Endeavour's Last Flight: and a UFO

By , About.com GuideOctober 11, 2012

Follow me on:

On September 21, in Long Beach, California, the Space Shuttle Endeavour made its last pass over the Queen Mary. There was a crowd of people there, and as you would expect, video cameras were rolling.

A number of different videos, when later examined by their owners, showed something else flying that day; a UFO. The unknown object can first be seen to the right of the Endeavour, then appears to its left.

See what you think about it at NASA Endeavour Flying over the Queen Mary for Last Flight - UFO Filmed?, and be sure to let us know your opinion.

Watching the slowed down version, to me, looks like a seagull.

On other yoy tube video’s of this last flight there are at least two chase planes flying with the 747, but not this one that I can see. I think this was just a chase plane. At one point right near the end you can see the sunlight reflect off of the silver surface.

Interesting video– as is too often the case, the clip is just a few seconds, and the UFO is at a great distance, but does appear to close on hte shuttle 747 craft, only to drop and then reappear below. This is not a bird– simply too big for the distance, and reflective. Nor is it a chase plane, as it appears distinctly different (sphyrical) than the other chase plane (T38/ F5) shown separately. Beyond that, need better video to draw any distinctive conclusions.

I could make out two objects moving from right to left (approaching from front then disappearing behind the plane) and the other (suddenly appearing near visible side of the plane and approaching the front portion then disappearing) at the same time. If you pause the video at this point (precisly 1:19) both of the objects are visible simultaneously on different sides of the plane and moving in different directions.

Looks to me like a camera artifact. This plane usually flies with a chase plane or two, but it’s hard to tell if that’s what they were. Interesting nonetheless.

It does look like 2 chase planes. Myself, this is one i would throw out. It could have been a bird!
