UFO Sighting Reports
From Texas, we read about a man who, while driving down the road, saw a green, fireball-like object. And lastly, from Brazil, a man reports the sighting of a metallic, ball-like object high above a plane.
Be sure to see the full details of these reports at UFO Sighting Reports, 07-02-09, and don't forget to keep your eyes on the skies. Please comment as you wish.

Very interesting reports, Again,it is a very big universe out there,I realy can`t believe that we are the only civilized beings out there. Let alone in this the galaxy.Something is out there.
It’s an incredibly vast universe. So vast, in fact, that while I do not doubt other life exists in it, possibly in great abundance (besides the millions of differing species right here on Earth), the likelihood of their ever being able to reach one another is is almost, if not actually nil.
Augustus, do you have that view of travel through space because of Einsteinian physics.
What if he was wrong? It wouldn’t be the first time that experts have been sure of their facts only to discover, subsequently, that they were wrong.
The idea that our understanding of the possible relationships between speed, energy and mass is all that may be understood is questionable.
The older you get, the more you realise how often that experts have to change their mind!
No, not really Einsteinian physics. Any known system of physics produces similar results. In fact, Einsteinenian Physics is the only system I know of where interstellar or better travel may be possible, since Einstein believed in the possibility of wormholes. But, as good as his system is, I think it is flawed as well, having taken a cursory look at at the Non-Euclidean Algebraic System he was taught, and used to develop his system. Flawed though it may be, it is still the most accurate and therefore useful system of physics we have when measuring great distances. I just don’t think wormholes, if they indeed exist, would be a very useful means of transportation.
Correction: “Non-Euclidean Algebra”, should read, “Non-Euclidean Geometry”, sorry, it’s very early in the morning and I’m making too many mistakes. I need to retire for a while. Thank you for your indulgence.
Here’s my two cents-
Albert Einstein didn’t cut adrift all the pieces of the universe to wander vaguely through ill-defined space and time. While he abolished the framework of absolute space and absolute time he replaced them by absolute spacetime. Although a more malleable kind of thing than it’s predecessors, it is, if anything, more reliably absolute. Newtonian space and time were like a chessboard on which the game of matter and energy was played. Einsteinian spacetime takes an active part in the game and may even be regarded as being created by energy. At any rate, it shares fully in the history and fate of the contents of the universe. Among the paraphernalia of relativity theory, the speed of light is absolute, the pattern of curved space near a massive object is absolute, the rest-energy of an object is absolute and all the laws of physics are absolute. Not in the sense of being unalterable by the progress of research but in the sense that they are consistent throughout the universe.

On the subject of time, I find myself wondering whether there is such a thing.
There definitely appears to be such a thing as activity and, therefore, progression but could it be that it’s as simple as that? Perhaps, in talking on the subject of time we are merely talking about existence. The progress of existence could still be flexible but for reasons other than because of this strange time concept. Might we be confusing ourselves by us having invented something that does not exist?
Please forgive me for this flight of fancy; it is Sunday morning!
I’ve decided that I really like you Gadrannanna! If for no other reason than the fact that your mind is bot stuck in a rut, and you don’t mind expressing yourself, even at the risk of sounding totally ridiculous to others. Now, really what I can bravery! Bravo!

Make that another sighting… Three red lights on the bottom, and speared there were what appeared to be landing pods on the side. made an awesome addition to our independence day over here.
If Our mathematics and science were capable of discovering how to traverse spacetime, it would have done so by now. We think we are all so smart, we are so cocky yet who knows what discoveries have been ignored or swept under the run by big mega corps and its best friend WAR in the name of false freedom and progress. Our science is flawed and our computations and calculations are flawed by our own limited understanding of what it is we see…. not to mention the fact that we are all born into wrong thinking in the first place and so even when we think we are thinking outside the box we discover we are like the little russian nesting dolls… each breakthrough only leads to another box in the same flawed thinking… we are like an addict needing a fresh intervention to get us back to square 1-b
Last night at approximately 10pm while in Harbert Michigan me and 3 others spotted something in the sky. There were about 4 reddish glowing lights that seemed to moving slowly in the sky. At first we thought they were fire works, but they began ‘hovering’ and lasted way too long (about 3 or 4 minutes) before two of them just faded away. The other two lights stayed longer, drifting together in the sky for a brief moment, then back apart. Then, they just drifted further away until the lights faded out of sight.
