I saw a question posted on a message board recently titled, "Do you think that extraterrestrials will have any sense of God or spirituality?" That is a very relevant, yet controversial question, as we ponder possible contact with these other-worldly beings.
In addition to studying UFOs, I have also done quite a bit of study of the Bible. Of course, I realize that makes me quite partisan in answering the question above. Let me say this, and then our readers can comment.
If one believes that God created the Universe and mankind on Earth, then any other intelligent beings in that Universe would also be part of that creation. If one believes only in a creation by nature, or the Big Bang theory, then how would you answer this question? What do you think?

Perhaps both the ‘God created the universe’ theory and the ‘Big Bang’ theory are not incompatible – after all, something had to ignite the Big Bang.
And perhaps more advanced civilisations in the cosmos know more about the truth behind Creation than we do – after all, we have dozens of religions on Earth which, though all sharing some things in common, also disagree about many things. They can’t all be right.
Cue comments by fundamentalist Christians opining that Christianity is the “correct” religion, quoting Biblical passages as “proof”…
Some Aliens may have come across so many different versions of gods that they view the idea of gods as more likely to come from a combination of intellectual and cultural phenomena rather than being anything to do with a greater reality. In other words, gods only exist in the minds of mortals.
At the same time, there may be many out there that hold very strong views about their gods. Why should there not be?
Part of the lot of an advancing society is to ask questions. Is it not reasonable to assume that people not only wonder about the same things but may come up with the same, or similar, answers?
Billy I believe Intelligent beings who live in the atmosphere around and above the Earth are under the authority of the Lord of Flying Things, the Prince of the Power of the Air. Baal is identified as Satan by Jesus himself, Matt.10:25 Mark. 3:22 Luke 11:15. Paul says we wrestle not with flesh and blood, but with principalities and powers, with spirits in high places, literally, “in the heavens” “in the aerial regions” Eph.6:12. Hence Satan is called “the prince of the Power of the Air” “the prince of the aerial host” Eph.2:2. Imagine the confederation of rebellious angels seated in the atmospheric heaven in the spaces above and around our planet. This fundamental of scripture contradicts many traditional concepts of “hell” as the domain of the devil and his minions… the popular notion of “satan ruling the underworld” is not found in the Bible.

One other thing i might ask, “if rebel angels can imitate Godly miracles, how can one tell if angels are of God or rebellious? Couldn’t they all be the same?” This is the confusion satan’s minions have always sown,many alternative UFOlogists fail to realize the very obvious distinction between God’s angelic messengers and the deceptive manifestations of fallen angels. God’s messengers always acted within the confines of God’s Word, that is, their actions and the results of their actions were always Biblically, Lawfully, consistant. The results of interaction with an angel of God left the visitee with no doubts about the Biblical God, nor His revealed Word. In contrast, contact with “angelic” aliens and occult entities casts doubt on the validity of the Bible and leaves confusion concerning God’s identity. Godly angelic encounters always gave glory to God and confirmed His Word, while deceptive angelic encounters, occult manifestations and aliens, lead humans away from God into increased occultism, self-deification, self-actualization, human potential, and a complete disregard for the validity of the Bible.amen:)
Everything I have read about our so called ‘alien’ friends suggests that they hold our spiritual development far above our technological. From accounts, it seems they have a belief in a central ’source’ of all things, to which we, and they, and eveything in the Universe is connected. Call it Source or call it God – it seems to me that these beings intention is to remind us of our connection to Source – an intelligence or perhaps state of being that exists everywhere at once in all possible states, and in every moment simultaneously.
I do not come from a relgious background, and I did not hold any kind of spiritual views prior to my interest in UFOs. But from what I have personally witnessed and read about the phenomenon, I have become convinced that God, or source, is real (whether it be an intelligence inherent to the Universe itself, or a hightened state of mind, I cannot say).
The ‘aliens’ or whatvever they are seem to have no doubts of it. I do doubt, of course, but whereas in the past I would not have considered the possiblity, I now keep my kind open to it.
Yeah!! We are all the children of the same father called “God”.
The Catholic Church funds a SETI in the US to contact aliens and determine if they have souls. I guess if the aliens are not Catholic the church may declare war on them and shoot them down with holy lasers.
Aliens have been mentioned throughout history and in the Bible. Beginning long before Jesus Christ was born.
Just as we on earth have developed many faiths from different cultures I must assume that aliens from the various planets have also developed different beliefs.
Just as we have good and bad religions and good and bad people, there are good and bad aliens. Some have no bad intentions while others abduct and kill humans.
We cannot apply our standards to beings coming from totally alien cultures. Are we any better? Do we not send destructive probes to other planets without regard for the harm they may do? Just because we do not recognize forms of life totally alien to ours we may well have killed millions. When we crashed the probe into the moon to test for water etc, did we target one of the known alien bases? Did we secretly go to war with them, and took out their nearest supply base?
Humans, when deciding about going to war have never consulted the Bible to see if it was right to do. We print “In God We Trust” on our money, why? Is there not a separation of church and state? “One nation under God” has lost its meaning. We welcome millions to this country to live in peace and freedom of religion. Then they attack our religion and even kill to promote their own beliefs. If they didn’t want to JOIN us and become One Nation under God, send them back where they came from…
And we are not much better than they are, we seized a country that already belonged to Native (first) Americans. The natives that didn’t let us have their homes and land – we killed or squeezed into little barren reservations.
Now imagine those aliens behaving like we did when they found (not discovered) another place. The Vikiings came first and respected the natives, trading with them and never taking their land. Then came the English, Spanish and French who took all the pleased at any price. The Spanish so feared the advanced Mayan civilization that they murdered over half the people and imposed their Catholic religion.
Let’s Pray the Aliens are more mature and socially advanced than us savages are. Having evolved way past us they could probably teach us a lot…
Our beliefs in a God who created everything has nothing to do with anything when it comes to meeting our neighbors and establishing peaceful and beneficial relations. Even Jesus Christ welcomed the Gentiles.
Do we really know Jesus Christ? Do we listen to what he said? John 3:12 “If I have told you earthly things and you do not believe, how will you believe if I tell you heavenly things?” (NKJV) John 8:23 And He said unto them, “You are from beneath; I am from above. You are of this world; I AM NOT OF THIS WORLD”. (NKJV).
