UFO Filmed from Plane in Beirut

By , About.com GuideSeptember 22, 2012

Follow me on:

On September 4, in Beirut, a very compelling video was taken from a plane. While filming through the back window, a discoid-shaped object can be seen moving across the sky.

You can see a couple of lights at the bottom of the UFO, which is clearly visible when the video is shown in slo-motion.

So yet another “filming out the airplane window and what do we see” video. These seem to be quite popular of late. I’m calling fake on this one.

Putting fake videos together takes times and effort, and one wonders why there are so many people doing them. Is it just for attention? Is there a concerted effort by someone to muddy the waters, so any evidence is immediately discounted? I have seen 2 ufo’s in my life, and I know they exist. I don’t know what they are, but I know they are out there.

I’ve been in lots of planes and have flown through lots of clouds. In this video you can hardly see to the end of the wing tips, and yet suddenly we can see a large object supposedly fly way out in the clouds. It wouldn’t happen as protrayed, totally fake.

I cannot even bring myself to comment on this farce…

If you stop on one of the frames in which the purported ufo can be seen, the two lights on the bottom are far clearer than one would expect with a typical electronic shutter speed when considering the speed of the object.

Not withstanding all the naysayer’s “expert” rejections of this video, I think it does merit serious consideration. First, it is consistent with many other similar videos– only a momentary glimpse of a fast-moving object, a definite shape with lights of some sort on the lower edge, and due to its very nature, easily missed by almost all other possible witnesses. The lack of contrast of the object is consistent with the cloudy condition. And I agree with the comment re motivation of those who would go to the effort to fake such a video– to what end, given the amount of effort required?

I recall some years back seeing a clearly metallic streak fly across my field of view while driving north on I65 between Montgomery and Birmingham. It was late in the afternoon, and sunny and clear. The streak appeared for just the briefest fraction of a second, from left to rightjust above the horizon– perhaps at 15 degrees. It happened so suddenly and obviously unexpectedly, that I almost didn’t believe what I saw, and indeed, my wife to my right didn’t see it at all. But I am solidly convinced that I did see it, because the reflection of the afternoon sun was so intense on the object- even if only for a tenth of a second. GIven its distance- literally at infinity- and the fact that it flew from left to right across my field of view at an incredible rate of speed, leads me to believe that I did indeed see a UFO.

So what. Even if I had had the good fortune to have had a camera at the ready, I doubt that it would have captured much in the way of detail, if anything. And I own several cameras– pro quality- both digital still and video. In other words, it is perfectly acceptable to be cautious and perhaps cynical in evaluating all such reports, but lets not be so exclusionary as to throw out all such reports as “fake” and dillusional imaginings for lack of solid photographic evidence.

Did they have inside information on when and where this fly by would occur? This is like the one in the hurricane. It looks right but too foggy to tell for sure!