Augustus, what rut am I stuck in? Please elucidate!
We assume that we possess all knowledge, we base our thinking on that and that is our flaw. There could be things we can’t possibly understand because we don’t have enough information. Time travel, interdimentional travel, worm holes, these are all things that may exist but because of our limited knowledge we dismiss them as fiction. There could be such unimaginable things in the universe and yet most refuse to speculate on these possibilities. Yesterday’s science fiction has, in a lot of cases, become science fact. What will the next hundred years bring?
Gadrannanna, sorry about the typo’s. Message should read, ” …not stuck in a rut.”, and again, “Now, that’s what I call real bravery!”
Mark Twain would have been proud of you. N’est-ce pas?
I see, Augustus! My lasar canon ports are now shut again.
I have to admit that my attempts to broaden the conversations here do sometimes result in my pushing the bounderies of acceptability but I do down to Earth stuff too! (I think)
Within the social arena I try to do small jobs and one of those jobs is to expose poeple to various ideas in the hope that they will be more balanced in their thinking. I am not attempting to seek agreement with those ideas; mostly, they are just food for thought or wildly speculative. And, as you suggest, I may post things that others would not.
I don’t lead and I don’t follow. I make strange noises from the corner of the room. Peace to everybody. Be careful what you believe!
Hello Fellow Cummenters:
All above very interesting and edjucating
but not to do with UFO sightings. Me speak
to some frends who two week ago see the
brite green objecks in skys over Lake Ontario.
Jus like ones seen in Texas. Very more
interesting and should comment if see some more. Very interesting to read.
Thanks to all of you who explain in detail where your sightings take place. For those of you who don’t, could you please be more explicit. Saying you were driving down the highway in Texas doesn’t quite get it. I would like to know a more exact location just in case there were other witnesses in your area who saw something too. Thanks for your consideration. Keep the reports coming!! There seems to be a lot going on this year.
Relento, synchronicity at last! I’ve just sent Mr Booth an Email asking him whether he is bothered about us going off topic in his blog’s comment trains.
Spooky…..
I find the off topic banter here fun and liberating and hope that nobody objects too much. And there is only so much you can say about inconclusive sighting reports. (That is not a criticism in any way!)
I, also, want the reports to keep coming because they can add up to something if they are looked at as a whole whereas looking at them individually often doesn’t mean very much.
I was sitting with my girlfriend in a wheatfield, we looked up and at the same time both see an object which looked like 2 balls on top of eachother and was a really bright white,we first thought it was a plane but it was moving alot faster than any plane could and this object moved in very sharp dashes.
About 10 seconds after we see another object that looked exactly the same and going in the same direction as the 1st, this 1 was about quarter the size of the 1st but moved at an incredible speed and moved like the 1st.
it was pitch black and these things flew alot lower than the stars.
Good important suggest from . Cummenter should tell more near place where they make sighting also what time it is too. Not good example from because tell no place to sighting and not say time. Place and also time help to others may see same UFO maybe and tell us for better to understand.
I believe a great majority of the “I believe there is life out there but the distance is too great to travel therefore ever being able to reach one another is near impossible crowd” really do not factor in a great amount of unanswered variables (unless you believe all other life in the universe is basically a mirror of Homosapien…life span or age of civilization ect…
Unanswered variables:
1. How far is too far to travel if your life span is say 300 or 500 years
2. A civilization with an age 50 times or 1000 times that of ours(exploring the galaxy just might be what they do) and if that be the case…any star within 25-100 light years is very doable (generational ships)
3. A civilization that is primarily space fairing and has been for lets say 2 billion years.
the list would be (and is) as extensive as the universe itself…so too far? For “us” maybe now…yet if the world was united and it was our goal to do just that…explore the galaxy/universe…then too far would only be a galactic issue…depending on where your galaxy was located!