We must never reject or try to change anothers beliefs, it is theirs to believe what they want. We must respect others beliefs and not base our galactic relations upon such. Has not our history of religious wars taught us anything. Would we not resist their attempt to change our beliefs?
Beliefs can only be changed by what we see, learn and accept to be true.
Our Bible was assembled by religious leaders who had a vision of what Gods Word should be in print. That meant leaving many books out. Some books are retained in the English Bible and others are newly discovered and should be in our Bible. Even today some translations of early script have been found in error. (nearly 500 words recently translated from the Dead Sea Scrolls which apply to the Bible).
So let us not base our galactic relations on religious beliefs of another species of life. We can’t even get ours right! Remember the Bible is in part only a manual: Basic Instructions Before Leaving Earth.. A guide to how man should live, under Gods basic laws, in peace with one another.
I agree with highground and Sebastian!! There is only one God and He created all creatures in the universe as well as everything else. No question in my mind on this one. And I do think it is very possible there is other life out there. The Bible speaks to it quite often. Beings from the sky visiting our world in the form of angels, on chariots of fire, Ezekiel saw the wheel, etc. The Lord never tells us that we are alone in this vast universe, just that we belong to Him. He loves all that he created!!
As I understand the process of creation. God as we call it is the projection of universal thought projecting and creating. The iniverse undoubtedly is filled with varios lifeforms that all stem from this source, so to coin the term galactic brother is not far from the truth. More evolved speices will certainly understand the universal laws that create and so their perception of god will be more accurate than what we know through our religeous books. Compared to more evolved speices we are probably still in the kindergarten stage of spirituality.
I wonder who among us can answer if aliens believe in God? While it makes sense to think aliens do exist, it has not been proven, in our most advanced stage of technology ever. Some think the same of God. However, I believe without a shadow of a doubt, that God exists. Believing God created the heavens and the earth, therefore, IF there are aliens out there, then he created them also. Whether or not they have advanced beyond belief in God, if they could be so arrogant, is a question we will have to ask them, IF they ever show themselves. If they are inter-diminsional and/or can travel the vast expanses of space, then they are vastly ahead of us technologically. It seems to me, if I were an advanced alien, believer in God, and came across a species who are self destructing, I would appear to that species and assist them. I would think if they are that far ahead of us, they could easily cure our disease and suffering, help us get beyond our desire to annillate ourselves, and help move us to a higher plane of intelligence. but that’s just me. Of course, IF they ever appear to us, no doubt we will shoot them down and kill them all for the sake of ignorance and science.
Oh, I’m sure they could also solve our health care issues. They would have to be more advanced than our alledged “leaders.”
In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth. The earth was only distinguished for our benefit as the Bible was a record for this world. Everything in heaven and earth was created by God. Heard an interesting theory years ago which called the earth the planet in rebellion. That of all God’s creation we were the only ones to rebel and sin against God, that the rest of the universe is living under his care and keeping and in the paradise that we also were meant to share and hopefully will one day share. Some questions will never be answered in this life but faith will sustain, God is in control and always has been.
A very interesting question and one that should be looked at.
There are a few points that should be consitered; Is there a God, dis He create life other than what we know of on earth, and is there angels(Sons of God). Haveing looked at this before and done a careful study of it. Ive come to two points that I hold, both of these points have support and draw backs. Personly I believe that we will never sure till we pass from this life. Also I must say that I do believe in God the creator.
The two points that Ive come to is one that God did create life outside of the life we know of on this earth, these are angels.The other point is that did create life on other planets as well as angels. If God is so perfect as Christians profess then why did he create such a hostile place for his people to live? And don’t try to blame earthquakes, floods, killer snowstorms, hurricanes, tornados, erupting volcanos, and the like on Eve making Adam eat an apple or God letting Satan rule Earth.
It seems more feasable that humans originated on a different planet and they destroyed it (much like we are doing here) and needed a new place to live. Low and behold the Guardians of the Destroyers (G.O.D.) terraformed this planet and once the air was breathable for them, they started sending humans here to populate and establish a new home. The Guardians wrote a manual on how to survive on this planet (bible) and if mankind followed the rules, they would be the ones that would be able to move to the next planet once this one was destroyed. But man’s greed and selfishness that still exists today is making it more difficult to chose who will be allowed to move on and who will be left behind on a polluted, dying planet.

God is man’s scapegoat, it is easy to blame him for your troubles, praise him for your good fortune, and rely on when you can’t explain why things happen in your life.
I have a question to the person who professes that UFO’s has a tie in with satan.
You are trying to tell us that the metal crafts that we see flying in our skies are really satan and his minions playing tricks on us? And if so how come we can see satan and his demons but we never see God or his Angels?
Oh that’s right we don’t need to see God or Angels we believe by faith alone.
Some UFOlogists claim that Jesus was really a Star Visitor sent here to get man back on track to prepare themselves to interact with other alien races, but we failed big time and to this day we still aren’t ready to meet alien races. We can’t even get along with fellow Earthlings.
So my answer is there might be a Supreme Being out there and he/she/it might be in charge of all races. But I still think that “man’s” God is more of a story then reality.
How can you judge someone if you do not first test them. It is clear that this time and space exist to find out what you are made of and how do you use it, no matter how big or small. A character test to see if you are worthy of what awaits you. Sadly most in these last days fail understand the power of their spirituality and ignore it as evil delights.
I believe in one God, and everything that exists was created by Him. If it is true that there are beings on other worlds, he created them and their planet too.

I think any living creature with enough intelligence has some sort of spirituality and hope for the existenct of God. It’s necessary for beings to live beyond death so there’s going to be hope out there not matter where it is. Do aliens have a better idea what God is? Maybe. I think a lot of the religious stories and religious deities come from folk stories which have been handed down by mouth. Some of the story maybe true, but they’ve been embellish enough that only a small bit of the story may be true. So I don’t feel you can use any of them as a base for reasoning. Maybe aliens advanced grasp on Physics gives them a better understanding on the nature of God. We maybe have a more primitive belief system than they do. Perhaps like what we saw in 2001, they could possibly pave our way to a better understanding of God. Even more interesting is the possiblity they know something about a possible afterlife. Do they have some idea of existence past death? If the afterlife is governed by laws of physics then they might know something aboout it. Really pure speculation based on their assumed mastery of the laws of Physics. Every thing in this life is based on immutable laws. How about the next life?

