2007 - The Fayetteville, North Carolina Aliens

Cape Fear, North Carolina, certainly lived up to its name on January 8, 2007. Five fishing buddies would see UFOs near their favorite fishing bank, and a man and his son would encounter alien beings in a forest near their home. See my complete account of this case at Fayetteville, North Carolina Encounter.

Chris Bledsoe Sr. whom I have communicated with, was the chief character of a series of events that would bring an entire team of MUFON investigators to the scene. The details of the case would eventually be made into an hour-long special on an episode of "UFOs over Earth," presented by the Discovery Channel.

Bledsoe and three of his friends were fishing on the banks of the Cape Fear River. Bledsoe took a short walk away from the fishing spot, and saw three unknown objects in the sky. He ran back to tell the others what he had seen. He thought he had been gone about twenty minutes.

While Bledsoe was gone on his walk, his friends had become worried about him, and even drove down the road to find him. He was nowhere to be seen. Bledsoe has been gone for 3-4 hours!

Bledsoe's group soon saw the UFOs, which frightened them to the point of dropping their gear, and speeding away in their truck. When they made the first intersection, they saw a fourth object, much larger than the others - oblong and spiked.

When Bledsoe finally arrived home, he heard his dogs barking madly outside. He went out to see what was causing them to be so upset, and saw his Chesapeake Bay Retriever disappear into the woods, followed by the other dogs.

Bledsoe followed the group of dogs into the woods, and soon he was shocked to see a small being standing in the forest. He estimated its height at about 3 foot. It appeared to have been made from glass, and had red-colored eyes.

When his dogs met up with him, the being disappeared. At about the same time, Bledsoe's son saw two red orbs floating through the forest. Soon, two of the beings were seen as they emerged from the woods.

Bledsoe's encounter caused him great dismay - anxiety, stress, and bad headaches. He decided to tell his story and called MUFON. The MUFON team was very impressed with Bledsoe's story, and felt that he was reliable and honest.

His fishing companions were questioned, and their stories only validated what Bledsoe had stated about the sighting of the UFOs. Next, Bledsoe underwent regressive hypnosis under the guidance of Harvard graduate Michael O'Connell.

This session revealed that Bledsoe had been abducted by four, tall, alien beings. The smaller aliens encountered in the forest were children of these beings. Next Bledsoe would undergo a psychological examination, given by Psychiatric Social Worker, Debbie Gioia.

Bledsoe flew through the examination by Gioia, and had only one more hurdle to jump over, a simple lie detector test. MUFON was totally confident that Bledsoe would pass without a problem. But, this was not to be.

This final test was monitored by retired FBI analyst, Bob DrDak. The result were not good, but still believing in Bledsoe's account, the MUFON team felt that there must be a good reason for his failing the polygraph.

In the aftermath of his encounter, Bledsoe had exhibited doubts about the encounter, and wondered if he really saw what he thought he saw. This doubt could well have affected the findings of the polygraph. Possibly, a second polygraph would shed a more positive light on Bledsoe.

2008 - The Stephenville, Texas Sightings

In January of 2008, one of the decade's most celebrated UFO cases began. The sightings of giant UFOs, often chased by military craft, would create a media frenzy. Thousands of reporters, UFO buffs, and other interested parties would visit the farming community of Stephenville, Texas, wanting answers and wondering if this would be the one case that would tilt the scales to the UFO believers.

See my full account of this case at The Texas Sightings of 2008. Here is one of reports that got the ball rolling:

On 01-08-2008, at 6:15 PM, CST, my friends and I were watching the sunset when several strobes or flashing lights coming from the east at about 3500 feet and heading west toward Stephenville, Texas, were observed. Estimated speed was 2000 to 3000 MPH.

The strobes made several changes of flash patterns and configurations. The flight duration lasted about 3 minutes. The front two strobes were about 1/2 mile apart and the back ones were about 1 mile back from the front strobes.

The back side of the flashing lights came to a vertical flashing. Then there were 2 separate vertical flames about 1/4 mile apart for several seconds and the craft was gone.

We never head any noise from the craft! They headed west towards Abilene, Texas. Then about 10 minutes later, the craft was seen again. This time with 2 jets chasing it.

They were headed east towards south Ft. Worth, at about 4000 feet altitude. The jets were unable to catch up with the UFO, and went off into the distance at FULL throttle.

I am a pilot and have been flying for 30 years and have never seen anything like this. I also fly several times a week in the area. The craft is NOT from around these parts!

Many similar reports followed, and the press was overwhelmed with reports and interviews with eyewitnesses. MUFON joined the hunt, and assembled a team to visit Stephenville. Hundreds of eyewitnesses came forward with their reports, drawings, photographs, and lots of speculation.

Ultimately, when all the dust cleared, there was no doubt that something out of the ordinary happened in and near Stephenville, Texas. The military was involved, but to what extent we may never know. It is surmised that military jets were attempting to overtake the UFOs that flew over Texas. The Stephenville sightings are a land mark case in Ufology.
