1991 - The Freeway and Missing Time

Several years later, in 1991, we were on our way home from my parent's house on a Sunday evening. My oldest son was 5 years old. I made mental notes on the freeway about which cars were where in the lanes.

Traffic was busy in all lanes. I remember watching a yellow truck in the next lane over. Next thing I know we are all dead tired, and traffic was very light. I wondered where it had all gone.

When we got home it should have only taken 20 minutes, but it had taken a couple of hours. We all went right to bed.

The next morning when I was helping my son get dressed, he said, "Mommy, when are we going to see your babies again?"

I told him I didn't have any babies except him and his two brothers.

Then he said, "What about the babies we saw last night?"

I asked him what he meant and he said, "Don't you remember the tall, skinny lady in the white coat who showed us the babies in the nursery?"

I told him no, but asked him how many babies there were.

He said there were 5. When I got to work I sat down and started thinking about his weird comments, and I noticed slight bruises around my wrists, like bracelets that were too tight.

Then I found the same type of bruise around both ankles. I always thought it was strange that when I had my second child, the doctor was concerned about my uterus, saying I should not try to have anymore children because it looked very thin, like I had 6 or 7 kids.

Weird. I don't doubt this stuff, but I wish I knew what really happened. I feel bad that I might have kids out there somewhere and I haven't been a mom to them.

I was wondering how to find out if the episode at Sears was recorded anywhere - I remember seeing a blurb in the paper about it a few days afterwards, about the gas leak and "strange cloud."

But I've never heard about a sighting like the one we saw in the night sky. It was bizarre.