They most definitely communicate with us spiritually, or through consciousness. To me, now, it is normal to understand this, but before I would say it was crazy and out of reality.
I have spoke to many people about my experiences with these flying objects, some tell me it is my own spirit telling me they are there when before and when I see them, or, as I find it, they are communicating with us through what God has given us all our spirit, made in his Divine image.
Right on Philip, I often think that we are all in a spiritual connection, doing our part…while avoiding the sins and struggle of the flesh…to do His will. Ain’t a beautiful Divine Mystery?
It’s easy to say that with all our volcanoes, floods and earthquakes that God has forsaken us. We forget that we are living on a living planet in constants motion. The continents are still moving. When we taken out of the Garden of Eden we were told it would be a hard and difficult life. But in the Garden we were spoiled like children in a free candy store. No stress, no challenges, no needs. But as spoiled kids we did what we wanted not knowing anything about consequences for doing wrong.
In order for us to grow and evolve we had to leave the ‘nursery’. Hardships made us stronger as we learned to deal with failure and loss.
God was satisfied with our progress for the most part and made life better for the good people. And so Job was tested by Satin to see if he would reject God.
But many people say that Job is just a parable, not a true story. However when God spoke to Job he disclosed some knowledge we have only been able to prove through science today. He asked Job if he knew where the laws changed in the heavens? Referring to folded space where time changes. Then he asked Job if he knew where the wells were that fed the oceans? A few years ago the two under sea wells were discovered east of Greenland which pumped cold water into the sea, traveled through all the seas and returned in two thousand years.
So we see that God knew the bottom of our oceans to the outer limits of space. All His creation. The book of Job and how man was tested could not have been a parable, but true and laced with knowledge only provable two thousand years later.
Through natural disasters and even wars we have become a stronger and resourceful people. We were given the intelligence and will to survive. To develop sciences to take us to the heavens and under the seas. Had these disasters not occurred we might still be hiding in caves outside of the Garden.
Now that 2012 is approaching our leaders know there is not enough time to move onto the stars and start over. The international space station “Alpha” which was supposed to be completed by 2012 will not be ready in time to be self supporting.
So now they are digging out huge shelters deep inside mountains around the world for the chosen to hide and possibly survive. But if the worst scenarios do happen they may as well be ostriches, thinking their safe and losing their asses anyway.
The aliens have been with us since our time began. observing and sometimes manipulating our progress. We can hope and pray that the aliens have a plan to help us but there are too many of us to save.
God has given us every opportunity to mature and develop a plan for our survival but we have wasted the opportunity on stupid wars, mistrust of our neighbors and for many the rejection of His laws and teachings.
We have failed as a people. And like other peoples in the Bible who failed Him we shall perish. God has his chosen people, they just might not live on this planet.
Like Sodom and Gamora will He take out the few true believers before the end? Like the Bible says they will be gone in the blink of an eye. And the rest shall suffer to the end.
The aliens know what is happening. They’ve seen it all before. The earth rotates away from its axis every 28,000 years and goes into an ice age wiping out all traces of our civilization. There have been a few artifacts discovered from prior civilizations long gone that we cannot understand how they work or what they are.

Tommaso considerò l’eventualità di trovarsi davvero di fronte a qualcuno venuto da chissà dove. Aveva già scartato l’idea del soprannaturale e trovava plausibili quelle motivazioni, anche se lo sconcertavano.

Seguì una lunga pausa, durante la quale entrambi continuarono a guardarsi, senza dire altro.
Tommaso era rimasto confuso da tutte quelle argomentazioni. Più che le questioni concernenti il destino dell’universo, in fondo legate solamente, almeno per lui, alla curiosità, ma ininfluenti per il quotidiano, lo avevano turbato quelle che lo annichilivano. La logica gli imponeva le stesse conclusioni, ma si ricordò di quando gli si erano rotti i freni dell’auto e, essendo rimasto in bilico su un burrone, aveva implorato l’aiuto della Madonna.

Dopo un non tanto breve interrogarsi su quali tipologie di aiuto lei fondasse quella certezza, Tommaso aveva deciso.
Si alzò e, con le mani dietro la schiena, si mise ad andare su e giù, davanti alla panchina, evitando di guardarla.

rispose Tommaso, continuando il suo andirivieni.
si sentì sollevato. La faccenda lo aveva interessato.
Detto questo, gli si avvicinò e gli si spiaccicò addosso abbracciandolo e baciandolo morbidamente sulla bocca.
Un eventuale spettatore avrebbe giurato che Tommaso De Sosio avesse subito senza reazioni quell’attacco proditorio, perché era rimasto immobile e con le braccia penzolanti. Altrove, registrarono, invece, che aveva risposto al quel bacio e che una parte del suo corpo, inconsultamente, aveva chiesto la parola.

“Io, non me la ricordo quella scena”
“Dovevamo scegliere nella tua mente un’immagine che fosse la più piacevole, ma anche la più rassicurante possibile, in modo da renderti più propenso ad accettare di comunicare con noi. Ci sarebbe stata, in alternativa, la figura di tua madre, ma essendo già morta, capirai che saremmo andati incontro a qualche, a dir poco, spiacevole complicazione.”
“Voi, chi? Perché dovreste comunicare con me ?” Era allibito.
“Devo premettere che tutto quanto ti dirò sarà adattato alla tua natura e alle parole che conosci. Sarò anche molto sintetica, in quanto i nostri mondi sono troppo diversi perché tu possa lontanamente immaginare come siamo fatti e come funzioni la nostra civiltà. Pensa che, a nostra volta, è stato, e continua a essere, difficile comprendere voi e il vostro modo di pensare.” fece scoppiettare la gomma. “Vi abbiamo scoperto solo da qualche decina di anni, del vostro tempo, e ancora continuiamo a studiarvi. Il nostro mondo appartiene a quello che voi definireste un altro tipo di materia e non solo perché non la percepite, ma perché non ve la immaginate nemmeno. Di contro, la vostra materia, per voi tanto luminosa e fonte di tutto, per noi è stata per molto tempo, allo stesso modo, sconosciuta.”
