History Channel Presents: NOSTRADAMUS: 2012

For all prognosticators, conspiracy theorists, and other interested parties, you will be pleased to know that the History Channel will present a two-hour program dealing with the many dire predictions for the year 2012.
The program is actually a sequel to "The Lost Book of Nostradamus," and claims that it will separate long standing historical predictions, and actual facts. The first airing will be on January 4, during prime time.
Anytime the 2012 prophecy is mentioned, you get opinions that range from fear to outright ridicule. What do you think? Is this just another fatalistic warning without merit, or should we really be concerned? Give us your comments.

Hi, my name is Scott Waring and I accomplished a worlds first here. I sent my two novels that I wrote, into deep space and traveling at the speed of light on Dec. 17, 2008. The novels and their front and back covers were sent. The novels were George’s Pond and West’s Time Machine. I really want to get these into deeps space because who knows whats going to happen in 2012. It’s a way to preserve the novels intact.
I used a 6 meter (19.6 foot) parabolic reflector and very high power 500+ watt BUCs (block up-converters). The computer technology encodes that data (the two books ) and couples it to a carrier wave that we believe is most likely to be noticed by any technologies that may exist beyond Earth in our Universe. The data gets sent 4 times, once every six hours to insure it travels in all directions.
The digitized novels traveling in the vacuum of space will go on forever and ever. Hopefully they will reach civilizations with technology to receive these signals, so that they can add these two novels to their libraries.
Yes I know intelligent life out there exists. I just wanted to let them know that intelligent life exists here too.

People have been talking about Nostradamus since I was a child, maybe 30 years ago. His predictions are too vague and when people try to nail down his vague predictions what we get is nonsense. And that’s what every show about Nostradamus has been, absolute junk. One of his predictions supposedly mentions Hitler, but that’s the only one that might have substance to me. And I bet we find out someone wrote that in at a later date. If he knew what he was talking about he should have made is easier to understand. I know the nonsense about him having to make his predictions more cryptic (just more nonsense I think).
I think when people find something meaningful in Nostradamus’ predictions it’s probably some sort of lose translation where the translator added something or misinterpretated words to make it more interesting. It may have not been done intentionally. People who translate his writings probably want to believe from the start.
Nostradamus’ “prediction” about hitler was actually just as vague as the rest… it was about someone named hister.
This is what I think about prediction about catastrophic events and major future events. They never happen. Anyone could make up something and say it will happen in the future. Chances are that something similar will happen. All you have to do is look at the past and make up something that vaguely resembles the event. Notice that most predictions have something to do with war, or natural disasters, both of which will never stop happening.
2012 in my eyes is just another y2k, blossom goodchild, run of the mill end of the world junk. Why are humans so obsessed with “the end” we don’t know when or how it’s going to happen. We can’t predict it, we never will. So why try, and why LIVE life worrying about if your going to die in some end of the world saga. It’s ridiculous.
There are people who have been studying the mayan culture for many years who say it’s simply just the end of their long count calendar. The end of chaos. The move into a new era and a deeper conscience. That would be nice, but most likely isn’t going to happen.
The whole subject is open for interpretation… just like everything else.

