The following account is of the landing of a UFO in Clayton, Delaware in February, 2005. The details of the event were only recently made public by my good friend Ken Pfeifer of MUFON.
Reports of UFO landings are always suspect, and there are not a lot of them. A few of the best documented ones are The Levelland Texas Landings, UFO Lands in Socorro, New Mexico, and The Voronezh UFO Landing.
Sighting the Object
At about 9:45 PM, on February 19, 2005, our story begins. Our eyewitness/reporter had just finished working and was driving toward the West on his way home. Only a few miles from his home is when he first saw the object.
To the southwest, he noticed what he described as a "greenish colored star." It was quite high in the sky. He continued to watch the interesting object as he continued toward home. There had been only a few cars on the road that night, and as he made the last turn to his house, he was alone on the road.
When he was about a minute from home, the object made a rapid, seemingly impossible maneuver; from the southwest sky to directly in front of him. As it did, it changed from being star-like to a triangular shape.
The triangle-shaped UFO had a very brilliant green-white laser-like tail; its brightness was beyond belief, to the point of hurting his eyes. Though not far from him now, about 15 feet in altitude, he could hear no sound at all.
Object Lands
To his utter amazement the object landed in a field next to a large grove of trees. The bright, green tail was still very bright. He had now stopped his vehicle to see this almost unbelievable sight. He could clearly see the object: it was about 60 feet across the front and 100 feet in length.
The point of the triangle was rounded, and the sides had a rounded taper to them. The texture of the skin was strange: there were lines and what appeared to be deep grooves running along the underside of the object. There were also green lights, evenly spaced under the object, next to the lines.
The witness says that he was petrified when the saw the UFO descending across the road. After a brief moment of being mesmerized by this sight, fear overcame him. He slammed his vehicle into reverse and floored the accelerator, burning rubber as he put distance between him and the other-worldly craft.
Reaching what he felt was a safe distance, he stopped again. He still had an unobstructed view of the object. He watched in awe as the UFO began to ascend, turning slowly as it lifted off of the ground. Then, for a brief time period, it sat motionless over the trees, which he estimated were 60-70 feet high.
Frozen in Fear
The man was at a loss as to what to do. He was frozen in fear. He couldn't think clearly. He thought to himself, "why me, why now?" He slowly maneuvered his car into someone's driveway, and shut off the headlights. Now, he could see the hovering object through the sunroof.
As the object sat motionless in the sky, finally it turned off the green laser. His fright was taken to a new level as the object began moving in his direction. It then stopped again, this time right above his car. He now felt that he was losing his mind. He thought, "this just can't be real."
The object sat there for fifteen, long minutes as the witness sat watching. Finally, to his joy, it began to move away, albeit slowly. It began to pick up speed though as it headed across a nearby field. Its massive size began to get smaller as it moved farther away.
For the first time, he felt safe now. He sped away toward home. The stress was too much for him; he couldn't sleep. One month later, he suffered a heart attack. At that time, he was 48, with no history of any type of heart or health problems. As he recuperated, his sleepless nights finally were gone. To this day, he has no idea what he saw, where it came from, or what its agenda was.