“Sei fatta di materia oscura ?” la interruppe.
“No, quella è un ulteriore tipo.”
“Come fai a vedermi?” Gli venivano in mente mille domande e ne fece una a caso.
“Pensa che quello che voi percepite, è solo una minima parte di tutto l’Universo. Noi ne rappresentiamo un altro piccolo aspetto e ve ne sono degli ulteriori, di cui alcuni continuano a non esserci chiari.” si aggiustò capelli. “Abbiamo iniziato la vostra scoperta quando, da certe considerazioni, dovemmo convincerci sull’esistenza di un nuovo tipo di energia, fino allora per noi sconosciuta e inconcepibile. Dalle ricerche che iniziammo a condurre, per verificare tale ipotesi, venne fuori qualcosa di completamente nuovo che, però, sparì subito, trasformandosi in quel tipo di energia che avevamo ipotizzato.” Fece una pausa e lo guardò come per accertarsi che la stesse ascoltando poi proseguì. “ Scoprimmo così la vostra materia e la sua luce, dai raggi x alle onde radio, e arrivammo a percepire quelle caratteristiche dell’Universo che vi riguardano e a noi prima precluse.”
“Mi vedi come io vedo te?” si era dimenticato completamente di stare parlando con l’aria.
“No, la mia è una percezione a grandi linee, nel suo complesso. Come, ad esempio, tu potresti vedere per mezzo del radar. Ti è chiaro?”
Tommaso non credeva alle proprie orecchie.
“Perché mi racconti tutto questo? Perché proprio a me?” deglutì senza motivo. “Tu, voi, chi siete, dove siete?”
“Sono un essere vivente che, contrariamente a voi terrestri, non è un singolo individuo, ma parte di un insieme. Come quest’albero, sotto il quale siamo seduti, che è formato da più generazioni che si sommano e continuano a vivere unite, indissolubilmente e in collaborazione. Per i motivi che ti ho già detto, anche se fossimo davvero qui, non potresti vederci. Siamo altro e altrove.”
“Altrove? Che vuol dire?”
“Un posto che non puoi comprendere.”
“Quando avete avuto origine?”
“Il tuo concetto di tempo e la sensazione che hai del suo scorrere non coincidono con i nostri che sono, diciamo così, auto regolati secondo le circostanze. Ti è chiaro?”
Tommaso non aveva capito molto, ma tacque. Era ancora combattuto fra curiosità e incredulità.
“Allora continuo.” ruotò il busto verso di lui. “Sento che sei interessato. Mi avevi chiesto: “Perché io?”. Bene. Perché sei capitato tu. Tutto qui. E’ stato un po’ il caso e soprattutto la circostanza che questo è un luogo isolato. Qui, possiamo raggiungere il nostro attuale obiettivo che è quello di discutere con qualcuno di voi, tranquillamente, senza doverci preoccupare o essere influenzati dalla presenza di altri, con tutte le ovvie complicazioni che ne deriverebbero.”
“Avevo chiesto anche il motivo di questo, diciamo così, incontro.” La voce gli uscì roca. Si accorse di avere la gola asciutta.
“Sì, certo. Il motivo è di conoscervi meglio. La vostra diversità ci offre nuove conoscenze. La conoscenza è tutto per noi. Ci dà un immenso piacere. Ci fa crescere e ci permette di aggiungere nuove parti a noi stessi. E’ come la procreazione per voi.”
Tommaso considerò l’eventualità di trovarsi davvero di fronte a qualcuno venuto da chissà dove. Aveva già scartato l’idea del soprannaturale e trovava plausibili quelle motivazioni, anche se lo sconcertavano.
“Vi abbiamo già studiato, in momenti e in zone diverse.” continuò, vedendo che rimaneva zitto e imbambolato “Prima, ci siamo limitati a rilevamenti sul vostro corpo, senza manifestarci, in modo da capire il vostro funzionamento, poi, sperando di ottenere ulteriori dati, abbiamo provato a proporci per cercare di dialogare, come stiamo facendo adesso con te. Ci sono stati quelli che ci hanno scambiato per entità divine. Quelli che hanno creduto di vedere dei fantasmi. C’è chi, avendo riferito dell’incontro, è stato preso per mitomane o per pazzo. Chi è svenuto e chi se l’è data a gambe levate. Insomma non è stato facile. Fino ad ora, non eravamo mai riusciti a instaurare un dialogo in tutta tranquillità. Con te sembra che quest’obiettivo si stia raggiungendo e te ne siamo grati.”
“Non ho ancora ben capito perché non vi basta osservarci da lontano.” sbottò Tommaso che, nonostante l’interesse, avrebbe preferito non essere coinvolto. “Inoltre, avreste già materiale a sufficienza, seguendo la televisione o navigando su Internet, per esempio…”
“Hai ragione e ne abbiamo, infatti, già ricavato tante informazioni. Purtroppo quelle fonti ci inviano una sequenza troppo numerosa di immagini bidimensionali, non solo singole, ma anche in incessante modificazione geometrica. Tutto ciò che dà ai vostri occhi l’illusione prospettica e del movimento, per noi diventa un lavoro interpretativo non indifferente.” fece una breve pausa, come per scegliere le parole. “Il tuo cervello è abituato a queste elaborazioni. Per noi non è così. Se tu non fossi capace di fare questo, percepiresti soltanto strane figure piatte che si deformano in continuazione, senza poterne cavare quasi nulla. E’ così?”
“Sì è vero …” convenne che non ci aveva mai pensato.
“E poi, in quelle rappresentazioni, non sono riprodotte le emozioni. Sono queste che ormai ci interessano di più e le possiamo analizzare soltanto intercettando l’attività del vostro corpo e del vostro cervello, comparandola con ciò che state nel frattempo facendo o pensando. Per fortuna, tutto ciò ci è illustrato meglio dai flussi dei vostri elettroni. Rilevando i fotoni, che emettete e assorbite continuamente, invece, abbiamo incontrato qualche difficoltà, perché dobbiamo distinguerli dall’immensa quantità di tutti gli altri in cui vi trovate immersi.”