Christin, yes thank you, it was hister. I saw it first on some show about 20 years or so ago. I haven’t bother watching those shows in a pretty long time. Here’s some info i found on this hister ‘prediction’ which might be one of his best ones
Skeptics cast doubt upon the interpretation of Nostradamus’s quatrains (Randi 1993). Here is how James Randi and Cheetham read one of the more famous quatrains, allegedly predicting the rise of Adolph Hitler to power in Germany:
Bêtes farouches de faim fleuves tranner;
Plus part du champ encore Hister sera,
En caige de fer le grand sera treisner,
Quand rien enfant de Germain observa. (II.24)
Cheetham’s version:
Beasts wild with hunger will cross the rivers,
The greater part of the battle will be against Hitler.
He will cause great men to be dragged in a cage of iron,
When the son of Germany obeys no law.
Randi’s version:
Beasts mad with hunger will swim across rivers,
Most of the army will be against the Lower Danube.
The great one shall be dragged in an iron cage
When the child brother will observe nothing.
Neither translation seems to make much sense, but at least Randi’s recognizes that “Hister” refers to a geographical region, not a person. So does “Germania,” by the way; it refers to an ancient region of Europe, north of the Danube and east of the Rhine. It may also refer to a part of the Roman Empire, corresponding to present-day northeastern France and part of Belgium and the Netherlands. (Because Hister is an ancient name for the Danube region near Hitler’s childhood home, some think the reference is clearly to him.)
Nostradamus got one thing right….for years I had heard that there would be a great Fire from the Sky that would strike the New City.
We discussed, at lenght, what this could mean…nukes, comet, etc.? Where would it hit? NYC or LA for sure.
It was NYC and a 747 loaded with fuel. That certainly fit someone’s vision 400 years ago.
Yes he was off about 26 months…does that mean he was wrong??
I just don’t understand the obsession with the end, and death, and catastrophic events. How do you enjoy your life constantly wondering when it’s gonna end?
Future events are changing every day because of the actions of all of us. What may have been the future in Nostradamus time if he actually was able to look into the future is not necessarily the future he would have predicted.

Manny, very interesting. I really hope if this shift happens man kind can embrace the change. That’s what scares me. I don’t know if humans can open up their minds that much in just 3 years.
The Mayan Prophecy is interesting whether it’s disastrous implication are true or not. The expanse of the Mayan calendar itself can’t help but inspire some curiosity, but relating it to Nostradamus instantly destroys any chances at credibility.
I remember being a kid, and overhearing at school: “The world is going to end tomorrow, Nostradamus said so.”
Apparently, Nostradamus makes an apocalyptic prophecy every two years. You want a prediction? Here’s one, Nostradamus will predict the world will end in 2014, then again in 2020, and perhaps a third time in 2025.
If it wasn’t for the planetary alignment, and the possible astrophysical ramifications of such an event, I’d call it all more ramblings from a deceased, defunct med school dropout.
According one of the books out on 2012 now, they seems to think we are going to enter an age of awareness like that of the time whe we figured out the world was not flat?
I have a couple of books on the subject. That’s what both of the ones I have talk about. Moving into a deeper conscience, ending chaos, “christ conscience” if you will. A total awareness of what is.
Some people don’t believe that the planets have an effect on our psych. I think they they do. I think its all part of something much bigger.
The aliens will come down and announce that they never heard of the bible and that it is a hoax. Millions of religious types will commit suicide. The world will finally have world peace.
I am very disappointed in the History Channel’s presentation of this topic so far (30 minutes into the show). They keep saying things like “some researchers think …” followed by some preposterous assertion. They fail to provide any credible authorities for these statements.
Even if you assume there is some validity in this entire topic, they are not providing any counter-claims or arguments. Perhaps they are avoiding any counter-claims because this would make it clear that this is a grab for ratings and not a serious attempt to explore the topic.
I think it’s the usual alarmist nonsense.
If it turns out to be true, so what?

