Clear Photos of Triangle UFO over S. Carolina
Yesterday I received three clear, daylight photographs of an unknown object of triangular shape. Now, I cannot say exactly what the object in question is. But, I did some research into the photos, and they are not created in a photo program, they are taken directly from a Konica Minolta-DiMage Z20 camera, with all of the meta data intact.
Now, I have been fooled before, and I can still be fooled, but I believe you will agree with me that these are very compelling photographs. They were taken on March 16, in South Carolina. The man who sent them is very sincere, and I honestly don't believe he would perpetuate a hoax. He asked for nothing other than me taking a look at them.

Very compelling photos… especially the second one. Perhaps an experimental military craft???
Fake. Just look at the image at full screen, it looks rendered in with a gray background… Overcast? Are you kidding me? Nice try Greg but you’ve got way too much time (or not enough to make it convincing) on your hands.
In Clover, SC, Between 2:30am and 3am this morning (March 20, 2009) I was watching television when I saw through my bedroom window what appeared to be a bright light traveling quickly through the sky from west to south east. It was above the neighboring mill, and trees, and had the same intensity to my eyes as a neighbor’s yard light. To bright and fast to be an airplane or something orbiting in space. At first I thought it was a roman candle some kids had left over from New Years. Perhaps it was. But it had an unusual greenish glow and it did not make a sound. Anybody’s guess really. No reports were made to the local Police Department by anyone else.
It looks like ink splotches on a grey surface.
experimental aircraft, you can clearly see wings and a tail in one photograph if you zoom in and also try using a magnifying glass.
I say it’s a hoax. Exif data would be a clincher though because I think it’s simply a drawing.
It seems like military aircraft, the wing in the middle picture can be seen, at least that’s what they appear to be to me. We do have similar looking aircraft.
WOW! First time I’ve seen a picture of a triangle craft with fins! That one is man made…based on E.T. tech of course!
This is NOT an Alien Spaceship! It’s an experimental craft using something called a Rotary Plasma Engine. At the centre of the triangle is a hollow doughnut type enclosure, Mercury is heated to a plasma which rushes round and round the doughnut. It’s supercooled at one of the three edges of the triangle, causing massive expansion which equals thrust. By balancing the thrust from the three sides, it’s possible to guide the craft. Sorry folks.
I have to agree with Paul, it looks like a 3D rendering to me. .
Looks like the fabled Aurora craft.
Cool if it is
Mark OMG that was a really cool comment…..I can’t believe you know that stuff or even made up something so elaborate (only saying that not to seem so eager to believe everything I hear; or NAIVE). How do you know all of that and are you pulling everyone’s leg…..I believe you are going to have to show some credentials SIR!!!!
I’ve said it before, to be completely dogmatic as either a true believer or a skeptic is tiresome. These photos fall into the category of compelling yet suspect since there is nothing in the photo except the object to give any perspective. I lean towards an experimental, man made craft of some sort, but wouldn’t rule out some type of hoax without more information.
Seeing something, defines your vision
and your brain concurs the thoughts. The
photos of ‘what a manmade object is’ when
heard, seen, observed, and of course
photographed, is the reality of what you saw.
Now, would the local science community
add up the owner, and ask him do they use
their airspace appropriately? As others
that do fly, have to have clearances.
I thought the witness’s discription of his sighting was very brief. I would think a hoaxer would have a more eloborate story. But its either a hoax or something very much out of the ordinary.
Scott: There were reports here in Western NC around the same time of a fireball streaking across the sky.
As for the UFO photos, they are certainly interesting! That have not been altered since they examined the meta data and had they been altered that would have shown up there. I will forward these to Stanton Friedman since he will be on the show Friday and see what he thinks, as well as a couple other UFO researchers I know. If they have anything to say about them I will let you all know! Great post!
PS: I would very much like to know where is SC these photos were taken!