“Come hai fatto ad arrivare fin qui?” ormai si era assuefatto del tutto e si rivolse a lei quasi come a una vecchia conoscenza.
“Se tu fossi vissuto mille anni fa, non avresti potuto che ipotizzare galeoni volanti e non certamente astronavi. Così come la tua cultura attuale non ti porterebbe che a immaginare astronavi, più o meno fantasiose, ma pur sempre limitate dalle vostre conoscenze. Non certamente quello che usiamo noi.”
“Potresti darmi un’idea esemplificativa?”
“Tu che idea esemplificativa potresti dare a uno dell’età della pietra o, senza andare troppo lontano, di solo un paio di secoli fa, per spiegargli, per esempio, com’è fatto un accendino usa e getta?”
“Veramente, non saprei …”
“Oltretutto, dovresti usare parole come: plastica, gas liquido, piezoelettrico e così via. Tutti termini per loro inesistenti e incomprensibili. Sei d’accordo?”
“Certamente.”
“Figurati dovergli spiegare qualcos’altro, tecnologicamente molto più complesso. Lascio a te la scelta. Rimanendo al semplice accendino, ne hai mai smontato uno? Provaci. Ti accorgeresti che senza disporre di speciali materiali e tecnologie, ti sarebbe impossibile fabbricarlo. Quindi sapresti spiegare solo a che cosa serve, ma non di cosa é fatto o come è stato costruito. Lo stesso vale fra me e te. Ti posso dire solo che ci spostiamo. Il resto non mi è possibile. Non esistono nemmeno le parole.”
“Che divario temporale c’è fra la mia civiltà e la tua?” era sempre più incuriosito.
“Non lo so. Sicuramente molto ma, come ti dicevo, vi abbiamo scoperti da poco e non esistendo corrispondenza fra il nostro tempo e il vostro, né fra il vostro orologio interno e il nostro, non posso darti una risposta precisa.” Fece scoppiare un altro palloncino.
“Perché, su cosa si basa il tuo tempo?”
“Qualunque tua unità di misura non coincide con alcuna delle nostre, per cui supponendo, ad esempio, che voi vi siate evoluti in esseri intelligenti, centomila anni fa, del vostro calendario, io non posso andare indietro nel mio della stessa quantità, perché non so a quanto corrisponde.”
“Grosso modo?”
“Il tempo è solo una percezione soggettiva che dipende, per te dal tuo sistema nervoso e dalle vibrazioni dei vostri atomi, per noi da altro.”
“Dove si trova il tuo pianeta? Come siete fatti?”
“Noi non abbiamo sistemi solari e quindi nemmeno pianeti. Per cercare di risponderti dovrò adoperare per forza solo le parole che conosci e che spero, anche se non corrispondenti alla nostra realtà, ti aiuteranno almeno a farti un’idea. Per non fermarmi nello spiegarti, quando proprio non c’è alcuna possibilità di traduzione, chiamerò il termine mancante con “Bip”. D’accordo?”
“D’accordo.” Era tutto orecchi.
“Sarò molto sintetica, perché altrimenti ci vorrebbe troppo tempo e in ogni caso non saprei spiegarti tutto. Sono ancora quella che voi definireste una giovane studentella. Ho ancora molte cose da studiare e tante da approfondire. Va bene?”
“Va benissimo.”
“Come ti ho già detto, la nostra percezione è diversa dalla vostra e anche le interazioni avvengono in maniera diversa. Perciò la tua biologia, la tua chimica e la tua fisica, applicandole su di noi, perdono parte del loro significato.”
“E come faccio a capire allora?”
“Ci tenterò. All’inizio ci siamo differenziati dalla materia bruta, formando dei Bip. Questi Bip potevano acquisire informazioni dall’interazione con l’esterno e ciò provocava il loro accrescimento e organizzava la loro struttura. Come quando nel tuo cervello, arrivandovi delle informazioni, s’incrementano le sinapsi e i loro collegamenti. Però voi per crescere e vivere avete bisogno di nutrirvi di altri esseri viventi o dei loro prodotti, piante o animali che siano, a noi invece bastava la stessa materia dalla quale eravamo derivati.”
“Cannibalismo?”
“Dai, non scherzare …” sorrise. “Abbiamo, in seguito, raggiunto la coscienza di esistere e la capacità di comunicare e interagire fra noi. L’unica cosa che ci ha permesso di evolverci, è l’informazione che rappresenta per noi quello che per voi è il nutrimento e la riproduzione. In seguito ci siamo organizzati in gruppi, in modo da condividere le conoscenze con altri. Ogni colonia era formata da un numero diverso d’individui e andava da poche unità, per le più giovani, ad alcune migliaia per quelle più anziane. In seguito, abbiamo imparato a trasformare parti del nostro corpo, o elementi del gruppo, in Bip, ognuno specializzato in qualcosa. Posso continuare?”
“Ehm, sì. A parte i Bip …”
“Scandagliando il nostro mondo, abbiamo così scoperto le nostre origini e le nostre leggi naturali che ci hanno condotto a porci ulteriori domande sull’ Universo.”
“Saresti capace di farmi vedere come sei fatta realmente?”
“No. Non mi è possibile, perché quell’immagine non esiste nel tuo cervello.”
“Ma non abbiamo proprio niente in comune, allora?”.
“Qualcosa sì. Anche per noi materia è uguale a energia. Però l’abbiamo ampliata con: energia è uguale a spazio. Quindi, anche materia è uguale a spazio. Naturalmente, applicando gli appropriati coefficienti, in ogni caso diversi dai vostri. Quando ci siamo accorti che la quantità di materia esistente nell’universo doveva essere molto maggiore di quella da noi conosciuta, abbiamo cominciato a formulare teorie per trovare delle spiegazioni. Se c’era altra materia diversa dalla nostra, significava che c’era anche altra energia a noi sconosciuta e quindi altri tipi di spazio. Poco a poco, siamo arrivati a voi. Il come te l’ho accennato prima.”
