Recent United Kingdom Reports
An about.com reader has sent me a couple of sighting reports from the United Kingdom. As you probably know, the UK has had more that its share of reports in the last few years. See my article on the British UFO Wave.
There has been one big problem with studying the many sightings from the UK, the sudden rise of the number of Chinese lanterns launched the last few years. So many of the sightings have been explained by the lanterns that more recent UK sightings have been quickly skimmed over, or disregarded altogether.
We have to get past using this as an explanation for all sightings in the UK, and get back to evaluating each case on its own merits. Consider the reports below with this in mind.
First Report
I live in Conisbrough, UK, and on Thursday, September 24, at exactly 8:31 PM, I looked up into the sky and saw an object, a very bright object moving fast towards the back end of a jet airliner. The object seemed to be about the same size as the plane.
The object followed the plane for a time, just keeping its distance, then it suddenly stopped, while the plane continued on its current path. A few seconds later, the UFO did a gradual U-turn, and sped away at a fantastic speed.
The reader states that you would just have to had seen what he saw to understand it. There was no one else around at the time, and our eyewitness has been very reluctant to tell anyone about what he saw because of ridicule. The few that he has related his account to, have laughed at his story.
Second Report
On December 20, 2009, at 10:30 PM, I saw an object about 200 feet above my home. It was a fantastic sight, the object was so very clear to see as it moved at about 40-50 mph. This was not a Chinese lantern, as there was no wind at all that night. This sighting was also witnessed by my wife, along with many others who reported this sighting.
The reporter has been studying UFOs for many years, and has read literally thousands of reports. He believes that the objects he has seen are not of this world.