Forgive me for not reading everyone’s comments because I believe I’m not the only one saying these things…
I currently am watching a History Channel special on Nostradamus’ predictions and how his last ‘lost’ book hints that the Earth will end, or begin to end, in 2012.
Here’s what I learned…
1. Being an author doesn’t make you an expert. It’s extremely harmful to science to have authors, or anybody who is not a scientist, talking as if they have proof or valid opinions on things. For instance, the History Channel show ‘the Universe’ is littered with crackpots talking about string theories and multiple universes. This is not science. This is not fact. Don’t be fulled, this is called television. They want you to watch the show so they say things to keep you interested, but these stories are no more factual than an episode of Everybody Loves Raymond. If science doesn’t interest you then you instigate the end of the universe on a regular basis. So quit watching television and do some research.
2. If you believe that all of the terrible things going on in the world is going bring an end to the human race then you’re probably correct. However, complaining about economics and global warming is one route, researching some moron’s quatrain’s after things happen and suggest that it was a prophesy is another, but there are more responsible things to do with your time. You could research why these things happen and do you part in changing them. I’m not saying you should drop your life and move to a monestary, or camp out in DC with a protest sign begging the government to do something about it, but you can eat foods that don’t use as much land to produce, you could reduce your spending on useless things in order to induce a handicap on big business, or ride a bike, take public transportation, or carpool to work and the grocery store to make personal changes that make the world a better place. If you accept that these things are eminent because Nostradamus said so then you are the reason these things happen.
3. I have become skeptical of religion. If religion gives you the motivation to do caring things with your time then I have the utmost respect for you and whatever God you serve. I was once someone who used God as a reason to be a more caring person. My loss of faith however gives me a bit of bias. But we all need to realize that Theologians are not scientists, historians, economists, astronomers, or prophets. A line needs to be drawn between fact and faith. You cannot let yourself be fulled that the universe was created in seven days, you have dominion over wildlife and nature, and the the end is eminent when factually our coming fate is attributed to human shortcomings and ignorance.
Also, if anyone has any information on any of the authors who spoke on this episode I would love to be informed. I have every intention of sending e-mails/letters to these people denouncing them to their faces.
people who completely denounce nostradamus’ predictions and the mayan calender are more ignorant than the people running our government. im not saying you should definitly believe but, everything can’t just be coincidence. why would a person believe someone who is credited. who credited them? what gives that person the importance of doing something like that. im not saying nostradamus and the mayans are right but to completely trash what they’re saying is wrong and pathetic. It doesn’t take a fool to see that the world is currently going to hell. Natural disasters are getting worse. Yes they will always happen and always have happened but the are getting WORSE. We are not goin to have polar ice caps a year from now. that has never happened. and you don’t have to be “credited” by someone to know that or tell someone else about it. for all you science people who believe people and our world was created by an explosion in space, here is what i ask, what created the molecules or atoms that caused the explosion “big bang”. two things rubbing together then bang? what made that? Universal changes and changes in human conciousness have been moving at a fast pace in the last few years..I’m sure many of you feel this but can’t quite put your finger on it..There is definately some kind of shift taking place. Wether it’s destruction in 2012 or some kind of spiritual growth depends on all of our abilities to create the reality.

As for “Scott Waring says”, that’s a very interesting project he has underway. My only suggestion would be that he promptly gets his 6 meter (19.6 foot) parabolic reflector into action as quickly as possible and send out a complete world lexicon fully illustrated with the best pictures possible, so anyone finding his space travelling novels will be able to understand what he is writing about. Also, don’t forget to include a SAE.
l think there will a lot of things going to worse in the year 2009 and getting worse eveyday until 2012, He may be off a little bit, but l do not think it was meant for us to know the exact date.

