Is All of This Leading to Something?

Monday January 5, 2009
As I looked back over what happened in the world of UFOs in 2008, it seems that we had more public attention given to the UFO mystery than any other year I can recall.

I have touched on the major reports of 2008 in an earlier blog, and there has been a lot of speculation on what Obama's attitude may be toward disclosure. There are, I believe, a couple of signs that may be promising for us.

On November 5, our President Elect appointed John Podesta as co-manager of the transition process. Podesta is a well known advocate of disclosure, once stating "I think it's time to open the books on questions that have remained in the dark on the question of government investigations of UFOs."

Bill Richardson, former governor of New Mexico, is another cabinet appointee who has been outspoken on the subject. "The federal government has not come clean on all that issue [Roswell UFO] and should."

The Clintons were interested in UFOs also, and were briefed on the subject by the Rockefeller Initiative. I may be wishful thinking here, but it seems that we might have the right group of people in the right place that could push the envelope on disclosure. What do you think?

I don’t think we will see any urgency from the incoming president’s team for disclosure. There are too many other things to be attended to first.
The Clintons, like the Carters, had their chance to explore the subject further and failed to do so.
I just don’t see Obama finding the subject of UFO disclosure to be high on his list of changes.

I agree with Connie, We’ve had the right people in there before and ended up with nothing, so I don’t expect anything to change. Beside that, this secret runs too deep. I don’t think the government will ever disclose. I think if we’re ever to have disclosure it will come from the aliens themselves!

Think about it..if they really do hold the answers to this great mystery and reveal what they know….it would be the real change to be coming wouldnt it. No matter who.. all would have to face the facts.

(4) Cristin says:

I believe the truth about it all is unknown by most government staff. I’m sure there are very few who actually have any answers, and I don’t think they will come forward with them.
The new staff has our collapsing economy to worry about anyhow. Unless UFO’s have something to do with that… haha

Like many others have said, Obama has numerous fires to put out once he takes office. I’m sure the last thing on his mind is UFO disclosure.

But even if a U.S. president wanted the military to come clean on UFO knowledge, would it happen?? I doubt it.

Like I said, it runs too deep. It goes way deeper than the President, and I doubt he even knows the truth! If he were to plan a disclosure, they would more than likely stop him. And they wouldn’t care how.

It’s not that simple guys. ET Disclosure is an International, no…InterGalactical matter, not just something that the USA decides whether to do or not do.
Involved world governments AND the ETs will both have to agree on terms and predicted outcomes way before something like this can happen.

If the wind turbine blade faulted and warped it would have hotted up..sparked and come down. Yes we can theorise technically thats what happened but at the end of the day was it a technical fault or something else?
Nobody has heard of these things faulting until now.

(10) John says:

Shirley, they do happen… comments like this don’t help by Dale Vince.

“To make one of these blades fall off, or to bend it, takes a lot”

&

“Until we have some idea, some plausible explanation that it was not a UFO, I don’t think we should rule it out”.

This does not mean it’s anything spooky just because we don’t know yet what happened. Of course only an investigation will determine what happened and it’s obvious that we won’t know the cause from looking at the photo alone, and from only one day of investigating.

Of course I would love it to be an alien craft with physical remains of the ship left behind from the collision for us to study. That would be great and finally bring the proof that’s needed, but somehow I think that’s unlikely.

Quite conveniently most tabloid newspapers have ignored what engineers have said and have made a lot of the fact that it’s unknown how it was damaged. But again it has to be taken to an appropriate lab for testing to determine that.

Oh but the telegraph has a bit more sense to it.

“Fraser McLachlan of GCube, which insures more than 25,000 wind turbines, said it was extremely unlikely that any external object hit the turbine. He said there were five or six instances a year of blades separating of their own accord, usually due to construction faults.

“Water could have got into hairline cracks in the blade, weakening the structure when it turned into ice, or it’s possible that the blades were just poorly attached to the hub,” he said. “Sometimes machines just break.”

Dr Peter Schubel from the University of Nottingham, an expert in the design and manufacture of wind turbine blades, said that it could have been struck by ice thrown from a neighbouring turbine.

Professor Christopher French of Goldsmiths University in London, editor of The Skeptic magazine, which investigates paranormal claims, said that the lights in the sky could have been caused by aircraft, satellite debris or a meteorite.

