What Made a Believer out of Pope

By , About.com GuideJuly 20, 2009

Follow me on:

Fox News recently ran an excellent article on UFO investigator Nick Pope. Pope worked in the British Mod's UFO section for a number of years, and during that time, he morphed from a UFO skeptic to a believer.

He says that he doesn't exactly have the "smoking gun," but he does cite several cases that prove to him that UFOs do exist.

A cigar-shaped unknown that passed extremely close to an airliner.

A USAF pilot got close enough to fire on a UFO, and almost did.

A photograph of a UFO that has worried British officials.

He also states that public pressure for the release of more UFO files is overwhelming, and believes that more and more countries will come clean on what they know about UFOs.

Check out the article at Ex-UFO Researcher Details British Government X-Files. Would the cases listed above wet your whistle for more info? It sure did mine.

To answer your question Mr Booth: yes!
However, on the point of cover-ups Mr Pope has been repeatedly quoted as saying that he does not believe that there is a government cover-up.
Does he mean by this that there is no especially compelling evidence which the public has been barred from viewing or does he also mean that there has been no holding back as regards the Government’s opinion of the evidence; these are two different things…..

Mr. Pope is an agent of the supra-national agenda which permeates the current political climate.

I can tell you this with the utmost confidence!

Is he indeed? Are you sure you’re not being paranoid, Lisa? I take it you are saying that Mr Pope is up to no good?
He answered a very mundane Email I sent him so he can’t be that busy forging his part in the great deception!

Grananna,

I believe the only cigar shaped object around here is the outline of yer head-

You assume quite a bit from my comment which does not indicate how I feel one way or another besides my indication that Mr. Pope is an agent of the military-

WOW he answered an email!
Well wooop-deee-dooo!

Yah, like that really means ANYTHING AT ALL…

(5) Gadrannanna says:

Where do you get the idea that he’s an agent of the military? And so what if he is?
And as for Emails, they are something to judge somebody by. In combination with other information an Email can contribute to the possibility of judging someone more accurately, no?
I seem to have caused you great offence; that wasn’t my intention!

The government and the military can say truthfully there are no U.F.O.s, because that means “unidentified flying objects” they have been IDENTIFIED, therefore they are correct. They just walk right through a giant loop hole, I have known this for many years. I saw something with 5 friends in Reno in 1969 and we had 2 hours of missing time.

I have tried to tell you:

WE WORK FOR THEM

they control the UN, the bilderbergers, the trilateralists, the skull and bones…

crop circles are the equivalent of them marking their territory…they are claiming the earth as THEIRS…

they are staking their claim…

they will not stop until all of mankind is enslaved…

Dear Visitor,

Who are you that you are privy to what should be very sensitive information, and why would who ever you are talking about, give such information to an utter fool, who has no sense of self-preservation?

(19) Reginald DePinter. obj. says:

To Corwin 155 – Thanks old chap, for pointing out the fact that Nick Pope has never wavered in his reports and has rigidly always maintained a very steady and precisely detailed interpretation of his experiences with regard to UFO research matters.
I can vouch personally for his honesty and integrity. Nickie and I have been buddies for ages and have collaborated on several highly sensitive and restricted assignments on behalf of Her Majesty’s Government. Our recent involvement and successful conclusion to the study of low and high frequency military signals used by the Royal Navy for underwater communications between submerged naval craft, received one of the highest national commendations awarded by the British House of Commons; in this case, personally presented to Nickie by Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth at a special ceremony convened at Balmoral last summer. His role in resolving many unanswered queries which periodically present possibly uncertain and threatening advanced situations to National safety, has been exemplary. His reporting status is regarded with the highest esteem and unquestioned reliability and accuracy by all members of the British Admiralty and the United Kingdom Military Forces in general.
It is most fitting and proper that you have recognized his contributions to the question of unidentified objects, and I personally thank you for bringing this very important point to the attention of any detractors of Mr. Pope’s long service and the contributions he has made to the U.K. government, and also to international world science.

(20) Augustus says:

Dear Reggie,

The British Navy must really have seen better times. Undersea communications has been around for one hell of a long time, and frequency modulation for much longer. Why is Parliament just now getting around to awarding people for it? Anyway, foreign military aircraft, once identified as such, are no longer UFO’s, so please quit scaring people into believing that we are being threatened by UFO’s. Too many people automatically assume that all UFO’s are piloted by space aliens. You are just adding to the general sense of hysteria, or maybe that is your purpose?

Pip pip! Cheerio! And all that Tommy-rot!

(Always wanted to say that to a Limmie.)

July 31, 2009 at 12:20 pm
(21) Reginald DePinter. obj. says:

Hello Augustus:
You’re absolutely right about undersea communications being around for a long time. I only meant to say the recognition award was presented last year. Why it took so long, I really don’t know.
By the way I certainly didn’t intend, in any way, to stir up hysteria. Sorry if that’s how you interpreted it. As far as being “threatened”. Believe me we are, and unless you are on some other planet, the threat applies to you too. Don’t you more or less agree that the threat of terrorism is ubiquitous throughout the world? There are people in specialized departments within every government of almost every nation who spend 24 hours a day surveying the terrible potential threat. This is not just me saying it.
Cherio to you my friend, and just call me Regie if you like.
(BTW _ I would correct your spelling and say that I prefer the term “Geordie”, which I am, rather than “Limey”. Limmie, I think, refers to a tree with a surplus of branches I believe…or would that be limbie? Oh the English language – can any one of us ever learn it thoroughly?
TaTa. All the best.