After reading what is mostly nonsense on this posting again, I had to jump in for a brief comment. First there is no god. And there is no person on this planet who can predict what is going to happen in the future and there never was. It is called “superstitious nonsense”. I remember Jean Dixon who used to get all the tabloid coverage because one time she got lucky and one of her hundreds of vague predictions seemed to be correct. If you make enough wild predictions for the future and keep from being too specific, then something will seem to come true. Grow up people.
All i’m going to say is that “The End” and “Death” could mean something more. Cristin, have you ever heard of Tarot. Death, is known a afresh, a new beginning. I do beleive something i going to happen but it doesnt mean that it is a bad thing but it might give this planet a new start which i do think that on principle, everyone wants. Why can’t “The End” mean the end of what we know now. There were so many knowledgeable civilizations before us, why do we think that they were wrong just because they died out. The 2012 is not just a Nostradamas thing, it is the end of the Incan calender. How can 2 people be wrong? Please take this to heart.
Telling the future is a funny business, and it’s not all written in stone. Some things such as fate well there are things that can happen to change it a little. Also when you ’sense’ or ’see’ things it’s not always that easy to express it. Sometimes what you get is only a feeling. Sometimes you don’t know is it the past, present or future. But what it does tell you is that there is a connection, and we all can tap into…if we want to. Some do not but sometimes it happens out of the blue, and it scares them so they shut it out or put it down to daja vu but it’s not..it’s the connection we all share. I believe Nostradamus tapped into this but this doesn’t mean all his visions were of the future or would come to pass but I do believe he tapped into it. I believe this is what has been happening with many for a while now. There is a lot of stress and anxiety in our world today. It is the knowing or sensing of what is to come. It’s almost here. It’s not the end but a change.
It’s a shame that we can’t harness the energy expended in each of these ‘end of the world’ episodes (I say ‘episodes’, because they happen over and over, and yet, the people, the planet and universe keeps on going… like the ‘Energizer Bunny’)… but- so many people, who evidently have very little education in science, physics, and in particular ‘Astronomy’ (a science), not astrology (a belief) come crawling out of the woodwork… longing for some excitement… something much more spectacular than the economy, the wars, and the world leaders (which all seem to be playing vital roles in our future)… but if we could harness all of that energy… we wouldn’t be in an ‘engergy crisis’ (although, we may find ourselves in a ‘B.S.’ crisis).
I’m watching Nostradomus 2012- and so many of the same-ol’ people, are saying the same-ol’ tired stuff. I notice that Lawrence Joseph, author of “Apocalypse 2012″, claims that the Mayans believed that the ‘navel’ (the black-hole) at the center of the galaxy, was where the stuff from which the stars were made… and he goes on to say that ‘low and behold’, scientist NOW know that this is true.
(How do I hack thee… let me count the ways…) First- the Mayans new nothing of ‘black-holes’…. period. They had no type of instrumentation that would allow them to even ’suspect’ such a celestial object. Second- it wasn’t until recently (in the last decade… actually, less than a decade that scientist have confirmed the existance of a ’super black-hole’ at the center of our galaxy (and of all galaxies observable). And third- these ‘black holes’ are not where anything (star-stuff, or anything else) is created… black-holes are the vacuum-cleaners of the galaxies… pin-points in space where the gravity of a massive dead start has consumed everthing around it, increasing it’s gravitational field to the point that light cannot even escape. It’s not a point of creation… it’s a point of distruction. And like I said- the Mayans didn’t have a clue about ‘black-holes’, any more than they new about the internet. If the producers of this show don’t provide rebuttle, then the whole thing is a farse… and in many countries, such ‘claims’ are required to have a disclaimer stating that the show is for ‘entertainment’ purposes only. It’s too bad that the USA doesn’t require the same… ’cause this BS perpetuates stupidity.
I believe 2012 will bring significant change of a positive nature as long as we do not destroy ourselves before then.
When I was in Cozumel this year the guide spoke a little about 2012 and she said it didn’t mean the end of the world but more so the end of what we know and the beginning of something new. Maybe after a few years in office Obama will disclose info, ufos will show up, religion will change and that is what will happen in 2012. Our lives turned upside down, beliefs shattered and the proof that UFOs and aliens exist. the end? no the beginning !

A friend of mine emailed me. He asked me if I had see the show on the history channel about this subject. I told him no. Asked what I had missed. His reply: I don’t want to scare you, but they was talking about how the Mayan Calendar ends in 2012, Nostradomas predictions ends in 2012, on the day of 12/21/12 the sun will rise directly in the middle of the milky way, which happens every 26,000 or 27,000 years. Their saying that something catastrophic will happen that year. I just hope it’s not a comet.

Scott Waring…even though I don’t understand how you did it, I am glad you are taking matters into your own hands to get a message out. But…since our galaxy is over 100,000 light years big, it’s going to take sooo long to get anywhere!
I love hearing about 2012 projections. I think it is so exciting whether the world ends, humanity awakens, the poles switch, or NOTHING! I can’t wait to wake up on December 22nd (hopefully!) no matter what the outcome. I think it is so exciting to be here on this earth to witness the galactic alignment!!!!!
I have thoroughly researched (ie: obsessed) over 2012 and all of it’s meanings. I have been wondering when people were going to start talking about the galactic alignment and the possible events that could be caused.
The alignment in itself is so amazing, and as the show said, we believe that it wiped out hundreds of species last time it happened. I think that is enough to raise concern and even speculate that the human race could be destroyed…
I do love the fact though, that no one knows! NO ONE! We can all get all worked up and fear this dreadful year, but that will be self-caused misery because we have no idea. It makes me anxious and I can’t help but to feel a little sad for my 2 little kids. Regardless of what happens, I do believe that many lives will be lost and it will be harder to survive.
If humanity is wiped out, so be it. At least we all went together. Everyone dies. It would just be sad that it halted any chance of evolving…but geeeez do we deserve to evolve? Individually I think we are such intelligent creatures, but as a whole, holy cow! Mayhem!

