UFO Crashes into Sea in Spain?

By , About.com GuideOctober 2, 2009

Follow me on:

A video that has recently been released is making the rounds of the Net, and I wanted to share this with you. A Galacian fisherman has released a video that purportedly shows Spanish military planes and helicopters in the same area of a UFO over the ocean. The UFO eventually crashes into the ocean.

The fisherman states that he was not sure at first whether to release the video, but in the end, felt that the public had to right to see what happened. Not mentioned in any of the reports so far is who took the video. I am assuming it was a boat hand who just happened to have a loaded camera. This sounds within reason.

I received a loose translation of the audio from Lon at Phantoms and Monsters, where you can see some still frames, and the translation. Thanks, Lon.

I have formed a preliminary opinion on the video, but I will withhold it until more of you have a chance to look at it. Check it out at Youtube, and let us know what you think.

It looks pretty neat to me. Can’t be sure, but looks hard to fake to me.

looks like a fisherman wants to make a decent grade in some portiguese film school. I’ll give him an A for expenditures alone.

hey check out the timing between the entry into the water a slight delay between entry and splash. looks like some film trick or editing. a slight mistake but noticeable

That has to be the worst video ever, the camera guy shakes as if he/she has mds, shouldn’t even be allowed to touch a camera. And why does this web site even put this type of video on their web site unless it is in hopes to get more ratings or to get more believers, this type of video makes me more doubtful, only a pathetic idiot would fall for this video. This is the worst fake ever, even worse than those stupid crop circles. You cant tell me that aliens from thousands of light years have come to visit earth and the best that they can do is leave signs in our crops.
How are theses aliens leaving signs in our crops? with wind/ with lasers/or do they all jump out of their ship and stomp the wheat fields into submission, why don’t they just take the wheat with them, maybe they are so stupid that we need to leave them recipes signs how to make bread out of the wheat that they are destroying.
My belief is that UFO’s are a deception for mankind, it will more clear to the world when the rapture takes place, then the governments will have a reason for the thousands of people that are missing, they will simply blame it on the alien crafts and the nation will become as one soon after and and most of the world will believe it to be true, but in all reality all hearts will know it as lies and false conception. But that is just my belief on how all of this will come to pass. How else would you explain thousands of people all over the world to vanish instantly without a trace.

(9) thomas says:

Think about it, I don’t deny there may be “other” life,
but if they are so advanced to travel vastness of space to get here, why do they all seem to crash? or just make a crop circle and maybe mutulate a cow or two or best of all do butt exams. It seems to me that would be a collosal waste of time; which makes visitation questionable at best. Why don’t they drop off the answer to perpetiual motion or a fix for an inexuastable power supply or gathther up all the menally defective “liberals” and drop them off on mars

All reports I’ve heard say that UFO’s don’t create a splash when entering the water. So this smells like the same kind of stunt as the New York City Helicopter UFO Video.

That was no crash. It went into the water on purpose…. We’ve heard for years about the under water UFO bases and that there may be an entire network of tunnels that have been constructed…..

(13) Steven says:

We all see what we want to see. Some see UFO’S or USO’S crashing into the sea. Others see fake. I will wait to see what an analysis of the tape shows. Again, this is proof of nothing. If the military was buzzing this object, perhaps it’s a military experiment. I suppose no one knows for sure, except those involved. I hope some investigation will be done on this.

(14) Brandon says:

First of all, in my opinion, it’s impossible to say whether this is authentic or not. Assumptions shouldn’t be made.

I’m sure most know that sound doesn’t travel instantly. It moves at 340 metres per second in the air. Light (vision) is much faster (~300 000 000 metres per second) so obviously when an object is at some distance away you are going to get a delay between observing and hearing the sound it makes.

As for the splash. It doesn’t seem logical to debunk this based on an assumption that ufos don’t make a sound when entering the ocean. It’s like trying to disprove or prove one thing based on another that you don’t know is true or not. Furthermore, if the video is true, the craft could belong to any number of extraterrestrial life forms, or maybe even from our own government. I’m sure not all crafts are going to be the some; perhaps some use Anti-Gravity that affects the environment around it so there’s no splash and others don’t.