(22) Augustus, nip says:

Hello Regie!

What a welcomed surprise! Thanks for the privilege of calling you Regie.

I really don’t think this planet has any special case for being under some sort of threat. Any life form anywhere in the Universe is under some sort of treat of it’s existence. That is just the way of things. We are conceived, we live, and we die. It’s just physics. I do think the quality of life can be controlled to an extent though, as I’m sure you do too, otherwise, you would have chosen a different occupation.

I’m sure the “Flying Saucer” panic of the 40′ and 50’s led to the official government crackdown on UFO reports from that time, foreword. Unfortunately, this has caused wild speculation form the general public that the government is hiding pertinent information from them (I guess the human mind, like space, hates a vacuum). It is an unhealthy situation politically, socially, and psychologically (especially in a democracy). In this country alone, I live in the U.S. A., it has led to countless other conspiracy theories about just who really is “in charge of things”. In short, our government is fast losing all credibility. As Sir Winston Churchill said, “Democracy requires eternal vigilance.”

I can fully understand any government’s predicament in this manner. No one government can afford a completely open policy (and never has been able to throughout history). This is especially true with practically the entire world armed to the hilt (apparently, the primary lessen of the First World War has once again fallen on deaf ears). In fact, a completely open lifestyle isn’t even healthy in one’s private life (consult the life and teachings of Jesus of Nazareth, and many others). So, with complete denial, and complete openness being totally out of the picture, what can be done? I suggest complete honesty, and scrupulous care in regard to language (sometimes a tricky feat in English! lol). Maybe there could be an official definition of UFO’s such as “Any airborne object incapable of being identified by the observer is, by definition an Unidentified Flying Object or UFO, until such time, it is identified.” Then give several mundane examples; a farmer in his field, or an African Bushman seeing his first balloon or 747, ect. . Perhaps, a direct ongoing dialog with the public and whichever department is best suited to field questions about major public concerns regarding honestly in government. Or maybe an open forum where the various departments are represented. Or else, commission real studies on the phenomenon in question, not just to cover up things. It could lead to a whole worldwide Renaissance. Exploration just for the sake of exploration.

Take for example colored lights in the sky. The FU-Fighters seen by Allied pilots and German U-boot commanders in WWII. Check your own maritime records. They have been seen by seafarers since at least the time of Christopher Columbus. They could very well be some as of yet, unexplained natural phenomenon. I rather expect they are. They just haven’t had any real perceived relevance to humanity until the space age. In the past, they have always been taken as the tales of drunken sailors or the mentally deranged, but then so was St. Elmo’s Fire, until a couple of centuries ago. (Actually, if I had seen while them while I was at sea, I would have had to get pretty drunk myself to tell anyone! lol)

Giant Monster Killer Waves in the Atlantic? They weren’t even recognized by the U.S. Navy Department until this year, despite plenty of supporting evidence, including an ocean liner that had been sent on convoy duty as a troop ship, and had it’s entire superstructure severely damage by one. In fact, a naval officer could have put his whole career in jeopardy by just stating he thought such things were possible. And so it goes.

As for “Terrorism”, F.D.R once said, “We have nothing to fear, but fear itself.” If you have a problem, you deal with it. That’s all. Georgy Porgy and his Republican cronies put this country through more terrorism, than Bin Ladin ever thought of doing, though, of course, as an American Citizen, I would like to see him finally captured and put to trial, if he survived it that is. What about Iraq? The only reason we invaded it again, as far as I or anybody I know, have been able to ascertain, is so that Georgy Porgy could at last claim he was a brave war hero like his dear old dad and maybe try to erase some blotches on his National Guard service, for the history books(of course, since he is one of the most well guarded people on the planet, that is something of a joke). It’s also interesting to note that Exxon-Mobile has been making a fat profit thruogh out I also think that government credibility is crucial in fighting terrorism.

No person, government, or even Mankind himself is omniscient nor should ever expect to be. Perhaps if we can really accept this simple fact, we would all be in a better position to explore the unexplained mysteries of our planet, and not get so worked up over being taken over by space aliens which no one has yet been able to really prove even exist.

Hello Again Augustus, nip:
In responding to your posting, I simply wanted to explain comments I had made earlier attempting only to verify the authenticity of Nick Pope in relation to my past association with him. I am not nearly as articulate or knowledgeable of the subject (s) you cover in such complete detail. The floodgate of facts and information you opened before me in your latest response leaves me completely overwhelmed and thoroughly speechless and outclassed in the many departments you relate to, with seemingly complete authority and obvious great depth. I accept your comments as veritable and most interesting, but high above most of the meager knowledge I possess in such matters. Reviewing your comments has been most interesting but I fear I cannot attempt any further response since my expertise in many of the subjective points you have made is remarkably quite limited.
I wish you well, sir.

I hit wrong button during composition, sorry.

7th paragraph down should continue as…
…Exxon-Mobile making a fat profit to this very day. I also think…

By the way, thanks for the correction in spelling. I’m prone to be lazy in that area. My step-mother taught me to spell fonetically. (phonetically, I know, just as example! lol) I sometimes wish that one of the guys who voted for English as our national language had changed his mind in favor of German (many fewer exceptions to the rules of grammar and fewer borrowings from other languages), but then perhaps our national imagination would have suffered too much.

Cheers!