I heard that the world is ending in 2012, so a couple of guys, who were up to no good, started making trouble in my neighborhood. I got in one little fight and my mom got scared, she said you’re movin’ in with your auntie and uncle in Bel-Air.
Hmmm, this is very interesting… I personally have multiple opinions on this. First off, I will gladly admit that NO BODY on this planet has the ability to say for 100% sure what is or is not going to happen in the futures. I have read many books on Nostradamus and can tell you that it is just like the bible in that it is completely open to interpretation. What I may see and what somebody else may see may be 2 completely different things. After saying that, I will gladly admit that it is quite entertaining to research stuff like Nostradamus and the Mayan Calendar and all that, but lets not take it to seriously. On a side note to “Eric”, what the hell are you talking about “crackpots” on the History Channels’ “The Universe”. I watch this show every single Tuesday and have them all recorded and 90% of the people they have on there are Professors at acredited colleges. Michio Kachu is a very popular author and also happens to be one of the founders of the string theory and a Theorhetical Physicist and professor. I agree with what you saw on the “Nostradamus 2012″ special, but “The Universe” puts every name on their show and most, if not all, are very competent guests. I think what you may have a problem with is that about 75% of what “The Universe” deals with is not 100% proven science, but rather theorhetical physics or astronomy. However, if this is what bothers you than what kind of science is 100% right? At one time people thought Newton had it all perfect, then Einstein came along and showed several flaws in Newton’s “LAWS”. Nothing in science is 100%, it is rather just more probable.
hello to all my name is luke. the question of weather 2012, is the end is immaterial. it does not matter,when i am dead my world ends. I don’t know about anybody else, but when i go i hope to see god or who ever.
I think the History Channel has had some very good programs on actual historical events and people. But they seem to run out of factual material and run shows about Nostradamus and “the End Times” too often. They use the reputation they got from truly educational productions to promote popular myth and nonsense. This harms them and us in the long run.
We can hope that “sooner than 2012″ – History Channel directors will figure this out.
Nostradamus got it wrong. The end of the world will come a year later (at 2013) when the sun and the milkyway line up with the Andromeda galaxy (that happens very rarely). I learned how to build a time machine from an earlier program on the national geographic channel and I am thinking of going back in time to help Nostradamus.
I have a feeling that if the world is about to end we’ll be the last to know it. 2012 will be yet another year to ponder the future destruction of the world on some other date.
I am in utter disappointment of the History channel. It seems lately all they want is the world to end. Well if it does it does but it is hard to believe that an author is going to tell us it is. Did anyone ever stop and think that some good could come out of the 2012 thing instead of the end of man, the death to all. I think that I will buy the history channel and completely shut it down. I am that disappointed. I watched it last night and the only thing they could show is huge waves and storms that have already happened. Let me explain something to everyone, the storms they show we made it through, any storm coming we will make it through and the only thing that we know of that can stop us in our tracks is a comet. And nothing of that sort is coming anytime soon. No if you are going to listen to some dumb author tell you that you are going to die in 2012 then you might as well go lay down on a highway because your time is up already. Life is what you make of it and if you sit and listen to someone predict your future which is completely insane than this is your fault. First off I believe in GOD. I see that some of you don’t. But at some point in your mind, no matter how much science you discover, and prove that said molecule created said molecule. You have to admit at some point that something created the first something. It’s that simple. Now the preception that some people have about GOD, I am coming to the realization that they may actually be wrong. Some people read the Bible and all they see is the “Hell Fire and Brinstone”, on another hand there are people that read the Bible and all they see is the “Pearly Gates, and streets of gold”.
If Barak Obama has ever made even one true statement. It is that one he said about “Some folks ain’t been reading their Bibles” Although, I don’t really agree with the smirk on his face while he was saying it. It was a true statement.
Is the world going to explode into a million peices? To be quite honest I do not know what is going to happen.
But I can say this much. I’d be a complete asnine idiotic fool to dismiss the fact that so many mediums of information are all pointing to, not necessarily this “EXCAT DATE” but more so…this “TIME FRAME”. I doublt very seriously that something is ever going to happen on an excat date that someone predicts.
If you were to ask me, I’d say some time between now…2009 and 2020 …This “TIME FRAME” all the mediums of information seem to be pointing to some type of world changing events within this specific “TIME FRAME” The specific Date 12/21/2012 is just a prediction of an astrological event, I believe. Although, its not entirely impossible for something dramatic to happen on this date. No more impossible than it is for something dramatic to happen 10 minutes from now, or tomorrow, or Next week.
So to answer the question is something going to happen? I would most definitely say so…yes! When is this thing going to happen? I have no earthly Idea! But most likely judging from the things I’ve read seen and believe. I don’t think its a million, a thousand, a hundread, or even 50 years from now. I get the feeling it is much sooner than that. Like that one person was saying…I just sense that something is happening. Something just feels weird. I can’t really explain it. But it feels like something thats been a long time coming is almost here.
Kind of like that Country song that says…”Your leavins’ been a long time commin’” As if to say like with your significent other, you just know when things aren’t right…you don’t really even have to ask “Is something wrong?” Because you know that something is wrong. But like a fool you do it anyway…you ask the question…”Honey, is something wrong?” And, you get your head chewed off.
How does this releate to all this “End of the World” stuff. Simple, if your a normal human being, by now you should be able to tell that something is wrong with the world you live in.
You should not even need to be asking this question.
But yet your doing it anyway. So there you have it. My 2 cents worth. Hope it makes some sense to you.
Something interesting to think about is that dinosaurs roamed the earth for over 100 million years. That means they saw MANY galactic alignments, since they happen every 26,000 years.
Were a few mass extinctions too.

