I saw that Revealed!….book. It paints a pretty scary picture of the alien system and what disclosure would do to ours.
Quite frankly I don’t care what reasons any Govt. agency gives for the “Secrecy” surrounding UFO’s. I don’t like that the masses are so controlled and manipulated by a few. Okay – yes – I’m willing to believe that the whole truth could contain some nasty surprises and could send some folks over a ledge. But so what? I think most of mankind is strong and smart enough to handle the truth and survive it no matter what.
Government secrets are not just kept from the public. They are, hopefully, kept from from anybody who does not have the need to know what they are. The reason for this is to keep any Earthly foreign power from being able to accurately access a nation’s military capabilities and strategies. Sometimes, documents that include the letters UFO as part of their information, may also include various amounts of sensitive information that doesn’t relate to UFO’s at all. Sometimes the reference to UFO’s in a classified document may be completely irrelevant to the subject of the sentence, paragraph or document at hand. On such occasions as these, entire pages may be inked out, with sole exception of the letters UFO when published for print according to the “Freedom of Information Act”.
Many people view such things as evidence or “proof” of some kind of government cover-up of certain government knowledge concerning extraterrestrial beings, which it is hiding from the public, for some dark, mysterious, sinister and completely unknown reason; though, they may suspect many reasons, including the paranormal.
Others believe that the government is merely doing it’s job, by protecting people from the consequences of a complete and world-wide change of Weltanschauung (philosophical world-view).
I believe neither of these arguments to be the case. I have studied this problem for many years, and so far, I have yet to find an author on the subject who has truly dealt with the subject with complete objectivity, as far as that may be possible. If memory serves, the title of the book was, “UFO, the Government Files”. (If anyone wants to know more or get more accurate info on the book, just ask, I can look it up, though it is very inconvenient to do so at this time of night.) The author takes an unusual stance which I happen to agree with. People are reading things into documents that simply aren’t there. It gets to be a kind of “Catch 22″ situation for governments, since because of the aforementioned need for secrecy for normal military purposes, they cannot definitively disprove a cover-up concerning UFO’s. If you think about this, it may even be impossible to disprove even with full and complete disclosure (which no government or even person throughout history has ever been able to do), since the crime only exists in minds of the accusers. It becomes the sixteenth century witch trials all over again. The difference this time being that it’s governments and not individual people being unjustly and irrationally accused. (Got to go.
