Veteran Pilot Films UFOs over New Jersey

Monday January 12, 2009
In the last month, there have been four or five very compelling reports of UFOs over New Jersey. Almost all of the reports have been of multiple objects. One of the best documented reports comes to us from a veteran airplane pilot.

Pilot Paul Hurley caught with his video camera a formation of lights which were hovering over his backyard in Whippany. He told a Fox news reporter:

"A little scary. We didn't really know what they were. They were very bright red lights,"

Hurley said. "I've been in the aviation industry for about 20 years, so I knew they weren't airplanes."

Check out the full report, and see the video at Veteran Pilot Catches UFO on Tape in New Jersey, and let us know what you think about it.

i think its time we broke out that weather balloon story theory that 75 yrs old again im sure thats what this is not! dont ask the airforce because thats what theyll say it is instead monitor theyre radio freqs and look at theyre flight log books and see if they felt the need to suddenly blackout any entries im sure if theyre just balloons than nothing was scrambled!

OK. the explanation is clear….Someone hasn’t taken their Christmas light down yet and that’s what he saw twinkling. Seriously, it’s strange they were blinking in and out like that. Maybe someone’s trying the flare thing again, or lit lanterns attached to balloons. No idea what it could be, but thanks for this story. It will be interesting if someone comes forward or not. Maybe more info will come out one way or the other.

This type of sighting is all over the place. I wish there was a way to get it on film with nightvision or something. They only seem to appear at night and that’s a problem when we try to prove the sightings. We need to get the object clearly on video by multiple witness’.
It’s possible they could be our own, developed from alien tech.

I’m sick of all these terrible “random lights in the sky” sightings. Either the witness sees a spaceship/craft or not. Lights in the night sky, as odd as they may seem, do not constitute a UFO sighting. It’s simply too vague. Who knows what these lights are? …they could be almost anything.

I agree and that’s the point, until we can get a good look at what’s behind them, they are just lights in the night sky. But these kinds of lights are very intriguing. If you do a little research on them, you will find that they rotate around a single light source showing that they are connected. I don’t know too many aircraft that rotate. Unless someone is sending up an enormous balloon… a balloon in the size range of about 1/2 mile to 1 mile across. That’s one huge balloon.
We need to see through the darkness at what’s behind those lights, simple as that!

If these sightings are “UFO’s”and are so far advanced of US,why would they even need lights especially if they don’t want to be seen?If they do want to be seen, why don’t they just land in broad daylight?
Also, when people want to trick the idiots, they will fool them by using lights, candles, flares etc. because these show up much better at night. Is this too simple for all you scientists to follow?

(7) SUZIE says:

I use to live around there and I still read their local paper on line, the article stated that it was flares attached to balloons. Now all of the sudden they are saying they don’t know what it is. Oh well

So they’re unidentified…

*cough* Unidentified Flying Objects *cough*

But yeah, I get your point. We can’t exactly say a lot about sightings of a few odd lights seen at a distance.

I BELIEVE THESE THINGS HAVE BEEN COVERED UP FOR YEARS AND ALWAYS WILL BE. WE ARE KEPT IN THE DARK SO WE DON’T END UP KILLING OURSELVES WITH THINGS WE CAN’T EVEN COMPREHEND YET. ANY FLYING OBJECT OBVIOUSLY EVEN FROM THE MILITARY WOULD HAVE TO HAVE LIGHTS SO OTHER PLANES WONT COLLIDE WITH THEM. THE PUBLICITY
OF THE SIGHTINGS ARE KEPT LOW OBVIOUSLY SO THE DEMANDING OF WHAT HAPPENED EVENTUALLY CONVENIENTLY FADES AWAY. OUR GOVERNMENT ALWAYS KNOWS WHATS UP OR THEY WOULD NOT BE OUR GOVERNMENT. NOTHING FLIES IN OUR SKIES WITHOUT THEM KNOWING IT, AND DON’T PUT IT PAST
ANYONE TO TRY TO BLOG UFO CAN BE ANYTHING SO NO SENCE IN THINKING ABOUT IT. REALITY IS SOMETHING “WAS” THERE AND THE AUTHORITIES ARE NOT SAYING WHAT IT “WAS” OR IF WE NEED PROTECTING FROM IT NOW OR EVER, QUESTIONS NEED TO BE ANSWERED EVEN IF THE ANSWER IS “WE NEED TO BE KEPT IN THE DARK IN ORDER TO PROTECT US” AT LEAST SAY THAT.

I doesn’t look like that much to your average video blogger, but the guy with 20 years experience in aviation was impressed plus other people from across town also saw them. These lights look connected to a craft, and wittnesses said it was sitting still.

its definately swamp gas or a weather balloon…

(11) John says:

I saw them last night again around 8:00pm in Morristownship/Whippany NJ. on Thurs 01/22/09
They where not aircraft. Very very bright red. They hung together for about twenty minutes going west to east. They went over the Morristown airport. I showed them to my neighor. They where so obvious millions of people should have seen them.
There might be a pattern.

(12) this guy says:

i saw them as well, and although i am not sure what they were, i doubt they were balloons…or anything that wasnt controlled. alothough they were moving around the were still in the same relative location. wouldnt anyhting else just end up floating away?…and i was by some airport by route 10 so they may have a connection with that place…or maybe some other pilots may have seen them closer….i dont know…..lol

(13) cdawg says:

I saw the on january 29 at about 7:30. I watched the for 5 minutes. 5 red lights not in any particular formation when I saw them. Then they disappeared 1 by 1. So for the sightings occurred the first time Jan 5. The next times were Jan 22 and Jan 29. Anyone else see them on the 29th?
