Only the one on the left that was blinking colored red and blue-white lights suddenly stopped in midair for a second then, reversed in the exact opposite direction that it came from.
It did not turn around, it just suddenly changed course from the direction it came, then speed away toward downtown Los Angeles. No craft that I am aware of can stop in midair, then change direction so quickly. Did anyone else see this? source: www.mufon.com
California-01-18-09-My family went to eat and while I was home I received a frantic call urging me to look outside. My husband instructed me to look outside the second story bedroom window. I looked out and say a bright object. I ran outside to look closer.
My immediate reaction was that it looked like a moon between clouds. Then I looked around and the sky was clear. Then I was thinking it was an advertising blimp. But then I realized it was none of these. I rushed to my garage and retrieved my telescope without the base.
By now my family had returned and we were all looking at it. After several attempts, I got it completely focused in my scope and could not believe my eyes. It was no craft of any sort, it was an eye-shaped orb that seemed to look like a contact lens being squeezed, and inside the orb was a red light, sort bouncing and moving.
Directly on the left of the orb was a bright light looking similar to a star in the scope. It was not directly up, it was directly above the horizon line. My family, 4 adults, all saw it after dinner and stopped and got out of the car to observe it. They all said it stopped on a dime and moved fast. California-01-19-09-Last night when driving to work, less than 2 minutes after getting on the main road I travel on to get to work, I happened to look up off to my left and saw this large oval shaped object that was in the sky.
I drove a little slower to get a better view of this object, and it became clear that this object was moving very slowly. I heard no sounds from this object at all.
Now at this point, I am positive that this wasn't a plane, light tower, or a chopper. What was very strange about this large object with a flashing red light in the sky was that it seemed to almost follow me down the main road all the way to work, covering a 2 mile distance.
I wondered how this object in the night sky could have covered so much ground, yet appeared to travel very slowly. Looking at the object directly with my driver side window down, the light from this moving object was very obvious and bright, still off to my left, slightly northward.
At this point, my heart was racing... it was surely fantastic. I was thinking, "What in the world am I looking at?" Strangely enough, this light appeared visible even as I neared my work. California-01-19-09-My son came to get me after he received several phone calls from his friends about seeing a UFO in the sky, and some had seen it the previous night, also.
I went outside, and we watched this thing stay perfectly still, while watching the stars change position, as usual. It was very cloudy, and this thing was below the clouds. It brightened to the size of a dime, from our viewpoint, and occasionally dimmed, but only briefly.
It seemed to split and reemerge. After 8:00, I went back out and it was gone. source: www.mufon.com