Upon closer exmination, I’m leaning heavily to the hoax side. The “overcast” sky seems too uniform in color. I don’t think I’ve ever seen an overcast sky that uniform in color. It looks like a gray sheet of paper with a black cutout on it.
Assuming this isn’t a hoax or CG fake, take note of several key, important features. First, the craft closely follows the aerodynamic fundamentals of a lifting-body concept, as demonstrated by the X-24A/B program back in the 60’s. The purpose of that “X” program was to lay the groundwork for a high speed, high altitude craft which would be able to ride it’s own shock wake. Secondly, note the inward-canted vertical stabilizers, a hallmark design feature of numerous Lockheed designed aircraft (namely the SR-71). Lastly, note the slightly chopped tips on the trailing edges ala F-22. There’s a specific aerodynamic reason (maneuverability) for this feature that comes into play during very high speeds. Finally, North and South Carolina have both been considered ‘hotspots’ for large black and white triangular unidentified aircraft sightings. I believe this photo represents one of two things. A) It’s a fake created by someone with more than laymens knowledge of black budget aircraft programs. B) It’s a real military aircraft that one lucky individual happened to snap while being in the right place at the right time.
It is not a UFO in terms of being an ‘outerworldly’ craft, which would have absolutely no use for vertical stabilizers. I would love to know more about the source of these photos and where the actual geographic location is.
just fire the laser at it and see if its real.air force probably scared too much if the laser misses…
interesting, “whoa”!
My guess is this is the Aurora military airplane. It seems to have vertical stabilizers similar to the SR-70 spy plane. Just my guess.
Thanks for your Website.
From the perspective of a professional graphic/web designer (who uses Photoshop on a daily basis…) and a skeptical believer, I’m saying this is obviously photoshopped. Who, pray tell, examined this “meta-data?” You do know that information can be faked, right? Just looking at the photographs it looks like someone took a polygon lasso, filled it with black and performed some blur effects on the object to smooth edges, although they did a very poor job in some of the photos. My conclusion: obvious and poorly executed photoshop hoax.
For the past 4 days we have had alien movement in the skies here in the Mtns. We have 39 photos so far. I am in awe! Everytime a plane goes near it the light stills and it looks like a star. The pictures do not show a saucer or anything like I heard about, but you can see the transformation of the light colors in the photos. If any of you are curious and in the Landrum area look toward Lake Lanier. It seems to start hovering in that direction around 9 or 10 o’clock. Be sure to wait look for a lower star and it starts blinking and swerving a bit on the gravity. The lights go to a bluish-red-white. If you take pictures keep taking because it changes. Put your camera on Nightmode there is a moon icon. Zoom out and watch.
Hi,
Just happened along and looked at those photos of the South Carolina triangle. If those photos are genuine, I just can’t help but feeling that this person captured the replacement craft for the SR-71 or an even later one. Notice the black color of the craft and the surfaces. The twin tail seems to be attached to a lifting body, something that is definitely earth like and is used on the shuttle. An alien craft would have no use for a tail if it were powered by an anti-gravity engine as many think. I bet Dr. Bruce Maccabee would love to analyze these photos.
Good Luck with the site.
It appears this object is traveling to the left in the first picture and to the right in the other two. Did the first picture just get reversed somehow? The witness says he observed the object from a great distance. It doesn’t seem likely that the object would have reversed direction in the time it was being photographed. I would like to hear a much more detailed account of this sighting from the witness.
Okay, let me reiterate: this is an OBVIOUS FAKE! I have plenty of reasons as far as being a graphic designer: 1) the object is far too polygonal and sharp. If this was a real object at some distance on an overcast day there would be no such sharp edges. Pixelation is extremely easy to see, as are blur effects which were not used on all the photographs. This was OBVIOUSLY created with a polygon lasso tool and some burning and bluring effects. I am seriously considering making a Youtube video of me duplicating this exact photo…wouldn’t take more than 1 minute, guaranteed. If anyone doesn’t believe me and is curious for the video, I will do it. I just don’t feel this deserves such attention and creedence with so little factual evidence. Meta data is also very easily created and changed by ANY image software, even freeware such as Ifran View. So, saying meta data is intact is as meaningless as saying the file name matched up. ANYONE can edit and alter this information, it is meaningless! Any takers on my argument, post away.
