Report from UK of Triangle UFO with Video

Monday June 30, 2008
Hampshire Video Frame Grab Someone a sent me a link to a really impressive news report from the United Kingdom. Southampton has been the site of a number of UFO reports lately, especially triangle and other odd-shaped objects. The Daily Echo ran an article about two weeks ago describing some of the reports. After that article ran, a number of other witnesses sent in their reports also. One of these was accompanied by a very clear video of a more or less triangle craft moving through the skies.

Dilys Bartlett and her family took the video from their home in the town of Shirley, on June 1.

Mrs. Bartlett said, "We looked up into the sky and there it was-a black triangle. It did not seem to be moving left or right, it just drifted up into the clouds before disappearing."

I looked at this a number of times, and the only thing that this could possibly be is a kite, and the way the object moves through the sky, it is definitely a craft, and does not fit into any of the conventional explanations. Check out the video, and post your opinion on what you think it might be. I have included a frame grab above right.

I suppose most people would just say it was a kite. Looking forward to more comment from others who saw it. It certainly looks like more than a kite to me.

What makes you think it is more than a kite? can you elaborate please.
Thanks

O.K.,o.k.,maybe,it is just a kite!I stand corrected! But,wouldn’t it be interesting if it was a ufo?!

(4) John says:

Well it is a UFO since we don’t know whether it’s a kite or alien space ship or something else

After a second look at the video I would have to say that to me it seems to be just a kite!

(6) Connie says:

You’re right,John,in that case it definitely is a UFO!:)

(7) John says:

Probably a kite though as it looks distorted on one side more than the other which could be due to the wind, unless an alien ship is made out of thin fabric which could bend in the wind.

I think the side you’re thinking of is the nose section. As for it being a kite, it’s curious to me that it seems quite stable up so high for a kite. A kite is particularly light, so shouldn’t it be dragged away rather quickly by the air currents?

probably a kite, but could be a balloon of some sort.

The video to me looks like a hang-glider or possibly an ultra-lite plane. Could also be a kite of some sort.

Could also be a kite.

You are all right it is a kite. Not much wind is why this is happening like it is.

Here is an article from a UK newspaper that takes up this matter.

http://www.thisishampshire.net/display.var.2351503.0.is_this_the_answer_to_hampshires_ufo_mystery.php

The object in the video appears to me to be one of these balloons. I base this not only on the article, but on the movement of the object. IMHO it behaves just like a balloon.

If this object were to exhibit some anomalistic motion like sudden changes of speed or direction, I would be a lot more interested. But I feel that it is simply a balloon.

(15) Adda says:

The man has seen something like this before by his comment. I believe it is too high to be a kite; but of course it could be. It does look like an earlier Puerto Rico type ufo shape. It also looks more military than anything else to me.

Iam back. No it’s not a ufo see the birds.I guess we just want to believe that we are not judgeing the size. Darn wish it were.

(17) stewart grieve says:

No way is that a kite, a) it’s far to high, the kite would have to be huge. b) it’s moving in a forward motion then turns and with a stable flight path, no wobbling like on a kite. c) you can see a see gull fly beneath it for scale and that thing is big, too big to be a kite.
Looks like a legite sighting to me.
Nice one

(18) Dave Jones says:

If it was a kite, it would have been traveling with the wind, a kite when in the air wavers all over the place, and for it to go state up, resisting wind forces….. what go up must come down… I think not.
No kite……

(19) Paul says:

It looks to me like it could be an ultralite Hang Glider type craft or perhaps a kite; although seems to be too high for a kite; unless it broke away from a string. This is only a guess though.

(20) mustanglead says:

It’s military kit.. The triangles are ours the saucers are theirs. This is a member of the TR-3 family. Now the real question is: Why won’t they tell us the secrets of the propulsion systems on these things? There is no need for oil or any other fossil fuel for that matter.. The evidence is clear from all over the world not just this sighting.

(21) mustanglead says:

As a reply to Sam B.. The Solar balloon is a cool explanation but as in both videos I have seen from the Southampton area the weather has been cloudy and overcast on both occasions. Now as the article you linked to quite clearly states their experiment didn’t work for precisely those reasons. Also it would be extremely dangerous and foolish to launch these into Southampton CTR(D) airspace. The media would have made much bigger noise about it for exactly those reasons.

(22) Jonathan says:

Looks like a solar balloon. Definitely not a kite. I release a lot of these here in the USA.
