Here is a very interesting report from New London, Connecticut. On July 22, the witness was driving home from work, and noticed what he thought was lightning, yet it had a red glow to it.
As he drove, he came much closer to the phenomena. He was shocked to see a huge triangle, which he estimated as being up to a mile long. Seeing it made him feel sick at this stomach. He could now see that the object was a dark, grey, metallic color.
One more startling fact about the object was that there were electrical discharges coming from the rear, and the air was electromagnetic. The witness still felt the effects of the electric charge later that night.
Here we go again - a large triangle. What do you think? Could this be extraterrestrial, or some top-secret military craft?

It’s really difficult to say much about it for sure. There are too few facts to on. We don’t even know what time of day this supposedly occurred, which could perhaps shed a great deal of light on this.
It does sound a great deal like an anvil cloud. They occur quite frequently during the Spring and Summer months in Tornado Ally, but are much more rare in other parts of the world. The apparent size, shape and color of the object would certainly be consistent with one, as well as the electrical characteristics described. The reddish glow of the lightning could be attributed to some unusual refraction of light (the time of day could be a factor here, as well as air quality and relative humidity).
I can certainly see where someone from Connecticut might be at a loss to to understand what he was seeing had that been the case.
Miss-taking a cloud for a huge triangular aircraft….uh huh. Sometimes reader comments are more surprising than the article itself….
I was in the presence of something strange a couple times. I didn’t see a triangle, but I felt like the air was charged. So much that my head began to have a pulling sensation, like one thing was pulling my skull one way and something else pulling my brain the other. That’s the best way I can describe it. It didn’t really hurt. It has happened quite a few times most of them when I was near the ocean.
I don’t have a brain tumor.
yes I believe it is extraterrestrial. How could something that large be a manmade object. Apparentley it was silent as they all are reported to be. I saw a triangle up close and personal in September of 1974 out side of Rochester, New York in Webster, NY. I was traveling down route 104 heading west when I noticed what I thought was a newly erected tower with 2 red and one green light on it. It was sitting by a telephone pole on the edge of the high way. As I approached it and started to go under or by it, I noticed 3 metal bars connecting the 3 lights and at the same time it started to glide out thru an open field and graduly pick up speed as it went towards lake Ontario. it was silent and did not waver at all. It seemed to react to my looking up at it as I went buy. There was other traffic passing by, but nobody seemed to notice it. I was within 25 feet of it. It was about 8:0 clock at that time and it was dark then. It looked to be translucent and it looked like I could look up thru the center, could only see the three bars and lights which were about 15ft apart. I think it was a small scouting craft.
The guy wasn’t in the middle of the Sahara Desert or something like that. He was driving home from work in or near a large populated area. A mile long triangle floating noiselessly in the sky would have been seen by many other people, perhaps hundreds or thousands. Again, no pictures. Doesn’t anyone in or near the New London vicinity own a camera? If there was anything so surprising or unusual about it to cause people wonder, alarm or consternation they would have reported it. I certainly would have. Nope, it must have been perceived everybody else who saw it, and perhaps the witness as well, as something natural and normal, albeit unusual.
Sepo: I agree’, in spirit, with your observation about other people’s comments. Take for example someone automatically assuming that a report was about an aircraft when the person making the report claims nothing of the kind. He may have been testing the UFO community’s cognitive ability. Why would anybody here on Earth go to the expense and effort to to build a slow moving mile long aircraft that does nothing except emit electro-static discharges? If it is of extra-terrestrial origin, what would space aliens need with with a humongous aircraft and not a spacecraft? Where did this thing go beforehand and afterward? Why wasn’t reported by people in other cities? Where would it be stored unnoticed when not in use? Why couldn’t it have been just a cloud?
billy,
hey how about a link, pal?
id like to read the source article >__>
ok SEEING it made him SICK to his stomach?
hmmmmm… THAT wold indicate possible EVIL incarnation…
because our gut instinct tells us when soemthing is “NOT RIGHT”…
Just want to put in my 2 cents. I would make the case that we aren’t really sure where these crafts come from. It’s quite possible these intellegences are extra dimensional rather than extra terrestrial.
Here’s the link for this sighting report, found in the Mufon database.

Here’s the link to the witness’s drawing of what he saw (it’s in the Mufon database with the report) http://www.mufoncms.com/files/18254_submitter_file1__personal022.jpg
If these links don’t work go to mufon.com and click on “UFO Case Files” in their menu on the upper left hand side of their homepage. Click “Search UFO Database” and in the search fields that they provide, only go to “State” toggle to “Connecticut” and click “Search” and a list of all CT reports come up. Billy’s post, here, is referring to the July 6 report, there. The link to the photo is next to the report link, on the right.
One interesting note… there are six sightings in August in CT and five of them either refer to light discharges or triangular craft. Hmmm…
my parents used to go to arizona to the large flea mart they have there at quartzsite every year. In 1997 while they were there they saw one of the large triangle “vehicles”. They said it was silent and very large. My father was in the air force in WW2 and he knows what aircraft look like. They then read the reader’s digest article and said the hair on their arms stood up when they realized they had seen the very same thing.
I just watched a program about “triangle alley” and I live in this area. I haven’t seen one, but one night I couldn’t sleep and was looking out of my bedroom window when I realized something very large and very low in the sky was drifting slowly by. I noticed that I could not see the stars and then it went past my view and then I could see the stars, so something very large was blocking out the stars. I wonder what this is, that can hover silently and so low. Our planes would fall out of the sky if they were going so slowly and just hovering. I am curious, and also scared. We are not alone in this universe and to think so would be really stupid.
What’s very big, is low to ground, blocks out stars, and moves slowly and silently? A cloud?
I have seen a triangle U.F.O. up close it was 2002 on return trip from Destin Florida back to Mobile, Alabama when a bright light between two radio towers on I-10 close to the Wilcox exit heading West. I thought it could have been a helicopter at first so I decided to pull off to the side and watch this object it was 10:00 p.m. I watched it hover between the two radio towers for maybe five minutes and then it started to move and it moved right over my position. It made no noise..it had a red rotating light on it’s underside and a bright light on it’s nose. The craft was apporximately seventy feet wide and long.. just guessing it was dark. It slowly moved over the trees maybe 100 to 150 feet above the tree tops towards the North. Some people believe me and some don’t it’s okay. I believe, and being prior Air Force and seeing and knowing what the military has in the Aircraft arsenal. I know this wasn’t current military aircraft. Do you believe? I do.
