Of the many UFO sighting reports, those made by pilots are considered some of the most credible. They are supposedly trained observers of what is going on in the skies.
Recently a pilot from Warwickshire, UK, had a very compelling sighting. He tells us that he saw two, low-flying, petal-shaped objects, moving at about 1,500 feet. Eventually, they disappeared into the cloud cover. He stated that:
"It was circular in shape, but had a structure which resembled flower petals extending outwards from the center, and the petals were very strongly illuminated and appeared to be glowing as if they were on fire."

Yeah pilot sightings are credible but you tend to hear about their sightings while flying a plain, this guy saw the craft while on the ground , but none the less a bit interesting, a photo or video would make it more so, but not everyone is strapped to such a device at all times, and you never know when lighting is gonna strike, so the story will have to suffice for now………….
good article Billy. I don’t know if you or anyone saw the documentary on the UFO press conference at the National Press Club in Washington, but it was very interesting. There were lots of pilots and men of high ranking, including the people at Bentwater and the governor of Arizona. Anyway, I think it was on the history channel, but perhaps the discovery channel. Pilots usually make pretty good observations and this is a good sighting.
I found out that the show I saw on the History channel and it’s actually available through Amazon.com and is called ‘I Know What I Saw’ by James Fox. (5 customer reviews- all 5 star ratings). From what I can remember there were quite a few pilots in there. A japanese pilot flying over Alaska, an Iranian pilot (which I didn’t read about before so it was interesting) and I think a pilot seeing a big UFO over England (I think I saw that?) Anyway, many very credible people in one place giving their testimonies. Check it out if you like.
I’m a licensed pilot myself, and while I’ve never seen a UFO while flying, I can say that pilots generally are going to be familiar with pretty much all types of conventional aircraft, balloons, etc. An aerial object that stymies a pilot is going to have a pretty good chance of being something unusual.
With the scant information available it is not possible to make any kind of call on this. The last line of the article seems to insinuate that the observed objects could have been Chinese lanterns. In order to evaluate that possibility, I would want to have the winds aloft data for that area on that date and time. Comparing that data to the observed movement of the two objects could well help determine whether they may have just been balloons or Chinese lanterns. Since no anomalistic motion or speed was reported by the observer, one must give consideration to the distinct possibility that these were some kind of balloon-type devices.
I am also a commecial pilot who had a rather famous sighting in Memphis….I’ve seen many ’strange’ things in the sky, but NOTHING that I could diffinitively say was not a meteor, comet, swamp gas, etc…My story was featured on FOX 13 News Memphis, and they had a skeptic that said “We must remember, pilot are not trained observers, they’re only trained to fly airplanes”. I nearly fell out of my seat! Who better knows the skies than a pilot? And by the way, I am a ‘trained’ observer!
If you would like to see the news report in full it is on YouTube….In the search box enter- “Fox 13 news UFO sightings on the rise”.