Again these sightings do not say whether they are observing with the naked eye or with binoculars. With binoculars you can zoom in and really see much clearer what objects are.
you people sound intelligent and thoughtful, I figured you would speak in code or some other form of language
Difficult to estimait objeck size thru barnuculars. Objeck speed make good focus very difficult. Zoom give better chance to following objeck. Also good photo best. Must try show relation objeck to other item in photo for show diffarance. Good luck.
On July 5th, 2009, I saw two UFO’s in Rothbury, Michigan. One was hovering by a very bright star, moving around slowly, and another one came from the left part of the sky and moved to the right part. This object was not blinking, it was just an orb of light. It was astonishing and i am overwhelmed to see that these past few days that their have been more sightings.
Having seen a few VERY close-up daylight sightings of different types of UFO’s ever since I was 7 yrs old, and a few night sightings as well, there’s no one that could convince me that there’s no such thing. In fact, the first UFO I saw was when I was with my entire family (6 kids & my Mom). It was around noon. We saw a hovering silver ship, approx 50 ft in diameter, over the reservoir where I grew up. It was only about 20-30 ft above the water, so it was in plain sight. We couldn’t have been further than 50 ft away from it. This was in the 60’s. As it turns out, most of the townspeople saw it, too. They were seen for an entire weekend. People were lining their cars all the way around the reservoir to watch the show. It was truly an incredible experience. The sightings (from others) were reported in a book by Timothy Good, a well-known UFO investigator.
Another daylight sighting I had was in the late 70’s. It was triangular in shape. My mom, brother and I ran outside onto our sidewalk and this “thing” FLOATED just above the treetops. Not a sound! It floated right over us. We were in awe. The thing was immense! That night, the news reported that it was viewed by people from VA thru NY State.
We never did report any of our sightings, though. In fact, we never even spoke to each other about the first sighting until we were adults!
Jean P story very good but not believe family not speak til grow to adult. Sighting two impotent to keep silint.
we saw the exact same fireball like object about 2 weeks ago in orange connecticut no bull$hit
On 07/04/09 at the rothbury music festival, i wittnessed my first ufo sighting. What i saw blew away everything i knew. During the Grateful Dead set (and yes, i was COMPLETELY SOBER, save for one or two beers throughout the evening.)
i looked up in the sky and saw what appeared to be three glowing orange/yellow orbs in the sky, in the form of a perfect triangle, had to be at least a few miles high in the sky. they stayed in form as they slowly slid across the sky, then they stopped all together. slowly, one broke away from the triangle, then dissapeared. then the next two followed. the whole encounter lasted about 15 minutes.
i would never lie about something like this. im a rational person, but i know what i saw. there were groups of people around me that saw them as well.
Come on, you were at a festival w/ all sorts of glow sticks and visual eye candy. The UFO you are speaking of was visable twice… Once at the start of set2 and again near the end of The Deads set.
Not sure exactly what it was, but it was set off left of the main stage behind the treeline and was obviously done on purpose by the Rothbury festival. I admit it was pretty cool and I instantly thought “This is what everyone is reporting on UFO hunters”. Its 3 candles in balloons that are set off together. They drift in the wind and eventually burn out.
Get a grip
Well hello my newest internet friends it is wonderful to meey all of you and read theough your interesting comments. I too was at the Rothbury fesyival and saw some wild things myself I have some photos of a few during the day when I took them I didn’t notice all of them later when I dot home I saw many of my photos had them in there to the nakedeye they looked like huge bright stars that weren’t there the next day or in both cases ever again that we saw our cameras got two more and yes I agree about the candles we had one land in our site which helped with the orange ones but for the day sky to be bright and hippies everywhere just staring at these things when we walked up on them I couldn’t help letting my mind ask what the hell was going on I didn’t feel threaten I was really just having a good time and would see something point it out to a few ppl. and go on with my good time it was deff cool and worth hearing from more ppl about Rothbury I have found hundreds of post all over about Rothbury 09 lots of pics I will try to post one on here if someone could advise on how anyway wanted to share what I saw I’ll check back in everyone… Peace