“Any of these explanations, plus several others, appear to me to be much more plausible than the idea that technologically advanced aliens have travelled light years across space but then bumped into a wind turbine,” he said.

Mr Vince said that fragments for the blade had been sent for analysis by the manufacturers Enercon, and that they expected to have an explanation by next Wednesday, by when the damaged blade should have been repaired. “We are focusing on the rational, not the paranormal,” he added. ”

So there you go… by next week we’ll know if any physical parts of the ship were left behind… or most likely wasn’t!

The eyewitness account sounds like fireworks, and the photo a lense flare most likely and the video completely unremarkable that could be almost anything due to the low resolution quality.

Dale Vince is the founder of Ecotricity, the owner of the turbine by the way, forgot to add that.

(12) Scott says:

I believe the major media coverage alone during 2008 alone was the biggest boost the EBE/UFO subject has rec’d world wide since the /6/47 press release out of Roswell, NM they the 509th captured a flying saucer.

The windmill ufo seems to me to be dust in the wind as far as any ufo collision. Just weeks ago the Discovery Civilization did a doc on wind energy and showed a similar wind generator damages in the same manner. Apparently, the auto-blade speed adjuster went haywire and failed to turn the blade to lessen the increasing revolutions per minute and the speed increase caused one of the blades to break lose. This was months before this report attempting to make it a ufo involved accident. High winds and and a flash of lightening might be all it is.

It precisely this kind of built up story that hurts respectability of the EBE/UFO subject and Researchers making the reports of real encounters.

(13) Sharalyn says:

My opinion is that that there is not going to be an option, that like this year, “they” are going to present themselves much more openly and the press is going to be more open and the issue will just emerge so often that it becomes undeniable.

(14) Frank says:

It would be most refreshing to think that the Obama administration might finally lift the cover off the UFO phenomenon, but I doubt it will happen. Such promises are not unprecedented and have yet to be realized.

I think the primary reasons concern the incredibly high level of secrecy surrounding UFOs has to do with having to admit that the government(s) has been lying to us all along. There would be a tremendous outcry for accountability, and no politician wants to put his head on the block for such an admission.

A related question is whether there has also been contact with alien civilizations and an exchange of technology. Related to this, in turn, is the question of alien abductions (with experimentation, hybridization etc.) occurring with our own government’s awareness and approval.

The admission by the government that such technology exists would compromise its strategic value for intelligence and military purposes. It could also disrupt many aspects of our economy– imagine the impact on the airline industry, should such technology suddenly surface.

Social and cultural shock might also prove most problematic. As has been discussed many times in other forums, we would finally be faced with the reality that our religious beliefs might be totally off-base, especially if it is revealed that aliens have been present on Earth for eons, and have played a key role in our evolution and development– so much for Adam and Eve. Other revelations might include alien exploratin and development of resources on other planets in our solar system, and similar activities over untold periods of time in other galaxies, etc. Imagine the impact of such revelations on our sense of security and control of our planet. Likewise, we would be faced with the additional reality that our weapons would be all but useless against such a superior technological capability. That we still exist suggests strongly that we do so only because of a benevolent or the passive, indifferent nature of far more advanced beings. (Is Earth and its inhabitants really nothing more than an extraterrestial petri dish?)

Others have expressed an intention– before taking office (and getting briefed)– only to become totally closed mouth after assuming office about UFOs. It begs the question, what agency/ international power base has such control to maintain such secrecy? As has been demonstrated repeatedly in the past (Manhattan Project, U-2, SR71, F-117 stealth fighter, probably the Aurora, etc.) our government has demonstrated excellent capacity for keeping the lid on highly classified projects. Even so, the likes of Bob Lazar, the many UFO crashes reported world-wide, sightings over the nation’s capitol in 1952, reports of astronaut space encounters, a continually growing assortment of phots and videos, reports of sightings, encounters and abductions, etc., reflect clearly that total secrecy is impossible for any lengthy period of time.

The significant increase in such reports over the past few years suggests strongly that such revelations may finally be not far off. Even so, we can help speed the process by continuing to demand an end to secrecy and stone-walling, and accountability of our nation’s leaders.
