Fantastic Claims for UFO Video Fall Short

Wednesday February 6, 2008
I don't know if all you folks have seen this before, but if you have not, check out this sterling introduction:

"One of the most significant UFO videos of all time that also shows two extraterrestrials was caught on tape in Istanbul, Turkey. This extraordinary incident took place in a compound in Kumburgaz, Istanbul, and was witnessed by nearly a dozen residents and filmed by a night guard at several different times. The images captured are expected to have a tremendous impact throughout the world and be listed as the most important UFO and extraterrestrial images ever filmed."

Wow! That sounds fantastic. Well, it's not, and I can't believe that anyone would promote something like this, unless they are hoping some foolhardy production company really thinks people are stupid enough to fall for this.

The video is obviously faked-it shows for quite some time an object that is amazingly close, and almost perfectly centered, and of course, clear as a bell. The ET link comes when, for a brief period of time, you see what appears to be an opening in the center of the craft, and 2 figures standing there. I suppose that aliens have the ability to stand outside of their spacecraft, and wave to onlookers while they blast through the sky. Well, wait a minute, I suppose they must have been hovering, because the UFO in the video never went anywhere.

To watch this so-called extraordinary video, go to YouTube.com.

Now, somebody, anybody, comment on this and tell me I am wrong.

(1) KEN says:

I’m not convinced either way but your arguments in favor of it being a fake do not hold up. Of course it’s possible it hovered for quite some time and ‘aliens’ could possibly open the hatch and look outside. If it was hovering why could the image not be centered? The shakey camera adds to it’s credibility, as do the lighting changes and reflextions. File it under ‘Questionable’.

(2) axeman says:

wow dont recon they sound to excited about seeing a ufo i know i have seen some weird things in the sky and still get excited when i see a comet they just went nch nch but there use of special effects was over the top especially the bumpiness of the ufo good on them for the movie making skills

(3) Kevin says:

Come on.
First thing I noticed was the time stamp. Granted, it’s very possible that the clock on the video camera might not have been set correctly, but I found it interesting that it was pitch black at 1 or 2 in the afternoon.
Also, there is absolutely no way to get a scale on this thing. It could have been someone holding up a plastic toy in a dark room 5 feet from the camera for all we know.
And the “aliens’?
I didn’t see anything that could remotely be considered evidence of aliens.
It’s too easy for this to be a hoax.

(4) Kevin says:

I agree, what are the chances that the hatch would just happen to be in the middle, pointing at the guy taking the movie? Not likely. They did try pretty hard to fake it though.

(5) Svengoolie says:

Yes, KEN, but you’re also an idiot that puts apostrophes in the word its, which does not have an apostrophe. So I can’t really go off your logic.

This was a pointless 9 minute video of nothing.

February 7, 2008 at 1:00 am
(6) art Bosman holland says:

Billy . You are right . definitly a fake . A computer image so called dangling on a wire . No propulsion halo . like in some good video’s .
Most good ufo films or foto’s Are hazy because of the propulsion Power Halo. FAKE IT IS

February 7, 2008 at 2:35 am
(7) KEN says:

Dear Svengoolie: YOU are the idiot my uneducated ‘goolie’. Whenever you mean “it is” there IS an apostrophe. It’s known by all learned men and women. You’ve spent too much time in space! That’s (that is) an exclamation mark, in case you don’t (do not) know.

February 7, 2008 at 2:49 am
(8) KEN says:

Ah, Svengoolie. You were commenting on the second ‘it’s’. If you’re that keen on the correct use of English you must really get high blood pressure from reading much of the content on the web. Are you going to make remarks about the guy who wrote comment no. 2? I’m sure that he also just dashed off his comment without thinking it might appear in Science Weekly. Get a life dude!

(9) john l mccowen says:

u f o `s are real and just what u f o means… unidentified flying objects…NOT FLYING SAUCERS, E T`S, ALIENS, SPACE SHIPS… only the most uneducated retards believe that these sightings are anything but the unexplained… however …in most cases they can be explained…

February 8, 2008 at 9:29 am
(10) Chance Metz says:

Some of these can’t be explained and some may never be. Sure some are easy to figure out but not all.

(11) sabrina says:

i am 13 years old and i believe you totally i’v been trying to study ufo and stuff like that for about 2 years in books and internet i am hoping to grow up to be someone that studies ufos for a living

February 8, 2008 at 2:11 pm
(12) Svengoolie says:

Ken, Ken, Ken… You meant “Get a life, dude!” Knowing where commas belong — and where they don’t — is vital to life.

February 8, 2008 at 5:34 pm
(13) BigTBird says:

Svengoolie: Calm down. I’ve known good mathematicians who could not spell worth anything. Did not make them worthless in their fields. Don’t judge someone by the inclusion or absence of an apostrophe!
Having seen something myself that I cannot explain leads me to withhold judgement here. But I am a photographer and look with suspicion on such as this done in darkness which can hide all sorts of defects and fakery.

(14) ray says:

looks totally unconvincing to me too.
check out german ufo’s on you tube.