David has excellent points about the clues that these photos are likely CG fakes.
But, let me play devil’s advocate for a moment. If I were going to fake three photos of a stealth plane, I’d do a little more research. The smooth back edge and low-angle inward-oriented verticle stabilizers on the tail are engineering approaches that have been largely abandoned for much more stable configurations such as the stabilizer and trailing edge configuration of the often photographed stealth fighter (outward-canted v-shaped vertical stabilizers) and the B2 stealth bomber (no rear verticle stabilizer.)
The craft in these photos most closely resembles the F-19 toy model by Testors which was produced before photos of the actual military stealth planes were made public.
It could be a cousin of the BAE Systems Tararis stealth UAV currently being tested. The Tararis has a smoother trailing edge than the U.S. stealth designs, but no rear verticle stabilizers.
It does somewhat conform to the “leaked” descriptions of the fabled Aurora vehicle, which has curiously never been photographed by anyone, including foreign governments, which casts doubt on it’s very existence.
But the those verticle stabilizers are far too square to be stable at high speeds, and should be much further apart and not so steeply angled. They could be articulated to close downward at high speeds, presumably.
Officially, I’m no expert. Officially. But if the photos are not outright fakes, then this is more likely an expensive custom RC model or a stealth drone prototype, the latter being rather unlikely, considering where it was alleged to have been spotted.
the south carolina photo is a fake. do you know how they did it? remember before pulltabs on soda or beer cans, you had to open the can with a pointed can opener that was pushed downward and left a triangular opening. this is all they did then they took a close up photo of the top of the can. ingenious…eh??
DarkMatter your comment about the Testors model was good as the both have the tilted inward tail. I am on the fence but leaning towards it being real. I would like to see more photos and will check the archives in case I forgot an earlier appearance. Someone said it looked like a waverider but it is not a match.
I don’t think it’s an opened beer can but I can see how someone would think that in one of the pictures.
I don’t think David “knows” it’s a PS job but rather he suspects it. We have as much proof that David is a PS expert as we do that this is a picture of a military skunk works project.
Remote controlled airplane.
it mybe an alien space ship but not for mission inporsible just want to know someting here on earth
Wow! That creeps me out! What I don’t get is that there are many different types of UFOs seen, and rarely any exactly alike. The pictures are great evidence though.
Greetings!
I believe, because some years ago I saw a triangular ufo and it was more dark than the night sky. To be honest I saw other strange ufos but, I don’t want to talk much about it.
In the greer, greenville area of south carolina, You can see all kinds of ufo activity every night. this started in January of 2008. The activity has escalated every month since then, I have so many triangle, star orbs and other phenomena I delete alot of the video and photos that are not what I consider hi- quality. Alot of people around these parts are ignorant and except a sighting thinking Its just a plane or helicopter. We have an International Airport called GSP. That is reason people dont really question what they see in the sky.On On April 5, 2009 I witnessed @ 5 am est what could have been considered an invasion. The sky in a 360 degree radius was filled with hundreds of star orbs moving fluidly about the sky.
I have been doing research on UFO sightings after watching an epeisode of Unsolved Mysteries.I became intrested in the subject and decided to look up more information. The research on the computer shows people who have taken pictures or saw it with their own eyes. Some pictures show triangular shapes of UFO sightings. I have been doing research for almost 4 years after the show had aired. I do believe that this is a possibility of a clear picture of a UFO sightings.
it is one of those stealth bombers….
third pic shows the left wing….
