UFO Disappears into Thin Air

By , About.com GuideMay 15, 2009

Follow me on:

Here is a report from a man in Texas who says that he saw a UFO on April 5, this year. He claims that the sky was blue and clear as he was sitting in his living room and eating a snack with his young son. As they talked, the man happened to look outside.

Through a large, plate glass window, he saw a shiny, disc-shaped object, slowly moving through the skies. He had never witnessed anything like this before. He said that at arm's length, the object would have been the size of a penny.

Amazingly, as he watched the object move toward the west, it simply vanished into thin air in the cloudless sky. Could this unknown object have slipped into our dimension from theirs, or was it just another everyday object misidentified?

Do us a favour and please remove the simpleton’s comments, it only destroys this site’s credibility.

It seems more and more people are seeing the same kind of disc shaped object seem to disappear, as I did the other day. Intriguing!

Lets not make hasty decisions about space, time dimension, splitting. If we are not jet up to the task of understanding a phenomenon lets not make it even worst. Lets just sort those data. Object recorded, trajectory of an object, shape and etc. Maybe someone seen it also? Lets gather those data. For now, we are noting more than observers. Lets keep it that way for now.

Give me a break people. Nobody is even talking about Billy’s actual post here. Why are we putting our comments out about some little moron who has nothing better to do than sit in front of his computer all day and well I think we all know what he does……anyway….I agree that there seem to be more and more sightings that are similar and it is just too bad that everybody just doesnt have a camera ready…. Thanks Billy for another great short story sighting.

Some of these comments are a prime example of how humanity is becoming so dumbed down and demonstrate their intellect to be at best half-wit. It is not meant as an insult, it’s more an observation with the evidence provided being some of the comments here.

Yes Bill box thornton it’s a free country for you to behave silly, and not care about how others perceive you. But then it’s hardly surprising when you’re mocked is it?

Freedom of speech is fine but please contribute something more than “look at me I’m a stupid hick and I’m proud of it”.

It’s quite a simple concept that even you half-wits should be able to understand…. well, it appears not!

The problem is nobody carries a camera with them 24/7 and often these kind of sightings require a zoom function to record anything worthwhile, which rules out mobile phone cameras as valued footage most of the time.

Often these sightings only last around 15-30 seconds, and since it can take around 10 seconds for you to realise it’s something unusual and by the time you fetch your camera it’s gone. Even if you were in your home at the time of the sighting.

In actual fact you would be better off not taking your eyes off it, and try to remember as much as possible. Although ask a friend to fetch a camera if possible, but don’t look away as there’s nothing worse than looking away and looking back 3 seconds later and it’s gone. You never really know what happened in those 3 seconds. And of course even if you were to take a photo, it would never be considered proof so you are better trying to get your own proof seen with your own eyes. And if you see something disappear in a clear sky in a split-second, or you actually see it whizz away, then you would have a hard-time trying to explain it without considering ETs.

I’m still amazed how amateur astronomers never see these things even though they look towards the sky so often, and yet I can glance out of a window and there they are! And that’s happened on 3 occasions although in different locations. I can only put it down to pure chance.

(11) Jennifer says:

John,
I don’t think it is mere conincidence or chance that you have seen them on numerous occasions without warning and just in a split second. The reason it is not chance is I truly believe that not everyone can see them. I think there may be a mental block in some and not in others. You know all brains are not the same and nobody sees the same animal in the game where you try to make a picture out of a cloud. Seriously, it is all about mental blocks. You are Wide Open.

(13) John says:

anonymouse, have the heard the saying: “the crazy person never realised that they were crazy because they assumed everyone else were being crazy”

Now what do you think is more likely: everyone apart from you is crazy, or that you have lost the plot?!

Have a nice day.

Since when does someone have to be crazy to know someone else is crazy??!

A psychologist will know many nutcases and yet he/she will remain sane.

Or are you implying you’re so insane that all of your family/friends etc have also lost the plot as well, therefore you being a great cause of madness.

Are you going to surprise me by saying something rational or continue being silly.

Is that all you’ve got to say anonymouse. Is that it!…you just repeat something I said and you don’t even make a good case for it. I doubt you could even speak a sentence better than your typing, meaning you couldn’t even debate dog-poo. Oh look I’ve given you a word for your vocabulary; maybe you could make at least a little sentence with that!

Not even the most patient person on here can now be bothered to read what you’ve got to say anymore. Although I will come back to read other people’s comments. Goodbye simple mouse; is your name in real-life Simon, it would suit you to the core to be named simple Simon. Anyway I’m done having fun with you, go squeak to someone else and watch their feet when you scuttle away from them chasing some cheez, most likely to another forum to create your miniscule havoc (rather a minor annoyance, funnily enough just like a real mouse would do – somebody call pest control?!).

Well at least you contributed something in the grand scheme of things; but don’t forget we all laughed at you, and not with you anonymouse.

anonymouse, excuse me, cyber stalker???? What the hell are you talking about? I just asked if you were 10 or something… how does that make me a stalker? I don’t go on any other blogs by the way… I very rarely go on you tube. You have no right to call me all the names you called me. I think you’re the schizophrenic…

You never post anything on here related to the blog posts. Everyone knows you just come here to make an ass of yourself trying to make a mockery of this blog. It’s annoying.

