighting, and not much of one either, but it was very exciting to me, not only did these lights do some crazy moves, they blinked like mad, both hid behind the same cloud…it was a standard run of the mill sighting, so I’ve been told by our local Mufon Investigator…it sure enough got me excited, I stayed there for about 30 minutes waiting to see if the things came out from behind the small cloud they were parked behind, they didn’t…I went thru the whole thing in my mind and there is no way it was a plane, helicopter, flares, balloons or anything of the such, it was two UFO’s and they blew my mind….for someone that’s just listening it might not seem so great, but for someone right there watching and knowing it was the best thing I have ever seen, and the most unexplained thing in the sky’s I’ve ever seen…so I really don’t think there are any average sightings, all are great, and some are just out of this world like the red triangle mentioned above…so don’t complain when someone sends in their sighting of lights in the sky, because if you were there it might be a lot more exciting, and surely was to whoever sent in the report. Hey after my little sighting I don’t want to discredit anyone from sending in a report, there all great to me!!
To Charles Grubbs – thank you for a great comment. I did not intend to belittle anyone’s report, believe me. I realize it must be exciting to view such a sight. I wish I could be so lucky. Reminds me of “Hugh’s Story” which I sent to Billie some time ago. Maybe if you ask him, he may let you read it. Your message encourages me to continue to look skyward. Thanks.
yeah..if i saw a mile wide object in the sky i wouldn’t let the subject rest either..possibly a slight exaggeration?
Estimating the size of objects which are at a distance and not near other objects of known size can yield some widely varying results. The greater the distance, the more problematic this becomes. And it is all the more true when a bright object is seen against a dark background (like the night sky).
Here is an illustration of the difficulty in using the bare eye to estimate size and distance of an object. When I was an air traffic controller, we in the tower would very often get a “handoff” of an inbound aircraft from Center when the aircraft was 40 or more miles away. Sometimes the aircraft would already have its landing lights on, and on a really clear night you would swear the aircraft was only maybe 5 miles off the approach end of the runway.
The aircraft would look like a bright ball of white light due to the fact that the human eye cannot resolve an image under those conditions. However, one look at the radar would confirm that the aircraft was 40 or so miles out, and we would know that the single point of light we saw was actually comprised of as many as three landing lights plus the aircraft’s navigation lights. But it would still look like a single bright ball of light just a few miles away.
The witness in California who reported the large triangular UFO may or may not have been correct on the estimate of the size, but that is not so much important as is the fact that it was large enough to be clearly seen and described specifically.
The object was described as being above the clouds. A report of weather conditions, specifically the ceiling as reported by the nearest Flight Service Station, may shed a little perspective on this sighting. If the ceiling were reported as, say, 5000 feet and broken, then if the object were above the clouds and looked that big, it must have been a whopper. If the witness could recall how big the object looked in relation to something like his/her rear-view mirror, an even better estimate of the size could be derived. But a hip-shot estimate of the size, however well-intended, can be wildly inaccurate.
I always keep a lot of salt on hand for reports of those objects which are stated to be of so-and-so size unless there is a good frame of reference to go with the estimate.