100% Aurora no doubt
john
I imported the ‘original’ images off of the UFO Casebook pages and manipulated the Exposure, Contrast, etc. I found that except for the first image the ‘object’ appears to be three dimensional. The ‘fins’ or ‘Rudders’ that appear on the top of the craft show different lighting, while there appears to be a flat triangular underside, virtually no wings to speak of in conventional terms, and two large ‘exhaust’ openings at what looks like the rear (3rd photo).
The object could indeed be a good 3-D image photoshopped onto a gray background, or it could be a real craft. When the sharp photos are blown up it can be seen that there is pixelation along the edges which I would think is consistent with a properly focused photo. (It reminds me of photos taken at air shows which I have seen.)
Since there are no trees or other land marks, nor any other identifiable objects in the air near this black triangle, it is difficult to say it isn’t CGI. But it does appear to be a 3-D object of an unconventional terrestrial (i.e. ‘man made’) aircraft.
For something that was pretty far away and in the picture takers words could bearly be made out in the lcd screen the first picture seems blurry with rounded edges, which would be normal for a pic of something far way i would think. The 2nd and 3rd pics seem very close up and the edges are sharp and clear. For pictures that havent been edited its very odd how 2nd and 3rd are crystal clear when they should be a bit more blurry. You know all real alien pics are blurry so you always have that bit of doubt. Eveer seen a clear perfect pic of a space ship or bigfoot or nessie the lochness creature? Nope always blurry. This is to clear and perfect to be a real alien craft. But the guy who posted about the Rotary Plasma Engine, wow now that sounds like some neat stuff. /me goes to google that bad boy.
I think that these pics need to be examined more as to what type of craft it could be, I do think that it is military tech.(I used to be Security Forces in the U.S.A.F., seen some wierd things with that job) as far as Kevin, and Paul, Atrueoriginall, Unseeable, and David,(By the way david, do your little computer thing, would love to see you waste some more time.)By the way John, you must be an Aurora Pilot since you know 100%, good thing we have another know it all here! And Orton, thank god you’re an expert as well with your stealth bomer theory. Mark………you are totally nuts or should not be talking about things you know like that if its at all true what you are saying. Which leads me to believe the one with the mouth leak doesnt know as much as they say, or the government will eventually make you disappear. I can only agree with Jennifer in that you should produce some credentials. And all the rest of you non believers. Come on people, open your little brains to the thought that you dont need a smoking gun to have the 100% proof that it exists. Most of this stuff, if it exists is probably way to advanced for us to even comprehend, and would blow our little brains wide open. Just for a second, try to believe that there is something bigger than you out there that cant be explained away so easily as a hoax, or “I know exactly what type of craft that is” Open your mind to the unusual, and question everything, but also be a believer that anything could possibly happen at any given moment.
now imagine that we have planes that can fly and evade radar, fly by themselves and make important target kills and disappear right in front of your eyes. Nah! this is a fake of course!! now go back to your life..
I have seen a triangle space ship up close. the year was 2004. So I know it is REAL. I think it is from another world or dimension. Many space aliens are visiting the earth and have visited the earth since the beginning of civilation.
Greer, SC continues to be a hotbed for ufo activity. Best view times are between 12 midnight to sunrise. This is no joke, if you dont believe ufo’s are real come to greer, sc. If your patient you’ll start to notice objects in the sky that appear to be stars are not stars after all. Once you see the way these things move you will become a believer. Our goverment does possess the technology to produce objects that manuever in the way these things move around. The prime area is the wade hampyon blvd. buncombe rd. intersection. If your local judge for yourself. I’ll leave it at that!
Correction on my last comment:OUR GOVERNMENT DOES NOT POSSESS THE TECHNOLOGY TO MANUEVER THESE THINGS IN THE WAY THAT THEY MOVE.
Whether that image is real or not, I’m telling you those things are real… In all seriousness. I’m not lying about this in any way, but I have honest to god seen a triangle UFO. I’m not saying I was obducted by aliens. I’m not saying aliens exist. I’m not saying that aliens were even flying it. I wouldn’t know. All I know is what my step brother and I saw. Let me tell you, its not comforting.