(22) JENNIFER says:

I really truly come here to see what everyone else has to say about each post I find interest in…….WHAT REALLY BLOWS IS THAT all of you just need to go to a chat site and P%ss and Moan about each other. Why are you really even on this post if you aren’t going to discuss the post. I overlook the stupid comments by the morons and I have to agree with David that it is hard to tell who the bigger moron is since all of you are joining in……LIKE i said go somewhere else to chat I want to comment back and forth with people that are here for the same reason I am. JERKS!!

May 20, 2009 at 5:53 pm
(23) John says:

@ David

I’d put it more like “Don’t argue with the fools, tell them that they are idiots and give a good explanation why for those onlookers who don’t see that it’s bloody obvious!”

@ Jennifer

So you add your own even bigger moan to the list because of a disagreement on something extremely minor and you think that’s fine, but fail to see why there has been an obvious previous disagreement that some of us have had with a numbnut who’s ambitions are less than that of a mouse’s.

You have either a). made the problem you described worse by moaning, and/or b). tried to discredit this forum as anonymouse attempted to do, possibly inadvertently, possibly not.

Now I’m not arguing, just pointing out the flaws in your own logic. And you should see the humour in making fools such as anonymouse look foolish by making it more apparent to them, and then they disappear for good hopefully, which is for the good of the credibility of this forum. Or even better they start to become rational in their comments, although I’ve found that it rarely happens, if ever.

Now before anyone says just discuss the story… I already have done. I’ll also add that this story has little to discuss anyway, and that if the author wants more meaningful discussion on ufos, write more detail about such sightings, or just stick to the stories which have more to write about and therefore will be of greater interest, and as such will reduce the potential for pointless argument.

THIS IS FOR BILLY, OR THE WITNESS………..
YESTERDAY, 5-19-09, IN L.A. I WAS IN TRAFFIC, LOOKING UP INTO A CLEAR BLUE SKY, NO CLOUDS.. I HAVE A CONVERIBLE SO MY VISUAL SCOPE WAS CLEAR FROM RIGHT TO LEFT. THE ENTIRE SKY.. I SAW A LONG TUBE LIKE OBJECT, I THOUGHT PLANE AT FIRST, BUT IT LOOKED LONGER, AND THE WINGS COULDN’T BE SEEN, I FIGURED AS IT CLIMBS THE ANGLE WOULD SHOW THE WINGS . I WATCHED IT FLY ABOUT THE SIZE OF A RULER ( IF U HELD IT OUT INFRONT OF YOU). IT SEEMED LONGER THEN A PLANE WHICH GOT MY INTEREST. IT WAS WHITE/ SILVER, ANYWAY I LOOKED DOWN TO INCH UP IN TRAFFIC ABOUT 3SECONDS, TRAFFIC WAS GRIDLOCKED.. AS I LOOKED BACK UP , IT WASN’T THERE.. I WAS TOTALLY FREAKED OUT. I MEAN THE SKY WAS WIDE OPEN, NO OBSTRUCTIONS WHATSOEVER, I EVEN ALMOST HIT THE CAR NEXT TO ME.. CAUSE I WAS LOOKING FRONT BACK SIDE TO SIDE, ETC.. THERE IS NO F-ING WAY I COULD’VE LOST SIGHT OF IT HAD IT BEEN A PLANE.. ANYWAY I REPORTED IT TO MUFON LAST NIGHT, AND ASKED THEM TO CONTACT ME IF ANYONE ELSE SAW WHAT I SAW.. I REALIZE UR SIGHTING WASNOT IN L.A. BUT YOU ACTUALLY SAW THE SAME EXACT THING I DID.. MY SIGHTING HAPPENED IN THE AFTERNOON , AFTER 12.BUT BEFORE 1.. I’M SO GLAD IM NOT ALONE..

(25) Marilyn says:

I have no doubt this gentleman saw a UFO. My sightings started before the Stephenville incident and continue to this day, They have increased significantly in the last month. Just last night I observed a White UFO very low, probably around 1000 ft. It traversed the sky pausing momentarily about one half the way across. I now have my camera ready and got a picture when it paused. It is pretty amazing photo.

(26) Austin says:

Hi I also live in Texas. Austin to be exact. I’ve also seen some UFOs here in these skies. My first occurrence that I can remember was in 2008 I believe, in the night. Wasn’t just one and they were in a formation of like two angles, like an obtuse arrow, or like a boomarang. They were white and they had disappeared shortly after I saw them. It seems like when I see these things they are white. And I never have a phone or camera to record these incidences. Today while I was running in the afternoon I saw something floating in the sky. Okay so I’m smart enough to tell the difference from an airplane, blimp, balloon, jet, helicopter and everything of that sort. This was off hovering in the sky north east of me. If I extended my arm toward the sky to where my index finger is I’d say it would be the size of an M&M, a thick grain of rice or a dime. This thing was oval shaped. And it was white. I want to say disk shaped but it wasn’t very thin. So I’ll stick with oval. Weird thing was as it was hovering a way it wasn’t going so fast.

(27) Austin says:

(continued from my last post) And it had this shine to it. Like SUPER shine to it. For it being so far away I don’t even know how I could see a shine from it. The sun was also in that direction so it was hard for me to look at it for very long. I had my sunglasses on and had to remove them to keep my eye on the object. I’m not sure if the object was spinning. But I do know it looked white to me. But every now it would shine. Like you know when light hits metal. Soon after that maybe seconds, the object disappeared into thin air. I could not find it after that as I kept running in that direction. Running back from where I came on I thought I had seen it again. Instead it was an airplane. Way high up above me. Also heading in the same direction as the UFO. All I can say is what I saw today.