It’s hard to tell whether this video is legit or not; unfortunately the camera work is poor, like most ufo videos. One thing that is impressive is the fact that everything moves correctly as the camera shakes around. I don’t know about you, but if I were faking a video, I’d want a still image more or less so I could overlay the ufo / effects without having to constantly shift them around so they don’t move out of sync with the shaky video.

On a final note; I’m waiting for a UFO to appear outside my house. Then I can take a decent video and answer the question everyone is wonder “are we being visited by ETs”. I’d also include an interview with one of the ETs if they were willing….. hey a guy can hope right…

October 2, 2009 at 11:09 am
(15) Brandon says:

I was just looking at the delay of sound that the splash makes some more; Although these are crude estimates, I’d say the sound delay between the splash and sound was around 0.5 seconds.

This implies that the distance of the craft would have to be approximately 0.5 x 340 ms-1 = 170 metres. This looks about right, as the craft appears to be some distance from the camera, although it’s tough to tell precisely.

So if this is a fake, it’s very good and the creator has a reasonable knowledge of physics as they’ve modelled delay of sound as well as any visual effects.

(17) D. Akroyd says:

billy,

my first impression on the video was one of disbelief…

the entire scene would be easily cgi-ed using off-the-shelf video editing software…

The splash that the “ufo” makes looks highly suspect…(cgi generated)

plus, like someone else mentioned, the thought came to my mind that supposedly ufos have a gravitational field surrounding them which creates a virtual “tunnel” in the water through which they travel…

thereby circumventing any type of splash event when entering the water…

the jets are also easily cgi-ed, as there really is no un blurred close up of them flying by…

the helicopter that appears and announces for them to leave the area looks real enough, but one helicopter does not an authentic ufo vid make…

(18) Jeanette Jordan says:

Well, I’m fascinated:-)

Saving judgement until it’s been analysed.

I’ve got real shots of UFOs… my hand shakes aiming in the sky, what is genuine is called fake… and fakes pass as real every day, so, interesting.

Everyone has mobiles these days, most have video and picture capture, and people play around with them all the time, so just happening to have one handy when seeing something unusual, is not suspect any longer.

If fake it is, it’s very clever.

Like I said to my brother recently, no one believes my close up picture of a UFO is genuine, maybe next time, I’ll get ET to stop and pose with me… but hey, still, they’d call it fake, or, a blip/flash on the lens:-)

We’ve become a world that believes all the lies from politicians, then have the audacity to blame them afterward, but which discards the truth, from ordinary mortals, even when it smacks us in the eye:-)

I’ll follow this one with interest.

(19) Richard II says:

I think the problem is we don’t know if the film is shown exactly the way it was originally, or if it was edited in any way. My first thought is that it is fake, but I can’t know for sure yet, until some more input is sent in.

(20) Chris Augustin says:

I find the video to be highly suspect. First off, it seems too perfect, jets chasing something like this, it diving into the ocean and a helicopter being there that fast? Also, the object looks like it flies off to the right and then an instant later you see a splash. With legitimate USO sightings, there is never a splash, there’s no water displacement at all. I say outright hoax.

(21) Ross says:

I am with Redwine as far as Brian. As far as objects making a splash, I do not know where some of you are getting your information, but I did watch a show where a Japanese vessel witnessed a unexplainable object moving around their vessel for sometime. It evantually went into the water quickly and the Japanese sailors had said the wave it produces was so strong it nearly capsized their ship. The ship they were on look to be the size of a oil tanker and to think sailors on such a large ship felt as if the ship was about to go down must have been harrowing. They also said that this craft came back out of the water and once again they were sure they were going to go down due to the enormous waves the craft made.

@ross,

do you have a link, pleeeeeze?

