California-09-01-08-In the small hours of September 1, 2008, I was going to my room via the outside landing where it was my habit to look up at the sky as I passed. I stopped for a moment at the railing and thought to myself, "I've looked up at the night sky probably many thousands of times in the last fifteen years, and never seen so much as an unexplainable light."
At the very moment I finished that thought, a huge thing flew silently over my head coming from behind me, moving from the east to the west.
As it moved off, it appeared to be traveling a bit to the south so that it would have been going southwest toward the ocean. I knew immediately that it was a UFO. It was a little overcast with wisps of fog. Only some stars were visible. The UFO was under the overcast cloud cover, with just a few wisps of fog under it, so its lights were very clear. It had four small red lights in a perfect square, and between those lights, it was pitch black with no stars visible. It looked big and solid, and maybe 20'-30' across, but I'm not very good at estimating the size, distance, or speed of anything. I couldn't make out the shape of the craft because it blended in with the night sky, and it disappeared, or had moved out of view after only about four-seconds.
I was frozen to the spot, and just kept repeating OMG. I was a little afraid, and I think I stood there for maybe five minutes. I went into my room, looked at my clock, and it said 3:50 AM. This was the first sighting I've had that I couldn't dismiss as possibly some other thing. source: www.mufon.com
Ohio-09-25-08-I walked down to my garage at around 11:00 PM. I was putting my cat in the garage, but before I did, I walked out to my gate and was gazing at the western sky. It was a dry, warm night, and there were stars out, and a few airplanes in the sky. There is nothing but a field where I was looking-I live in the country. As I was looking out into the field, I saw an object in the sky, a little bit above tree-height, flashing colors. It was an object that seemed to flash colors as it looked to be turning, or spinning.
The lights emanating from the object were different colors-pink, blue, green, and pastel colors. The object was completely silent, and hovered for 10 minutes or so. I couldn't really make out the shape of the UFO. I went up to the house to get my film camera and video camera. When I came back it was gone... I was disappointed.
Then, I looked down at the ground, looking at the bushes. All of a sudden I looked up and there it was, staring right at me. It was at tree-top height directly across from me, in front of a house, across the road. The field I was looking at before is right alongside the house across the road. The UFO appeared totally different now. It was circular, and of a star-like color, only a little warmer color. It was white, though. It hovered for a minute or so while I picked up my cameras and took pictures.
When I aimed my film camera, I couldn't see anything in the lens, but took the picture anyway. I got my video camera up and shot that too. After I took my photos, the object, completely silent, then started to drop down from the sky toward the ground. It was completely descending to the ground, I thought.
I walked over to the gate trying to get a look at it goes down to the ground, but when I got around the gate, it was gone. It must have gone behind the house as I couldn't see it anymore. I was wondering why it had disappeared on me, but in the morning I viewed the spot again where it had descended, and it obviously had to have gone behind the house. It had been further away than I had thought. source: www.mufon.com
Pennsylvania-09-30-08-11:00 PM, Greensburg. I was standing on the sidewalk in front of my house when I looked up at the stars. It was a clear night. I saw what looked like an aircraft illuminated with flashing red and white (maybe also blue) lights. The small spec was especially brilliantly illuminated. I thought nothing of it until the flight path of the object suddenly changed. It stopped flying in a straight line across the sky. It moved sharply to the right (as if turning on a dime).
It traveled in a relatively tight circle in a jagged path. I suspected this was a conventional aircraft in some kind of distress. Sometimes the object seemed to not be moving at all. I thought this could be a helicopter, but the movements seemed to be too sharp to be performed by any typical aircraft.
I looked away for a moment. (I went back to my front door, locked the door, then came back to the sidewalk.) The object had moved further to my right then resumed a straight flying path until it was out of sight. The path flown by the object did not look at all feasible for conventional aircraft. Rapid, sharp movements, headed in no particular direction for several minutes, have me suspecting this was not a conventional aircraft. source: www.mufon.com
