UFO Reports from Missouri

By May 29, 2012

Follow me on:

In the last 7-10 days, there have been numerous reports of unknown objects moving through the skies of Missouri, especially Kansas City.

In Blue Spring, spotters have gotten together and formed a group to keep a watch on the skies. There have been photos and video taken of the UFOs.

Check out one of the reports with video at UFO Spotters, Local News Band Together in KC, and do comment if you wish.

This is the kind of sighting report I appreciate!

No one is assuming anything (i.e. as it’s an unidentifiable object being seen, it’s “unidentified”). It’s been viewed by multiple witnesses on multiple consecutive evenings (one even being the news team, themselves). The news team just reported the story without issuing judgement. And, there are both still images and videos.

I’ll be interested to know what NORAD discovers and reports back to the original spotter or MUFON (as they confirmed receiving a report but were investigating).

I would not rule out mistaken identification of planets or stars, although plenty of folks do seem convinced that this is not the case.

Seen through a telescope or binoculars, a star will seem to shimmer and change colors due to atmospheric diffraction and turbulence. It will always be a point of light and will appear to pulsate a bit.

Planets are a different matter – even a modest pair of binoculars or small telescope will resolve the disks of the inner planets, and it will be very obvious that the object being viewed is a planet.

What I would like to see would be videos of these objects in motion with fixed reference points like trees or light poles for perspective.

FWIW, Missouri has also been the location of several black triangle reports in recent years.

Good report. It’s unidentified. No one said it’s an alien craft or anything like that. They just don’t know what it is. It’s also refreshing that the news media didn’t try to ridicule the sightings with alien props or giggles. We’ve had too much of that. (See The Pitch article on the same story). I’m sure MUFON will do all then can to identify it, but Missouri, particularly the KC area has been a hotbed of late for UFO sightings.

I’m sure they’ve ruled out stars and planets. They contacted Norad that would be the first thing out of their mouth!