=====

well, most of the experts analysis is in, and most say “FAKE”…

as usual, with most fakes, the details of locations, dates, and identities are rather murky about this video…

that, foremost, is the first indicator of a fakery, such as the so-called “drone” pics…

an anonymous submitter, an unnamed location, a murky event…

all add up to flimm-flammery!!!

(24) connie says:

I first saw this video several days ago and since have seen it forward, backward and frame by frame. Do I know anymore now than I did then? Absolutely not.
My understanding was that the footage was taken with a camera phone. I don’t know if that makes the clarity or pixel fix any different using a camera or camera phone. Some on other blogs have said they could see something shoot back out of the water and to the right about the moment of the splash. Others have made note of a white object being seen with the ‘ufo’. I think this is what Billy made mention of as well.
The men appear to be frightened and in disbelief of what they are seeing and experiencing. The jets appear near the boat then pass and the cameraman holds them in view until they start to fade. If you look just moments before he turns the camera away from them you will note they appear to be circling back towards the ship. Also in the shot is another dot just beside the flag, that is the helicopter approaching the boat. The two jets return and can be seen flashing by the boat towards the ‘ufo’ and moments later someone aboard the helicopter is telling the men to leave the area. I’ll leave the determination of the footage being real or cgi to the pros.
Still, I have one perplexing question. What orders or instructions were they given once they reached port?

(25) UFO-Disclosure says:

I think that fact that the frantic fisherman wants the camera turned off says it all. This video screams ‘WE’RE BUST’! But smuggling and trying to hide something is not as entertaining as a UFO video! Funny. I debunk this video on my blog
here

(26) Ross says:

People tend to be very doubtful to alot of this. I suppose that is not only normal, but needed. I do ask this question then, why, as some of these ufologist say, was President Bill Clinton considered the cadillac of information about the subject? Why did Bill Clinton take men like General William Powell, General Norman Schwarzkopf and George Stephanopoulos on fact and find mission? In the second year of his first term President Clinton had already stumbled upon some very startling revelations. I would think that being a president would be difficult enough without involving yourself in some flimm-flammery!

(28) David B says:

Too many problems with this video. What were the jets doing? They fly by to the left at top speed, then reappear too quickly to be believable, moving to the right, again at top speed and to what end. If there was a UFO there they just kept speeding past it. The film of the UFO itself is highly suspect because you see other objects flick by at various times in other areas of the video. What did the helicopter do after filming stopped? The video taping stopped very abruptly. Why? Too many highly suspect things to be believable.

(29) Scott says:

Nice video except from all that I have read going back to /52 as witnessed by sailors of USS Roosevelt, UFO (USO)s don’t make a splash entering or leaving water.

So, I’m not convinced this video is factual.

(30) Albert says:

I think this is not a UFO video, but a law enforcement video. The fishermen were some place they should not have been, and were being warned off.I believe the UFO was added later. The camera man tries to hide the camera from the chopper, and the chopper addresses the crew of the boat.I only wish I could speak spanish.

(34) JohnnyBoy says:

The video cannot be analysed just from watching youtube ! the quality is too poor & there is too much speculation. The original tape / digital file needs seen first hand to form an opinion. If it is a fake youtube has indirectly made it seem real to some degree, cos of poor quality (not youtubes fault). Aby ufo footage is JUST as important as the circumstances, the people involded, time, date witnesses, detail etc !!!!!! People seem to forget all this & just go by the footage !!!! But thats not good enough. As there isn’t any its suspicious. This is covered up by the sender claiming they hesitated making it public. Problem is no other details have been made public. Agree jets couldn’t have turned around so quick. One last thing, certain links refer to the clip as jets attacking ufo, when clearly its impossible to tell if they do or not ! why do people exagerate ???? Look at the facts !!!

Many types of ufo cruise the earth, some are far further developed than others. Why should there be only one type that slip into the ocean without a trace. I like the guy that deduced the distance through the delay in the sound. Not sure yet of the validity but it does seem strange that they are taking it off youtube!
