Whatever Happened to UFOs?

Thursday May 11, 2006
UFO They've been trying to do it for over 50 years now...kill ufology that is. Where's the proof? they ask. And yet there are many cases that contain more than adequate evidence to hold up in any court. But in a trial, both sides get to present their evidence, whereas in many UFO cases, the debunkers just proclaim: "It was a balloon, It was a satellite, It was simply a misidentification, The witness was really seeing Venus." This is enough for most folks, if they say so, then it was not a UFO. It couldn't be, therefore it isn't. Now we have people saying that the interest in UFOs since the late 1940s was just a phase, and that phase is past now. Among other things, they say the Internet killed ufology. There are too many other things to be interested in.

Whatever happened to ... UFOs? by Iain Hollingshead gives us all the reason we need to just give up on UFOs. Stating that almost all UFO sightings can easily be explained away by everyday explanations, Mr. Hollingshead needs to just do a little more research before making such a claim. Sure, the alien autopsy was a big fake: so what? One man makes a false claim so the entire Roswell event was a hoax. Not a very good deduction. Maybe there was another real autopsy that we just haven't seen yet. And what about the Phoenix Lights? Oh yeah! flares I suppose. And Rendlesham Forest? Right! the lighthouse beam. The Mexican military film? Sure, it was just oil field fires being reflected up into the clouds. Well, Mr. Hollingshead, I've done your work for you. I've debunked a few of the best cases, see how easy it is. We don't even need any proof at all. Any reasonable explanation will do. I have a real strong feeling that UFO sightings will continue, and just maybe someday that one case will come along that will baffle even the best debunkers. Wouldn't it be nice?

I am convinced that if the aliens landed on the White House Lawn and were seen on TV there would still be debunkers. After all there are those who deny the Holicast which was a well documented event and those who still believe we have a flat earth.

We have right now on Earth an ongoing (for 50+ years) verifiable, overwhelming proof case in the Billy Meier case. Despite both verbal and physical attacks (21 documented assasination attempts, attempts to abduct his children etc), and even attacks from within the UFO community, this case is still the best case in existence and holds more than enough evidence to prove the existence of UFOs.

Go to www.theyfly.com or http://meiercase.0×2a.info/meiercase/index.php, for starters!

Remember the big wave of UFOs over Mexico City everyone? Remember the photos, videos ect.

And a decade or so before that were the Hudson Valley (and western CT. area) Flying Triangle sightings. People got out of their cars on highways and watched huge, metal craft slowly ‘float’ over them (police were witnesses too).

Mexico City ufos were dismissed by debunkers as “balloons” and the Flying Triangles in the Northeast U.S. were dismissed to a few guys, who never really explained their flight path, getting their jollies in their ultra-light aircraft in perfect formation.(Yeah, all the way north of Hartford CT., from the Hudson River Valley of N.Y.).

UFOs haven’t gone away. Whether there are ‘flaps’ or smaller incidents of sightings; debunkers and cynics will always explain them away, as if it’s a compulsive need of theirs.

what about the one on ufo digest! the vidio of the newsman in some other county and the people running back from the craft hanging in the sky just above a bulding then just slowly moving away! was that a joke too.

get real, people. us evil debunkers and skeptics base our beliefs on real proof. flashing lights in the sky are only that; until physical evidence is produced, there is no proof that we are being visited by intelligent life. it’s as simple as that. yes, the phoenix lights were flairs dropped by a military aircraft. it’s been solved and minimal research on the internet will tell you that. yes, the mexican film was, indeed, lights from an oil platform. that case too has been solved. roswell? there’s far more evidence of it being a weather balloon than of it being extra-terrestrial. and billy meier? give me a break. i find this stuff fascinating, and now and then i do see a photo or a video that really does baffle me (though this still does not constitute “proof”) but my interest is always being checked by zealots who would claim that clouds were ufos if they could get away with it.
one more thing, flying fisherman: comparing skeptics to holocaust deniers is irresponsible, uneducated, and inhuman. wake up.
