Introduction
One of readers has sent me an account that was related to him by his grandmother. The incident occurred in 1967, in the state of Connecticut. He tells us that:
My grandfather was on his way home from work in Plainfield CT, and he noticed a very bright light coming from a quarry pit. He was on Green Hollow Road in Danielson, CT. He pulled his car over, and walked up to the quarry.
He said he was on a grassy hill looking down at this grayish round-like craft, and the lights were almost blinding. The UFO was basically hovering about 10 to 15 feet off of the ground. The distance from the UFO was about 90 feet.
It was making a very loud humming noise. He stated that the UFO made him feel very weak, like it was somehow draining his energy. At this time, he wanted someone else to witness what he was seeing, so he left the area and got back in his car.
Seeking a Second Witness
He only lived a minute away from where this was taking place. He got his wife in the car, and told her that she would not believe what he had just seen in the quarries.
She told me that she was a little frightened because she had never seen him act this way before, and was very curious as to what he was going to show her.
But when they got back to where he saw the UFO, it was gone. My grandmother told me that whatever he saw was real. My grandfather served in the Army in World War II, and was the owner of a small plastic manufacturing plant with over 20 employees.
UFO Sighted by Cousin
The very same night he saw the UFO, he got a call from one of his cousins, not too long after the sighting. His cousin told him that he had seen an object in the sky that was no aircraft. His description of the unknown craft was very similar to what my grandfather had seen.
He said that the UFO was gray in color, and round, with very bright lights. He even pulled his car over to the side of the road for a better look, and what he saw was different than anything he had ever seen before.
They both wondered how many other people witnessed the same object they had, but just had not reported it to the authorities.
Witness Reliability
My name is John, and I wanted to share this story with you, my grandfather was dead before I was born, but this story was told to me by my grandmother, Claire. My grandfather's name was Rudolf. His cousin, who saw the UFO, wanted to stay anonymous.
I know for sure that my grandfather witnessed a UFO, my grandmother told me that after he saw the UFO, he was not himself for at least a week, he was almost afraid of what he had seen because he could not explain it.
He told his story to a lot of people he knew, and all who knew him regarded him as a smart and honest man, who would never make up a story like what he told. He knew what he saw was not a military plane, and believed it was not from this world.
