At first glance, it was a helicopter in the distance. I turned to look away for a brief second, and when I looked back at the red light all of a sudden what I thought was a helicopter was all of a sudden much closer and it is much larger than a helicopter. 249 is 3 lanes, this plane/object was about 1 to two lanes bigger on each side than the 3 lanes. So, it's like 5 to 6 lanes wide.
By this time it has my full attention and everyone else's, and is looking more like an airplane with a large wing span with huge spot lights at the end of each wing, it has strobe lights like planes do at the end of what I thought were wings, and flying very low to the ground still flying just above the pine trees. Finally, it did a 90 degree turn, and I was thinking, UFO! source: www.mufon.com
Canada-09-23-08-Each time I have experienced a sighting I've been quietly enjoying a cigarette while seated in my backyard. I had not ingested or smoked any kind of mind altering substance. The most recent sighting was a dark night, and the sky was clear of clouds and some of the brighter stars were visible as they usually are from our back-yard.
Three of us suddenly saw a white round ball of light (much, much larger than a star) that was totally silent moving across the northeastern sky at a steady but fast pace for about 5 seconds. Then it simply disappeared about 30 degrees up from the horizon-in mid-air.
It seemed to be moving from the north to the east. It was hard to determine how high it was, but it seemed to be flying at the level of jets. There were no flashing lights, no colors, and no sound following behind as a jet rumble usually does. We were at a loss to find an explanation for what it was, but it was not the first time we had seen this type of object in the night sky from our back-yard. source: www.mufon.com
I hope you enjoyed these reports, and be sure to come back next week for more reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies.
