Unknown Object Photographed over Wichita, Kansas

A recent photograph of a structured object of unknown origin has raised some controversy. The image was photographed over Wichita, Kansas, in early February.
The object, seen above, is impossible to accurately describe, but one can say for certain that it is not a balloon, conventional aircraft, or anything else that regularly flies through our skies.
The man who took the photograph was taking shots for a construction project when he heard a strange sound, like a fan blowing. He looked up to find the object, then saw it drop down a bit, and then speed away at amazing speed.
By his own admission, he is quite knowledgeable about airplanes, and is sure he has never seen anything quite like the object he captured with his camera.

Vaguely looks like a shadowy figure of a black cat, Hard to say what it really resembles. Rather ghostly looking. Can’t easily speculate as to what it may be.
It is weird looking, that’s for sure. It really looks like something out of an old si-fi movie or something. Has that really “60’s” star treck futuristic, (but not so futuristic) look to it.

It looks like some kind of creature–like a mutant bird, or something. It’s bizarre!
Julie, who gives her opinion on that link, says that it’s some kind of airplane–two airplanes! One’s refueling the other. Another woman said they live near an air force base.
But someone else said he saw it and it was standing still, floating. Planes don’t float!

It was the noise that suddenly got his attention and apparently it sped away at amazing speed for which I discount a bird. I can only think of a military jet manouver.

This is a photo of the new type aircraft given to former presidents of the United States, in this case – G.W.Bush. No question – that’s a photo of Air Force None.
its a bird flying to the right. you can see its beak and the wings are in mid flap. once you see it you wont see anything else.

Please. Billy! Why do you entertain crap like this as some other worldly thing? It is a picture of a 747 with the space shuttle piggy backing on it. This picture has turned up in other places as well. The person describing the “sighting” is full of crap.
Based on the consistency of genuine ufo sightings/encounters reported, alien space crafts do not make so much of a humming/hissing noise. Moving forward, the fact that he stated it was a noise that captured his attention, is a clear indication of the fact that he is just another loser that is polluting this hot subject with yet another stupid false report. In the words of the wise men from the popular t.v. series Mythbusters, this report is BUSTED!
It really does look like the shuttle carrier. As well as it does a bird. The more I look at it the more I’m convinced it’s one or the other.

I live in Wichita. The same day this happened there was a large refueler and a jet flying around. This picture is taken with the jet further out and behind the refueler. Not a UFO.

The video, with Spanish conversation in the background, shows a light in the distant sky, which then falls slowly to ground above a nearby forest to land amidst a group of observers and their parked cars, at which point it becomes very bright … and then it ends. … Like don’t tell me what happened next …
This is one of the new planes trying in usa, of course is not a ufo.
Looks like a 747 carrying the space shuttle piggy back. Though it’s hard to tell how big it maybe since there’s nothing to use as reference. Love these intriguing pics.
These types of INCIDENTS SHOULD BE REPORTED TO MUFON OR ANY OTHER GOVT . THESE MAY HAVE SLIPPED THROUGH RADAR AND NEED ATTENTION IMEDIATELY REPORT ANY UNKNOWN OBJECTS TO LAW ENFORCEMENT OR MUFON OR ANY AIRBASE REPORT THEM THE SECOND YOU SEE THEM, advanced aircraft from other countries needs to be known right the second of sightings GOD BLESS THE USA

It really does look like a shuttle piggy-backed on a larger jet. I saw one up close when it landed at Altus Air Force Base a while back, but the photo is still unclear for me to say for sure. As always good comments and take care.
On second thought, I looked up some large scale RC model planes, and a few of them could probably pass for this, or pretty close. I also think this might explain the sound of a “fan” and the sudden “dropping down” and “speeding away”. Just a thought.

Boeing has a presence in Wichita and they build helicopters. Could be a next-generation chopper.

I think it’s just another thing the government has made and was flying a test mission in , it looks manmade . I dont think it’s e.t this time .Besides it looks like it wanted to be spotted and that would also be a government set up .

Kevin, the guy made up the story. His story is crap. This same picture has appeared on other sites and has had different stories attatched. It is the shuttle.
looks like a bird flying close – from right to left see pointed beak, body, wings right where they should be, and tail feather.