Yes, looks like something from area 51, I’m not saying it’s little green men ether. It’s the fact of the wings in the back of the object. Looks like the stealth fighter area 51 made. And Paul it’s not a hoax because when you click the image to enlarge it’s not the cam zooming it’s the computer doing it for you. Witch will cause the object to blind in with the gray, you wouldn’t see the gray do the same it’s one solid collar.
What is the location of the sighting? If this craft flew over an urban populated area, that would rule out experimental aircraft. The military would not take the risk of a crash.
this is either a military aircraft or a hoax. i say hoax because the photos look too clear. consumer camera equipment isn’t of substantial quality to capture the level detail and clarity seen here
This is no hoax. I seen this same thing in Georgia in 1996. It was hovering about 75 ft. off the ground. I watched it for several minutes then it brightened up anddisappeared without a trace.
It looks like an updated version of the lifting bodies from the seventies.
To tell if these images are fakes or not is difficult. The resolution is to low to determin the reality (2MB pixel camera – black and white?). Processing the images in Photoshop CS3 shows that the jpeg artifacts in the object is different then the artifacts in the gray sky. Exif: no problem faking those if you have the right program.
I know that the photo is real beacous i’v seen one too.
this seems to be the aurora spy-plane, it seems to have been photographed many times before (look for aurora spyplane on google);
now there are 2 remarkable things about it, if this is the aurora, then it looks a lot like the similar ‘belgium triangle ufo’, this was viewed by many people (thousands!) in 1989/1990. Then the puzzling thing is: if they have the technology for more than 20/30 years, what are they doing with these machines?
another puzzle: those flying triangles have been viewed from the beginning of the 70′ies… so they have been around for many more years… is this alien technology being re-build and tested; or just plain US Airforce technology…
Question remains: if this is part of the black budget operations, how many dollars have been put into building these machines; they can keep floating, seems to be they work with some new gravitational energy, which needs a lot of enegry, do they power it nuclear? or zero-point energy…
in view of the climate change mr Obama might have to take a look into this… if they allow him of course…
The gray background and black object in all the photos have very little color variance. Indicating that the background and object are too even in color to be natural.
If I had to guess as to how the image was produced, I’d say the background was created by spray painting a piece of cardboard, then placing a black paper (or cardboard) cutout of the object on the spray painted cardboard. The Konica Minolta-DiMage Z20 camera has a good macro ability, so it wouldn’t have any difficulty taking a good close up photo, thus keeping the meta data intact.
Images taking at a distance, by the same camera, display a slight fuzziness throughout the image. There are no sharp delineations as evidenced in the supposed UFO images taken by Greg.
In my humble opinion, I have to conclude that the images are fakes.
Being a South Carolinian I had hoped Greg had gotten something factual, but alas, no such luck.
My husband and I saw these lights in oct of 06.There was one light then Two then three. We were waiting for the 10pm plane to take off from GSP airport. The only thing I can add is the fact that there were two jets watching. When it came over the house.t. Then ther craft took off fast and all that was left werer the jets leading me to think they came from the Donaldson Center and Lockheed because this is were they were headed. The look of the craft is the same as the pics.
august 2008 while in my back yard at 3pm saw a hi speed object moving west to east est 4,000 mph at 30
miles alt. a few min later went south to north. no
noise. next day, same time clear sky, the object went west to east, then did afast 180 hovered rite
above me, descended to about 60k feet , clearly saw
a lrg mostly circuler craft with a square stern and
4 visible engine ports. retractable winglets appeared as the craft slowed and nearly hovered. the
winglets were retracted and the craft quickly and silently rose an went west. i est speed at 4000mph
initial alt 30 miles. i’m a retired meteorologist and have viewd the skies for 35 years. this was not
a satellite or alien spacecraft.