But, no one actually found out the truth till someone got in a boat and actually went there in person and saw for them self.

You can’t tell me that for 100% sure either…because you were not there. Your just assuming based on some scientist’s statements. And, based on what we have already proven in this blog. That Einstein proved Newton’s stuff wrong. Who’s to say that next year someone is not going to prove Carbon Dating wrong?
To be quite honest…I think someone already has found a couple of holes in the process anyway. Assuming that there was a bubble of water around the earth at one time.
Fact is no one knows what they think it is they know. We are all just ants on a log floating down a river.

This show was so bad that have to wonder about the entire History channel and their accuracy. I have always thought they played loose with the facts but this was just beyond absurd. In fact their entire Armageddon week has been appalling, with the stories of the antichrist. Talk about fear mongering.
Some examples in the show, they overlay astrology images on to images from Nostradamus drawings. They don’t match at all, then they claim that as proof. They call alchemy science! How many times did they use the phrase “Some say,,,, (something absurd)” and then don’t back it up with anything approaching fact. Maybe they should call it the “religious crackpot’s history channel”
Utter crap and garbage! My advice stop worrying about the end of times, if it happens it happens and stop watching the history channel it will rot your brain. Sheesh!

The “History” channel reached new lows with this trashy program. Take a good look at the style of the presentation and the experts that give their opinions. The style is vague: “some even say that..”, “it might also be..”, and the information is often downright wrong or full of pseudoscientific facts pertaining to astrology and alchemy. The experts are not historians or natural scientists but authors of popular books on this subject and stand to make a profit from programs like this. One person’s credentials was “futurist”! What does that mean? As for the “History” channel producers obviously their business is to make money, so the more fantastic the speculations are (e.g. the mayans knew about the black hole at the center of the galaxy or Nostradamus predicted every major event in history and knew the spiral structure of the galaxy) the higher the ratings. They must be making a bundle with the “end of the world” programs and I bet they are not planning to spend all that money in the next few years before 2012! What really surprises me is that they do not seem to be concerned that they will lose their viewers by showing such crap. They must have a VERY low opinion of their viewers. I hope we prove them wrong because such an overload of misinformation is harmful to many who naively believe what they see and hear on TV.

Carbon dating has been found to contain flaws..It is not accurate. But for living organisms to become stone (fossils) the process takes more than hundreds of thousands of years..It’s true much is theory.As a geologist with an open mind,We still have a lot of secrets to uncover and so much to understand..

