After a brief period of quiet, the sightings have begun anew. Following is a synopsis of some of the most notable reports during the month of January, 2009. On January 2, in Carlisle couple saw strange lights over Houghton. They claimed to see a bizarre collection of oval lights.
Also, on the same day, two couples were amazed when they sighted a "flaming orange ball" heading in their direction. One woman appealed to others to come forward if they too, had seen the object.
On January 3, a 16 year old man reported to me that he saw a glowing, circular object in the skies above north London.
On January 4, a man saw a strange, orange glowing object over the Saltcoats coastline. The witness stated, "It was orange and it looked like it was on fire. I can't say for sure what it was, but I can definitely say that it was not a conventional aircraft or a rescue flare."
On January 5, an amateur fossil hunter photographed an object he could not identify over Runswick. The object was unlike anything he had seen before.
On January 8, the first reports were made of damage to a wind farm in Conisholme. The damage was under investigation, with multiple reports of strange lights, and glowing objects seen in the area shortly before the incident.
On January 9, a report was made to a British newspaper that a "tentacled" UFO was seen near the Conisholme wind farm shortly before the damage occurred.
On January 10, reports of a "yellow sphere" over Frodsham were filed. The object followed normal flight paths from the Liverpool John Lennon Airport.
On January 11, News STV.TV released video footage taken over Bonnybridge, which is known as "Scotland's UFO hotspot."
On January 12, more video footage was released by The Telegraph and Argus newspaper. The unknown objects in the film were reported over Bradford. After the film was made public, three other witnesses reported that they had witnessed a white object on the same night.
On January 13, residents in the Dedworth area of Windsor witnessed an unidentified flying object as it hovered above houses before flying off towards Slough.
Also on January 13, a group of friends in Cambridge claim to have spotted a UFO similar to that which allegedly caused damage to the wind farm turbine in Lincolnshire.
On January 14, a report was published by The Guardian paper of an unusual, pink "jellyfish-shaped" UFO. The strange object was reported to have hovered over Merton, in Wimbledon.
On January 15, three people reported a UFO on the outskirts of Oxford. The report was handled by Contact International UFO Research.
Also on January 15, the Evening Telegraph published a report by a couple who saw a series of strange lights floating across the night sky in Peterborough.
Also on January 15, eight flashing orbs were reported blinking in the sky over Ifield by Sarah Carter. Carter told the Crawley Observer, "I found it very eerie. There were about eight bright lights just hanging in the sky."
On January 16, the Scunthorpe Telegraph reported that two residents of North Lincolnshire had seen two strange, floating object over their town.
Also on January 16, a woman spotted and photographed a glowing object over a nursing home in Wrexham. Several other sightings were reported over the town on the same night.
On January 17, a report was released of a sighting with photograph of a very unusual "donut-shaped" UFO. It was taken by Brian Lee while driving in South Somercotes.
Also on January 18, another photograph of a UFO was taken over Wakefield Prison in West Yorks.