“Come fai a parlare la mia stessa lingua?” Avrebbe voluto chiederlo prima, ma trascinato da tutte quelle novità, se n’era dimenticato.
“Sei tu il mio vocabolario. Io non faccio altro che ricevere da te o inviarti dei particolari Bip. Quando il tuo cervello li riceve, ottieni la sensazione di vedere e sentire qualcuno. Se invece li emette, sono io a riceverli e a decodificarli nel mio modo di comprendere. Per ottenere questi risultati, abbiamo lavorato parecchio, ma ne è valsa la pena. Siamo felici di stare apprendendo una quantità immensa di informazioni sicuramente nuove.”
“Puoi spiegarmi come fai quella voce? Se quella ragazza io l’ho appena intravista, ovviamente non l’ho mai sentita parlare.”
“E’ la voce di tua madre quando era giovane e tu eri ancora un lattante. L’hai registrata e immagazzinata per sempre. Scusa per quest’altro espediente, ma ci è sembrato necessario, per aiutarci nel nostro scopo.”
Tommaso rabbrividì. “Quindi per te il mio cervello è come una banca dati, dalla quale puoi estrarre tutti i contenuti che vuoi? Come un hard disk ?”
“Esattamente. Tutta la tua vita, le tue sensazioni, le tue esperienze, insomma tutta la tua storia. E’ tutto lì, anche quello che tu credi sia stato cancellato per sempre.”
“E come fai a dare a quell’immagine tutti i movimenti che vedo?”
“E’ come quando sogni qualcosa che non fa parte della realtà. Il tuo cervello è capace di ricostruire qualunque sequenza, anche se non l’ha mai vista, nemmeno parzialmente.”
“Adesso dove sei effettivamente? Dato che vedo un’immagine che non ti corrisponde…”
“Vicino.”
“Vicino quanto?”
“Bip, tanto quanto basta per comunicare con te.”
“Puoi anche darmi la sensazione che tu sia vera e non una semplice immagine?”
“Nel senso che se mi tocchi, senti il mio corpo?”
“Sì.”
“Puoi toccarmi.” gli si avvicinò in maniera provocante.
Tommaso allungò lentamente una mano e tremando le sfiorò una guancia. Era come se fosse reale: liscia e tiepida. Si ritrasse subito, alquanto impressionato.
“Giacché sicuramente siete più avanzati di noi, perché non ci date una mano nel farci progredire?”
“E’ semplice. Perché finiremmo per aiutare solo chi è capace di avvantaggiarsene. Per cui alla fine se ne gioverebbero alcune nazioni, a discapito delle altre, meno avanzate. Purtroppo, esistono già abbastanza squilibri nel vostro pianeta e non vorremmo essere proprio noi ad accentuarli.”
“Avete incontrato altre civiltà oltre la nostra?”
“Fino ad ora, solo qualche forma di vita; civiltà nemmeno una. Siamo qui da poco.”
“Ma c’è chi afferma di avere visto oggetti volanti extraterrestri o di avere avuto incontri con alieni.” Le storie sugli UFO lo avevano sempre interessato, ma lasciato piuttosto dubbioso.
“Nel tuo mondo e per voi è, e sarà, molto improbabile che avvenga qualcosa del genere. Il limite imposto dall’insuperabilità della velocità della luce, vi preclude ogni possibilità di allontanarvi di molto e quindi di incontrarvi. Ammesso che un domani riusciste a costruire qualcosa che si muova a una velocità a essa molto prossima, rimarrebbe il problema dei tempi necessari sia per raggiungerla, dopo la partenza, sia per decrementarla, al momento dell’arrivo. Aggiungi un anno, per ciascuna di queste manovre e sono quattro anni. Ho calcolato che occorre un anno per accelerare o decelerare, perché ciò deve essere fatto gradatamente. Pensa alle tue budella quando ti trovi sulle Montagne Russe e scendi dalla sommità o a quando sei su un autobus e l’autista decelera bruscamente. Queste variazioni di velocità sono un’inezia se le confrontiamo con quelle che occorrerebbero per raggiungere, in breve tempo, la velocità della luce o, al contrario, per passare da essa a una compatibile con l’atterraggio. Infine devi sommare la durata del viaggio, che varierà secondo la meta prescelta. Supponiamo che abbiate già scelto, per x motivi, un sistema planetario e che esso si trovi a cinquanta anni luce di distanza dalla Terra. In questo caso, dobbiamo aggiungere, fra andata e ritorno, altri cento anni. Per chi viaggia, grazie alle leggi della relatività, questi cento anni potrebbero contrarsi, proporzionalmente alla percentuale della velocità della luce raggiunta, mettiamo, a un anno. Concludendo, i viaggiatori torneranno sulla Terra dopo cinque anni del loro tempo, mentre, per chi è rimasto ad aspettarli, ne saranno passati più di cento. Se applichi questo principio a missioni verso mete molto più distanti, capisci immediatamente come, anche se per gli occupanti di quell’astronave sarebbero passati, comunque e soltanto, pochi anni, per chi rimane sulla Terra, ne sarebbero trascorsi sempre quelli indicati dalla distanza in anni luce. Chi sarebbe disposto ad affrontare simili viaggi e tornare sulla Terra, dove, nel frattempo, sono passate centinaia o migliaia di anni? Queste sono le distanze da affrontare per avere una minima probabilità di trovare qualche forma di vita. E senza neanche la certezza di trovarne di intelligente. Perciò, una tale impresa avrebbe forse senso, soltanto, nel caso in cui si abbia qualche forte convinzione sulla meta da raggiungere e si riesca a trovare un equipaggio che accetti di perdere tutto ciò che aveva prima della partenza. Al suo rientro troverebbe, infatti, un mondo del tutto irriconoscibile e incomprensibile, in cui sarebbe incapace di riadattarsi. Insomma, l’alieno sarebbe lui. Immaginati un ipotetico esploratore del medioevo, senza andare più indietro, che arrivi nel mondo attuale a mostrarvi ciò che ha appuntato nelle sue pergamene e a descrivervi, col suo linguaggio e la sua cultura, le sue ultime scoperte. Sarebbe una fonte inesauribile di situazioni esilaranti. Le stelle a migliaia di anni luce e le galassie, distanti milioni o miliardi di anni luce, quindi te le puoi scordare. Non credi?”
