UFO Sighting Reports

Welcome to another session of UFO Sighting Reports. Here are some of the best reports that have come my way this past week.

Arizona-09-14-05-Gilbert-The witness states: My wife and I were driving home from Scottsdale, Arizona, on Wednesday evening September 14, 2005. It was approximately 8:45 PM, when in the southeast sky I noticed a light, stationary and pulsating. I thought it was very odd to see that sort of light characteristic in the flight path of Sky Harbor Airport. It just hung over the San Tan Mountains in the southeast sky.

I didn't entertain it much, until after I got home. My wife, who was behind me, pulled into our driveway and was very excited-she was yelling if I saw the green lights? She said she saw two craft with green lights and they were a boomerang or V shaped. (NUFORC Note: We spoke via telephone with the husband, and he seemed to us to be sincere, and credible. Connecticut-10-12-While driving my wife to work on the approximate date stated above, we both saw an extremely bright light in the sky, appearing to us as a spotlight. The distance was less than 1 mile and the elevation above ground level appeared to be several hundred feet. I stopped the car to watch it and it suddenly went out. At the time I was thinking a helicopter searchlight was looking for a lost hunter or something, as the area is quite remote.

I drove my wife to work and returned by the same route some 45 minutes later. The road was Skiff Mountain Road in Sharon, Connecticut, opposite Pecks Pond, which will be shown on a map of the area. Stopping in the same spot but with the car pointing in the opposite direction which was North, nothing was visible but I stopped the car and got out a very powerful spotlight of 1 million candlepower. I shined the light to the east, toward where I saw the object earlier. Suddenly and instantly, the light came back on, this time shining in my direction.

It was of extreme brightness, beyond anything I have seen on an aircraft before. I turned my light off but the object kept its light focused on me and began to slowly move to the north. I returned to the car to turn the engine off in my car to better hear if there were rotor or engine sounds. As I went to my car to turn off the engine, I saw my distinct shadow and that of my car so I am certain this spotlight was pointed in my direction. This is an extremely rural area and there were no sounds detectable. I could see some reflection of the light in a pond that was situated between me and the object. I am very familiar with the area as I have hunted deer in that precise area for years. There are no homes, businesses, or installations of any kind in that area.

I cannot say anything definitive about the shape of the object other than that my impression was that it was of a diamond or delta shape. There were no position or navigation lights visible. There was no moon or other artificial light in the area-no street lights or house lights either. The object began accelerating to the north but the light continued to shine in my direction. There was still no noise. Based on the terrain and my familiarity with the area, I would say that it could not have been higher than several hundred feet. My shadow and that of my car was extremely elongated, indicating that its height above terrain was quite low. All of this happened within 3 to 4 minutes or so. Then the acceleration became extreme and the light remained on. Within the next 20 to 30 seconds, it accelerated, without any apparent increase in altitude, to the northeast at an incredible speed and and the light became more and more faint, until it appeared to be extinguished. It traveled 8 to 10 miles to the Northeast in those 20 to 30 seconds. source: www.mufon.com Maryland-09-24-Monday, September 24, 2007, was an absolutely beautiful day with clear blue skies. Bill was driving the car pool on our way home from work and I was reviewing a manuscript for a journal in the passenger seat when at about 3:50 PM I saw a bright glare in the sky through the passenger window. I couldn't really make out the shape from all the glare, but it was an oval glare maybe 30,000 ft in the open sky in front of me. It wasn't very well hidden that's for sure. We were traveling north on Buckeystown Pike about 5 miles south of Frederick, Maryland, when I first saw it. I didn't see a contrail at that time, and I didn't think much of it, thinking that the contrail was there but I had just not seen it. Then we made a left turn onto Mountville Road and I noticed that it wasn't moving. That was hard for me to grasp.

And I still wasn't able to see a contrail. So I put down the paper and fixed my eyes on it to try to detect motion. We drove for another 6 minutes with that thing hanging and shining away until we came to the stoplight at Route 15. To my frustration, it had been out of Bill's view to this point (because of how high it was in the sky and he doesn't want to invest in a convertible) and now it was out of mine. Bill had stopped beside tall trees that blocked the view. It was a long stoplight so I got out of the car and tried to relocate it, but there were too many trees. The stoplight turned green and we crossed Route 15 and we started to drive over the Mountville mountain. I caught a glimpse of it as we crossed Route 15 and lost it again in the trees as we made our way up the mountain.

All this time I failed to see a contrail and it appeared to be fixed in the sky. Then as we approached the crest of the hill, it was nearly overhead on a steep climb leaving two tightly spaced contrail. As we made the top of the hill, it started to steeply dive, still leaving contrail. It flew like a jet on a joy ride. More trees blocked the view as we merged onto 340 West. But as I looked back through the rear window, it seemed to stop over the mountain that we left in the distance (3 miles back) and then change directions 180 degrees retracing its own path while leaving a contrail. Then I lost it over another hill at about 4:10 PM. source: www.mufon.com New Jersey-10-14-While I was going to bed I saw outside my window a large triangular craft with lights at its ends showing me the shape move slowly north over this area, it may have been following the Delaware river north as it was very large. The other aircraft in the air at that time seemed not to be bothered by it as some flew near. Since I did not see the body of this craft and it did not make a sound, and the fact that it had lights at its corners, made me think that it was man made.

I mean why would a craft like this show running lights. I and my wife saw this. Now since I have seen this, I would have loved to see its body. Had I had foresight I would have taken a picture and used an optical device to look at it. source: www.mufon.com Texas-10-10-My name is James Smith, I am 56 years old I live in Huntsville, Texas. Last night Wednesday, 10th of October, my wife and I were sitting outside about 8.50 PM. It was a beautiful clear night when we noticed a very bright fluorescent round object coming from the north to south. It was very low and very large, guessing it must have been about 100 feet long.

The strange thing was that for something that size there was no sound. It was following the flight path from Dallas to Houston. It took only about 6 seconds to cross the sky-I timed the planes that traveled the same distance-it took them about 15 minutes. Other people must have seen it. source: www.ufocasebook.com Utah-10-11-This isn't actually my sighting. This was relayed to me by my sister. She was coming home from her job yesterday between 6 and 6:30 AM (She works the graveyard shift.). As she was listening to the radio (103.3 FM) a number of people were calling in saying they saw a triangular shaped series of lights hovering overhead. They had been hovering for quite some time. My sister said she saw it to the west.

One of the callers on the radio claimed he saw and heard Air National Guard jets going to intercept the object. How much of this is true is unknown to me at this point. I have yet to have a chance to call the P.A.N.G. Air Base and P.D.X. to confirm any of this. I also haven't seen or read anything about this in the local media.
