Definition: In the 1970s, large circles of flattened grain began to appear in British fields. The circles gradually became more complex, forming something like pictograms. Many researchers tried to explain them by theories including magnetic fields, plasma vortices, twisters, and alien visitors leaving messages. Many of the circles were found to be created by hoaxsters. They are now found all over the globe.