I know this is a late comment, but …
1) Because we are human, interpretation is unavoidable. If you read as many scientific articles I have, you would see that even an objective scientists must subjectively interpret their data. Whatever anyone says about Nostradamus or the Mayan calender is nothing more than an interpretation.
2) We interpret by using information available to us. A real study, and it would have to be a serious endeavor, of Nostradamus’s work must consider it the context of his era, not ours. There have been too few, serious studies of Nostradamus work, let alone of the man himself.
3)The same applies to Mayan calender created by a people about whom we know very little.
4)People have been predicting the end, since the beginning of time, so it seems.
5) Nothing I have said is new to anyone. So, why would anyone give any credibility to yet another prediction of doom? … Is it because we don’t like our lives in the here and now and hope for something better? I think so.
6) The greatest threat to us is happening to us right now, threats to our health, our environment, etc. The fact that we must work longer and harder than in the past to just make ends meet, at least for many us. This threat will continue long into the future, because we keep looking for salvation in doomsday that will change everything? For that matter, in a hero? Or, a politician that will make things better? I think so. But, change will not come this way. It will only from us acting now.
You can’t believe any prophecy about the end of the world. That is unless it starts with ” The Cubs Win the World Series”.

12212012 is my 25th birthday. It’s also the day my driver’s liscence expires. I bought a bottle of wine on my 21st birthday, and when the cashier looked at my driver’s liscence he started talking about so many things, the 8 year old little boy behind me started crying. I didn’t even know anything about this prediction until then. Until my 21st Birthday … if there was that much cause for concern, don’t you think I would have heard about it by now? It’s not lack of education or intelligence, it’s lack of true evidence and solid conversation about what’s really going to happen. I plan to wake up at 10:01 (he predicts 10:00 to be the end in some theories) AM on my 25th Birthday, kiss my two children (who will then be 4 and 6 years old) and give my husband a huge thank you for letting me have breakfast in bed. These are my plans, my predictions, for that day. Now that I have made that prediction, it must be true, because I am just as much of a person as Nostradamus aren’t I?
I may not be a Mayan, but their Calender doesn’t say that the end of the world comes on that day. It’s just the end of their Calender. The end.
Personally i think that we are all obsessing over something that we have no control over at all. whether you believe in a higher power or not we are all gonna die some day and there is not one thing that anyone can do to stop it. that being said shouldnt we try to live the rest of our lives to the fullest before its too late? i know that when the “end” does happen to roll around (whenever that may be) im not gonna look back and say that i have left things in my life undone. so i suggest that you all stop worrying about things you cant control and just enjoy however long you have left.

Dang, for you people who believe the world will end, you are letting the fears take the control of your life. The fears itself is like the dieases. It takes up ur precious times, worry about when will the world going to the end and then NOTHING happens.(look back what people have done in 1999) What a waste. BTW, there’s no real proof of 2012 but I do believe the earth will die when the sun dies (14 million years later) and comet or astroid could end human’s life. That’s about 30 years or so, with VERY slim chance. Think about it. You, the believer, should enjoy your life and don’t worry about it nor scare us all for nothing.
One more thing, I don’t think we need to know when. It would be better that way.
this topic is very interesting to me; in the last year I have done a huge presentation on what is possible on 12 21 2012. I first approached this topic from a scientific angle. As my research unraveled, I was led to all of the hidden mystical things this documentary discusses. All in all, my presentation brought it all together much in the same way the history channel did. It all fits scientifically- do the research. I’m not saying the world is going to end by any means, but a general awareness may be very important in the years to come.

The fourth “world war” that starts in the middle east, according to Nostradamus, is naturally a reference to the coming struggles against Islamisation and terrorism that is threatening the world. Surely more conflicts are coming from this.