“Sembra proprio che sia così.”
“Ciò non vale solo per voi, ma anche per tutti gli eventuali abitanti della vostra fetta di Universo. Quindi, fa a pugni con l’ ipotesi che qualcuno, ogni tanto, venga tranquillamente a trovarvi e poi se ne vada, altrettanto tranquillamente. Pertanto, o si tratta di alieni, vicini come noi in quel senso che ti ho spiegato, dandovi ogni tanto l’illusione di essere visibili, oppure si tratta di fenomeni naturali che non conoscete ancora. Il primo caso non giustifica, però l’eccessivo numero degli avvistamenti che sono stati segnalati.”
“Sembrano troppi anche a me.” convenne, pur se deluso.
“Noi, per studiare le vostre reazioni, ci siamo limitati a pochissimi esperimenti, utilizzando le immagini più o meno fantastiche già esistenti nel vostro cervello. Pensa che Clyde Tombaugh dichiarò di avere visto un’astronave a forma di razzo con vari finestrini, di cui uno illuminato. Ne fece persino un disegno.”
“Tombaugh? E chi è ?” la interruppe Tommaso.
“Lo scopritore del pianeta Plutone. Non ti ricordi? Probabilmente, era rimasto molto impressionato dalle V2 tedesche.”
“Ah sì, ora mi ricordo, scoprì quel pianeta per caso.”
“Un altro, invece, disse di avere visto dei piatti volanti. Forse aveva avuto da poco una lite furiosa con la moglie.” ridacchiò, portandosi una mano sulla bocca. “Altri hanno creduto di vedere alieni, sotto forma d’individui piccoli e con le orecchie a punta, simili a diavoletti; altri ancora, esseri angelici. Insomma, un bel catalogo di paure e di desideri. Tutte le raffigurazioni, avevano in comune, ovviamente, forme umane. Non poteva essere diversamente…”
“Ma non c’è alcuna speranza d’incontro, allora?”
“La vita intelligente vicina e contemporanea a un’altra, nella tua parte di Universo, non è una cosa tanto facile da verificarsi. Specie se consideri che la vita di una stella si misura in miliardi di anni e la durata di una civiltà in migliaia. Il rapporto è di uno su un milione e a distanze inimmaginabili.”
“E tu?”
“Io non appartengo alla tua parte di Universo. Il nostro è un caso particolare ed eccezionale. Tornando al discorso, anche supponendo che le visite dei vostri alieni siano fatte senza equipaggio, tutto quanto abbiamo già detto, porta alla conclusione che sia un evento rarissimo. Oltretutto, non avrebbe senso il protrarsi delle esplorazioni e il gran numero di oggetti riferiti. Noi, per esempio, non staremo qui ancora per molto. Non appena avremo esaurito le nostre curiosità, ce ne andremo a cercarne di altre.”
“Altre forme di vita?”
“Sì, anche quelle.”
“Puoi descrivermene qualcuna?”
“Anche qui, i Bip sarebbero tanti, perché fra loro e voi ci sono più differenze che fra te e una patata. E tu e la patata avete lo stesso DNA. Ogni forma di vita è il risultato di un numero incredibile di eventi casuali. Ognuno di questi eventi, spesso catastrofici, modifica o cancella tutto o quasi, di quanto c’era in precedenza, e impone nuove regole di adattamento. Per esempio, la diffusione dell’ossigeno nell’atmosfera, per voi oggi indispensabile, ha causato la distruzione di quelle forme di vita che precedentemente erano riuscite a formarsi proprio grazie alla sua assenza. Se ciò non fosse avvenuto, l’evoluzione avrebbe seguito altri percorsi e i terrestri di oggi sarebbero difficilmente immaginabili.”
“Credete in Dio?” Già che c’era …
“Non avendo genitori, non ci sembra ovvio come per voi, essere figli di qualcuno.”
“Non vi siete mai chiesti chi ha creato tutto?”
“La creazione richiede un momento iniziale. Il Big Bang che avete ipotizzato è soltanto una conclusione matematica, che deriva dalle vostre conoscenze attuali e che è limitata dal solo tipo di realtà che percepite. E’ una complicazione inutile, come quella che dovette costruire la genialità di Tolomeo per giustificare la concezione geocentrica. Dal punto di vista matematico funziona, ma, come sai, é sbagliata. Anche con la relatività di Einstein puoi arrivare a costruire un sistema geocentrico perfettamente funzionante, ma sarebbe stupido. So che hai studiato qualcosa sulla Teoria della relatività.”
“Sì. Qualcosa.” rivide il diciotto sul libretto.
“Tornando al discorso sul Creatore, anche se ci fosse, ci sfuggirebbe completamente, essendo al di fuori delle nostre possibilità intellettive. Non abbiamo trovato nessuna motivazione dei suoi prodotti sottoposti a trasformazioni continue e spesso distruttive. Se fossimo propensi ad accettare una creazione, dovremmo convenire, allora, che è ancora in fase di attuazione e soggetta a ripensamenti e modifiche. Fra l’altro, non abbiamo ricevuto, come sarebbe successo da voi, nessun suo messaggero.”
“Quindi non seguite alcuna religione?”
“Assolutamente. Alcune regole che fanno parte delle vostre religioni, sono strane e non sanno per niente di divino. Semmai non fanno altro che documentare cosa fosse più conveniente o meno per un popolo, nel luogo e nel periodo storico in cui quelle norme sono state create. Buddhisti, musulmani, ebrei o cristiani, per citarne alcuni, abbracciano una cultura millenaria. Potrebbero essere uomini eccelsi e credere fermamente nei miracoli e nei dettami della propria religione e, nello stesso tempo, ritenere sbagliati, se non stupidi, quelli delle altre. Chi ha ragione allora? Chi è il credulone?”
“Non saprei.”
“Noi pensiamo, allora, che la vostra sete di giustizia e d’immortalità sia stata tradotta nel tempo nelle varie religioni, create dai vari popoli, man mano che essi andavano emergendo dalla bestialità e si evolvevano, autopromuovendosi alleati diretti di divinità esclusive e confinate nella loro stessa cultura.”
