A friend of mine from Facebook has sent me the details of his UFO sighting over Texas in 1997. His name is used with permission.

My name is Kent Pinkerton. I drove a truck for 39 years, and I have witnessed several UFOs over the years.

My first sighting came on March 12, 1997. I was on I-40, east of Amarillo, Texas, at the 143 mile marker near the rest area.

As I traveled east, I noticed a large, white light coming from north to south near the Interstate. As I looked closer, I saw that it was moving very slowly.

I thought it was a blimp at first. It was a clear, beautiful night, and as the craft approached closer to the Interstate, it looked very large, about 2 football fields long, and about 1,000 feet or so above the ground.

Even as it got closer, there was no sound. It had lights in the shape of a V. I had pulled off on the shoulder of the road to get out of my truck to take a look.

Just at is got above me, there were about 5 white lights that shot off of the craft and disappeared, and the large craft then disappeared right before my eyes. I was totally amazed.

I sat in my truck to see if anything else would appear, but it didn't. I called the local radio station in Amarillo and asked if they had received any reports of sightings and they said no.

What was so odd was when I read about the Phoenix Lights on March 13th. Reading about that in the paper I think, only confirmed to me what I had seen.

I don't mind if my name is published here because I know a lot of people believe, and don't think I am crazy.

Thank You,

Kent Pinkerton

Morganton, North Carolina