I saw (part) of this documentary yesterday and I have to say it was absolutely terribly done. Connections were made that were completely far-fetched, especially newsreel pictures flashing together with the “prophecy” drawings with no apparent connection at all.
I am very disappointed in the History channel for showing such crap, for several reasons:
- Very complex historical events have been reduced to superficial cliches. For example: the “three devils” are supposed to be Napoleon, Hitler and Osama bin Laden???!? Please! By what standards? From what simplified viewpoint? I am sure you can find a lot of other horrible people in our history!
For example Osama bin Laden: OK, he released a few videotapes, planned some attacks, no one even knows if he is still alive. But what about the complex history of the Mujaheddin movement, what about the US and Soviet warmongering in Afghanistan that led to the existance of such groups?
Terror is of course a danger, but it isn’t nearly as great as some politicians are trying to tell us, and there are far greater dangers for humankind. I mean, very few thousand are killed yearly by terrorists (and that in war zones), millions by illnesses, traffic accidents,…
Napoleon? Yeah he was an invader, like many other generals that were greatly regarded in history, but in the end he lost – and history is written by the winners.
Hitler was of course horrible, but like most leaders he was also often a puppet for his own party with many people planning the horrors in the background.
Others like Stalin ended up killing just as many people, although not as prominently.
- There are more and more bad news? Yes! Because that’s how newsmedia work! Good news are no news!
It never has been saver to live, people are getting older than never before, there are much fewer war casualties than just 30 years ago (a few thousand compared to more than a hundred thousand) – which results from less warmongering and not more peacekeeping by the way! The picture of the world in the documentary is simply drawn from the news, not from actual all-inclusive facts.
- Fewer and fewer people think in such antiquated ways as “good” and “evil”, categorizing people in nationalities or religions will hopefully soon become a thing of the past with more and more globalization! Ethnicities are far more complex and mixed than in Nostradamus’ times. That’s why a world war between reglions is very far-fetched, apart from that no one has economical or other interests in such a war, so it just won’t happen!
- The terrible stellar constellation?!? Please THINK for a moment: OK, I am sure that it is a special event for viewers from Earth such as the Mayans and other amazing civilisations have already found out in their ingenuity. BUT these constellations are just looking like that from viewpoint Earth. Just shift a little in space and there is absolutely NOTHING going on, just the Earth surrounding the Sun like usual in a vast galaxy. All these astrological signs are just based on nothing real at all!

I think that you people are missing big picture here. In this program, these people forgot to mention Quranic words on the END OF THE WORLD.
In ISLAM there is a concept of “JUDGEMENT DAY” when all wil be dead. In Holy Quran the complete even is described very clearly. It is mentioned there that every life in this world will be finshed, moutains will be flying like cottons, sky will be teared off, Sun will be come too close. Then a sound will come after THE END.
I forgot to mention, One of the events duing this above mentioned process is that SUN WILL RISE FROM WEST.
Then once gain ALLAH will rise all dead people and will judge them on their doings in this world. GOOD people will be send to HEAVENS and BAD to HELL. This life in HEAVEN OR HELL based on our doings will ever lasting.

Apologies, in addition to my previous post, are religion and politics not the 2 main causes of war? If there truely is to be a ‘2012 Doomsday’ it will more than likely be the repercussion of your, and indeed; every other religion not being able to get along. Side-tracking from the the original topic of Michael Nostradame’s ramblings, do you not think that, if there was in fact a god, he would be happy that his name is being used as an excuse for fighting and killing? I live my life as a good and honest person, and treat everybody with the respect they deserve, I don’t need the dogmatic hypocrisy of religious warblings to tell me that.
As a person who has lived his whole life in Yucatan (where most of the important mayan cities are) i spot wrong data about them right away. For example, this is the first and only time i hear the mayan ball game-2012 relation. And by the way, it is wrong. The winners of the game were sacrificed, not the losers. This is maya 101 from the most serious studies to the more mundane brochure for tourists. I had a higher opinion of the History Channel, now not so much.

Hey, I’m here in Australia and I’d like to recommend a dvd called, “Nostradamus: His Life and Prophecies”. You may have to hunt around for it as it has been discontinued by the distributor. It’s an American production, but it has a ’special feature’ that is really interesting. It’s an Australian production on the many ancient prophecies. It devotes a lot of time on climate change and world conflicts etc…
I would like to say to all who beleive that the world is going to end in 2012 to relax. No person knows when the world is going to end for the simple fact that God said that nobody would know when he was coming. That he would come like a theif in the night. I do not beleive that prophets do not exist but I do beleive that a person would not have the ability to see the end of the world. As far as Obama being the antichrist no one will know for sure untill the prophet of the antichrist from the BIBLE comes true.
