Ring-Shaped UFO over Virginia

One of the most talked about UFO events lately has been a video taken by a woman of a strange, ring-shaped object in Virginia. Denna Smith and friends were visiting the King's Dominion Amusement Park in Virginia.
One of her group noticed an odd, black, ringed object in the sky. Soon, her group was all staring at it. Denna was shocked by what they saw. Her first thought was:
"Is this the end of the world, what is going on?"
Smith took some amazing video of the object, which you can view at UFO at King's Dominion?. Some have said that the object was just smoke. What do you think?

Hey man this is 2009 nobody wants to read about what you saw we want to see what you saw. Everybody has cameras and videos so where is the proof post it it to you tube or something.
I think it was a UFO. About 30yrs ago on a Christmas Eve My mother and I saw a big yellow ring that hoover over 360 and went all the way from Holts to Laburnum Ave.We didn’t follow it any further.It cover both lanes of 360.
It’s the devil’s work for mere men to get distracted from God.

I watched the video..this is NOT smoke. As previously indicated…smoke would move with the wind and clouds. Smoke rises, and changes it’s shape with the wind…this did neither. It also appears to be rotating(turning). I pin pointed a spot on the right side, and if you look really close…you can tell that it is turning. Now I don’t know what it is, but it is definitely NOT smoke. It does seem as if it IS NOT identified, it is flying, and some sort of object…which constitutes it as a U.F.O.; now whether it is man made or not is an entirely different question. Myself, I did see a space craft, that was way beyond our technologies even today, some 35 years ago. I think it’s pretty shallow to think that we are the only living entities in the vast “SPACE”…but all that said…I think the video is pretty interesting, but definitely not smoke.
no doubt that this is not a smoke. i have just watched the video and i can’t be convinced that this is volcano.
It looks like a smoke ring but it keeps it’s shape when it moves. The US and other countries know about UFO’s, all we need is the government to confirm this for mankind and we can move forward by solving simple things here on earth.
I don’t think it’s a vehicle from another planet at all, but whatever it is, it’s sure interesting.

There isn’t enough video of the anomaly to allow a real qualitative analysis of it. What video there is certainly appears to show a phenomenon in the form of a perfect ring, sharply defined and holding its shape. A smoke ring would be immediately obvious by its motion and structure.
If the observer noticed the ring at the time she took the video, which she apparently did, then I am curious as to why there is not more footage of it. Possibly the short video shown on the website is just a portion of it – if so, I’m very interested in seeing ALL of the video and hearing any comments possibly made by observers.
Here is one possibility – and this is strictly for the Reynolds Wrap contingent. She claims to be an author. Nice way to get some exposure – “videotape” an extraordinary “UFO” and get the video on TV. In truth, I doubt that is the case.
I also doubt that the apparition is a “sign from God”. I am a Christian, but I don’t buy the “In hoc signo vinces” thing.
I suppose that there is some possibility that the object is a video artifact, but it doesn’t look like any video artifact I have ever seen. I would have to leave commentary on that possbility to someone more knowledgeable in video systems that I am.
My feelings – definite image on video, possible physical object of unknown origin and not likely a smoke ring at altitude. IMHO, the available data do not support a more substantive conclusion.