February 9, 2008 at 11:09 am
(15) Ted says:

Hey Svengoolie you old dude: he didn’t put ‘apostrophes’in ‘its’–he put ONE. No comma was needed in such a short sentence, unless without it the meaning would not be clear. Why did you cut into him over such a simple oversight when others on the page have some really serious problems with spelling and grammar? Cut it out you guys!

(16) Chance metz says:

Let’s get back to the topic at hand, ufo’s. fake or real?

February 9, 2008 at 9:18 pm
(17) Michael says:

Judging by the date and time stamp, it’s fake. It is not dark in Turkey at 4:50 PM in the summer.

February 10, 2008 at 6:28 pm
(18) Chance metz says:

that sure would make it fake. Plus Photoshop can msot often be found to be used to change photos.

February 11, 2008 at 3:40 pm
(19) Bonnie says:

I am surprised no one has commented about all the date changing on this video. I counted at least 3 different dates and times.

February 11, 2008 at 6:12 pm
(20) Griznarf says:

WOW, this video is amazing.
Who ever took the video was obviously trapped in a “Time Displacemnet Portal”, as the time date stamp always jumps when the UFO dissappears and comes back, sometimes for a couple of days, and then they travel back in time near the end of the video.
I gotta get me one of these.

FAKE, FAKE, FAKE

February 11, 2008 at 8:21 pm
(21) carol says:

You guys are more into one-upping one another than talking about the video. You both need to get a life and I don’t that’s do not care a flick how you feel about me so go look for ufo’s together and you will live happily never after.

February 12, 2008 at 4:40 am
(22) Omar says:

My video is going to be in a big conference taking place in Chile this week. People from the military and ufologists are getting together to disscus this matter. All my friend here can watch this video (youtube) search for COTUS99 . THANX AGAIN MR. BILLY B.

(23) noman says:

I wish there had been a translator when the photographer was interviewed. It appears that the camera and lens used were shown and discussed. Would have been nice to hear what he and the interviewer had to say about it all. The shaking of the camera could be explained if the man had bad nerves and his hand holding the camera, was shaking. One of the reasons is that if something swivels around its own axis as it flies through the sky, any windows or openings would appear as horizontal lines, and wouldn’t be from north to south, no matter how faintly this may be. Then again, the object may not have swiveled around its axis, but may have had some other electromagnetic means of retaining its position and velocity as it moved across the sky. However, I still find it difficult to believe that this video depicts a genuine sighting.

Sorry but I left a sentence out so I shall comment again with the sentence in place for those who hate writing mistakes.

(25) Chris Augustin says:

I’m not entirely sure what to think of this video yet. My first instinct was that it was fake. I questioned the date and time as well, but then I was given these videos that explain it.

(26) joe OBrien says:

First of all I wish they had someone else holding the camera besides Michael J. Fox on a day he ran out of meds, Second, Ive heard more excitement ordering a sandwich and third, well I dont know what third is cause I forgot, but I’m sure it was no better than first and second

February 12, 2008 at 1:51 pm
(27) Seqenenra says:

HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! ——- Oh well - they tried. I wouldn’t worry about this hurting any serious UFO research. Along with the truly unexplained there have always been the fakes and the honest mistakes. Now let me go back for another laugh……….

February 12, 2008 at 4:28 pm
(28) UFO Investigator says:

The Comment by joe OBrien about Michael J. Fox was a put down on us with some sort of DISIBILITY. If he had a Disibility other than his disrespect for disabled people.
I myself are disabled but I raised a family, served in the Navy and Army in Vietnam. I also am a UFO investigator that knows the TRUTH and one day soon YOU ALL will know what is out there.
I agree some of the pics and videos are faked, but a few are real. So PLEASE keep your comments about Disabilitys to you nimble mind and hope you never have one.
Keep your eyes on the skys, the truth is comming sooner than you think.

I think the guy from Nam ^^ # 27 has a complex , as to the video ….Please..thats High School stuff. Not even a good effort as far as i’m concerned.

So fake it had no hint of even looking real at all.

February 13, 2008 at 9:21 pm
(31) Sheila says:

In my opinion, the film was too shakey to tell anything. I’m not complaining because I can’t hold a camera still either. I just could not make any sense out of it.

February 14, 2008 at 8:37 am
(32) Chance Metz says:

A lot of people have that problem with shaky cameras, prehaps a tripod would help if you could afford one.

February 17, 2008 at 4:45 pm
(33) Mike H says:

Fake…and not a good one either !!!!

February 18, 2008 at 12:24 am
(34) Maggie says:

I have to say that it is very frustrating to view possible ufo info on these sites these days. It seems to me that on some level we all are interested in learning/viewing new info as it arises, only to find jackasses arguing about grammer. Who cares? The point is we should be talking about the videos, not arguing about shit that has nothing to do with ufo’s. On that note…I have no idea if it is real or not. I don’t think that there’s enough conclusive evidence to say either way.

February 18, 2008 at 6:11 pm
(35) Chance metz says:

i hate those kinds.