“Allora pensi che l’Universo, avendo avuto tutto il tempo a disposizione, si sia fatto gli occhi per osservare se stesso?” Ripescò quella considerazione dai meandri della memoria, ostentandola come sua. Anche lui voleva dire qualcosa d’interessante e fare buona figura.
“George Gamow, “Uno, due, tre, infinito …”. Lo beccò, puntandogli un indice contro la faccia.
“Ehm … Pensi che l’universo si espanderà indefinitamente? Dalle nostre ultime osservazioni sembra che sia così.” Aveva fatto qualche lettura sull’argomento e lo voleva dimostrare.
“Pure la Terra vi era apparsa piatta. Dovreste pensare, anche, che l’espansione dell’universo possa avere un rimbalzo.”
“Allora ritornerà a contrarsi?”
“Sì, ma non fino a quel punto infinitamente piccolo e dotato d’infinita energia che darebbe luogo a un altro dei vostri Big Bang. Anche questo é vietato da un limite che è opposto a quell’altro.”
“Quindi l’universo si comporterebbe come un cuore che pulsa.”
“Esattamente.”
“E quando ha iniziato a pulsare?”
“Prima.”
“Prima di che?”
“A qualunque data o evento in cui tu voglia collocare quell’inizio, io ti risponderò “prima”. Capisco che ti viene più facile pensare così per un “dopo”, ma se ci rifletti un po’, è la stessa cosa. Ciò dipende dal fatto che tu hai avuto inizio con la nascita, ma aspiri all’immortalità, e pensi che tutto sia a tua immagine e somiglianza. Anche la freccia del tempo.”
Seguì una lunga pausa, durante la quale entrambi continuarono a guardarsi, senza dire altro.
Tommaso era rimasto confuso da tutte quelle argomentazioni. Più che le questioni concernenti il destino dell’universo, in fondo legate solamente, almeno per lui, alla curiosità, ma ininfluenti per il quotidiano, lo avevano turbato quelle che lo annichilivano. La logica gli imponeva le stesse conclusioni, ma si ricordò di quando gli si erano rotti i freni dell’auto e, essendo rimasto in bilico su un burrone, aveva implorato l’aiuto della Madonna.
“Che concetto vi siete fatti di noi?” le chiese, sentendosi piccino, piccino.
“Siete molto complessi, quindi è difficile rispondere esaurientemente alla tua domanda. Posso dirti, però come vi percepiamo. Ti accontenti?”
“E’ già qualcosa …”
“Immaginati di trovarti davanti a un prato. Per te ogni filo d’erba è uguale a un altro qualsiasi. Certamente, ne vedrai qualcuno più lungo, un altro più corto; certuni sono più verdi e altri meno. Ma nella sostanza per te sono tutti uguali. Così, per noi, siete voi.”
“Insomma, qualche altra differenza ci sarà pure …” Non gradiva essere accomunato a certi tipi.
“Quello che vi differenzia un po’, sono le zone del cervello che contengono la memoria, che ognuno di voi comincia ad accumulare già prima di nascere. In esse, c’è tutto quanto fa sentire a ogni essere umano di essere un individuo a sé stante. Ogni tipo di esperienza e di sensazione, provoca una serie infinita di successive diversificazioni. Unless you are one to believe that in Genesis when it tells of God creating Earth and then man that because it doesn’t give time in human years that it was 10’s of 100’s of years between Him making earth and putting man on it? Many “Christians” still believe that the dinosaurs are not as old as science professes because earth isn’t that old based on Creation. Thy claim carbon dating is phony. When ever I use salvia or Ayahuasca I come across beings that are very spiritual. They often say that we put to much faith in external sources but none in ourselves. I got this job, thank god. Things are going wrong in life, all you have to do is pray. These are just some examples. In essence people are not taking any responsibility whatsoever. These beings I believe are spiritual in nature so they would have no need to put their eggs in one basket and follow one form of ideology. And then again if there are numerous alien civilizations some may have a god they pray to as well. The possibilities are endless here.

Maff you hit the nail on the head. The same goes with religious biases in reasoning. Why do people want to assume another dimension? Because it’s more romantic? No idea. Seems more likely they come from one of the trillions of planets out there. I also don’t know why we hear angels or anything to do with the bible in here. What else could be omniscient (all knowing), omnipotent (all powerful), and omnipresent (everywhere at all times) unless all of the Intelligent beings in the Universe (acting as neurons) were in continous contact with all of the other Intelligent beings in the Universe. According to Army Sergeant, Clifford Stone there were at least 57 different species of alien cataloged in the 1980s. The Mayan calender which is the worlds most accurate calender shows that time is not linear. The earth rotates every 28,000 years. People do not survive this as all is destroyed. A new ice age crushes everything. If this did not happen we would not find oil in the polar regions.

When you ask about the age of the earth it is millions of years old. In the Bible it is said that God took six days and rested on the seventh. But we have no understanding of Gods time. He exists outside of time. He is at the beginning of creation and in the next moment here with us. And the next a million years into the future. We should not put someone down for not believing. Even not believing in God is a belief that something else must have happened. Let them worry about the chicken and the egg dilemma.
God gave us free will to decide for ourselves what to believe. However there is a benefit to declaring your belief in God.
Creation is hard not to believe in. It was originally a combination of atoms forming all kinds of things. But who or what created the atoms in the first place. Who decided what they would form. The Big Bang as we call it may well have been a controlled thought of our creator. How long it all took is beyond our understanding. A second or a millennium, God exists outside of time.
We try to put all these things in human terms which we can understand. Biblical references are written in the terms of their day. If we were to have Jesus visit today and then wrote a Bible about it, the terms and descriptions would be very different.
If you want to meet the Lord read his book, the Bible. Going to a particular church may well confuse you and contradict what you read in the Bible. Every time you read the Bible you will learn something new. Read the New King James version or New International Translation. These are mainline Bibles which are easy to read. Christians believe what the Bible says. Though we are past stoning people as in the Old Testament, we have modern laws and courts to deal with sins.
