What Happened to "End of the World?"

By December 12, 2012

Follow me on:

It is quite strange to me that last year was full of articles, reports, messages, etc. all about the so-called "End of the World" as foretold by the Mayans. As a matter of fact, the one blog that received the most comments of all time concerned this Mayan inspired warning.

At that time I felt that 2012 would really be something, but the subject seemed to fade away. It is true that there has been an increase lately, as December 21 approaches, but nothing like I thought.

Tell me why? Did we all get educated enough to see the silliness of the whole thing. Why is so little being said about the supposed doomsday?

Hello Billy!
I am also disappointed. About 3 years ago I saw several UFOs, some very close, and even had visions of ets. Now, since some time now, everything is strangely silent.
We can only wait to see what will happen. If is the end of the world, patience, one day we had to die anyway!

The History channels are sure milking the subject for all it’s worth. I guess that’s their job though huh? I think it’s fading away because we’ve lived thru several of these “end of the world” moments over the last several decades. People hearing reliable sources claiming the Mayan calendar resets instead of ending helps fade it away as well.

I’d still like to know what happen to the Mayan civilization though, wouldn’t you?

:)

I think that the hype is over with. All I want to be is ready for the Lord to return.

” Matthew 24:36-37:36 — No one knows about that day or hour, not even the angels in heaven, nor the Son, but only the Father. 37 As it was in the days of Noah, so it will be at the coming of the Son of Man.”

@Barbara,

How perfectly appropriate. You realize that the Mayan story is a story, but don’t realize that the one you believe in is no different. *sigh* What will happen to us if people don’t wake up????

The Mayans studied Astrology concerning Planetary alignments. Some of you readers may be interested to read the ‘ Mayan Codex ‘.

The mayans never predicted the end of the world, they predicted a change in the world. The world has had many extreme physical changes in the last 20 years and that is not over. We have seen big changes spiritually, and I feel that is where we evolve to the next level. According to the Mayan cosmology, since around 1989, we have been living in “no time”. this is the time that we will be creating our next cycle. That is why there is so much preaching on being positive, thinking good things, doing good things and changing self. Through changing self, you contribute to changing the world. The Mayans didn’t disappear, they still are here. They live a very secluded and simple live. That was also a documented segment on History channel…

(9) Sam B says:

The Mayan calendar, like many other meso-American calendars of the time, was composed of cycles and sub-cycles constructed on a Base 20 number system. Every so often, these cycles come together in what is called by the Mayans a “bakt’un”, or Long Count. There have been, I believe 12 Long counts since the mythical founding of the world (according to Mayan mythology), and 12/21/2012 is the beginning of the 13th Long Count.

There is no prediction of the end of the world or anything else associated with occurrence of this cyclical event. 12/21/2012 simply represents the “resetting”, as someone else termed it, of the Mayan calender and the beginning of the next Long Count.

The vast majority of people who are carrying on about The End of the World are people who are selling survival supplies and books about The End of the World.

See you on 12/22!

The Mayans themselves had to explain to the European-derived classes that the calendar was being misinterpreted, and they misrepresented. I’ll take good advice wherever I can get it, but that coming from the source was unimpeachable. Besides, their explanation for what it means for an age to end and another to begin is far more pleasant and uplifting than all the nonsense surrounding 12/21/12.

Here’s to another year, and far better times for us all–

Hell is empty, all of the demons are here. Don’t be so sure nothing bad will happen on or before 12-21-12 — that Connecticut school shooting wasn’t by accident. Bad and evil forces in the works and not necessarily geographically related. (i.e. earthquakes, volcanoes, tsunamis). Pay attention.

Everything we think we know is an illusion. They, the gods, aliens, etc. are here, have been here and will soon make themselves universal known. If you think the New World Order is being organized by humans…think again. Everything is going just as is it supposed to and will soon reveal itself. Do not underestimate Dec. 21. Our world will change but not necessarily for the bad. If you don’t believe in the “gods” and that in reality they were just beings very advanced how can you believe in the Bible? One makes more sense than the other. Want to guess which one?

(13) The Observer says:

The world will never end so soon. This is a period of the cycle changes whereupon we will see more destruction of nations fighting each other, shifting of the earth crust, volcanoes eruptions, storms and earthquakes.
This is part of the earth purification to bring the 5 continents to become One big continent. This will not be an overnight change but through many years from now. Through this processes, the earth rust will take a new changes and many human lives will be affected. Nevertheless, at the end of the changes, there will be peace and love everywhere.

Imagine this: We all live in a yellow submarine headed for the F-Cliff where the Blue Meanies live. They are led by the orange dwarf Baynor the terrible, who keeps a list of wealthy donors who are the sacred few. When we reach the EOD (End of Days) predicted by the prophet Maconel, there will be a gnashing of teeth and flailing of arms and wailing of the tonsils. Some, believing it will be a new era, have thrown all their Dol’rs to the destruction of Mid-Erth where the majority of Mid-Erthians live. They are the workers who will rise up a slay the Fatties who loll on the mountain tops in their yammies and fookas. This will be the end of the end of days and all will be done. Let it be written in the script tours and let the preests show the way. Hal a lose ya.

I don’t get it. People are actually sad that the world didn’t end? That cataclysms didn’t shake the Earth? That war’s or disaster’s didn’t claim everyone we deem, what, unworthy? Why would we want that? I want the world to hurry up and grow into what It wants to be. I think that it is starting to do that, and yes I do have an idea that there is a connection with this whole subject. What do I know? Very little, but something is going on, that’s obvious if your eyes are open.

Come on people, we are still here. Next thing “flying pigs” will be a certainty. These rumors and stories are born out of our own insecurities, and not by some higher being. If god wanted to snuff us out, there have been many reasons to throughout history. Man is his own worst enemy, by action or belief.

The way I see it is yes one of these day it will be the end of all that live on this planet but the planet will be here long after the people are gone. We are like ticks on the planets back and some day we will be cleaned off. Call it the cleansing effect. The way the people are ran by the governments of this planet you may not even know its coming. Anyway if it happens see you on the other side and if there isn’t a other side its been nice.
