This Week's Sighting Reports

Thursday August 17, 2006
We have some very compelling sighting reports to discuss this week. Two brothers in Arizona were outside watching the skies, seeing the usual airplanes and helicopters as they live near an airport. They soon noticed some lights that seemed to be acting funny. The two lights did not blink as an airplane would, and soon they merged into one light. The light came nearer until it was over their heads; it then suddenly blinked out. A man in New Hampshire saw an object in the clouds on August 13. The object would stop, go backwards, and then forward. It made a very quick turn through the clouds, and disappeared. He reported that the object was cigar-shaped. A man and his girlfriend observed a yellow light in the clouds in New Jersey. Eventually the object turned red, and then disappeared.

One of the most interesting case files reported this week actually occurred in 1986. A Navy man who was on lookout watch on the USS Edenton had a close encounter one night. This unusual sighting was corroborated by other members of the ship's crew. He reported four lights over the ocean which appeared in a square pattern. At first, the thought he was seeing military aircraft. The lights were about a mile from the ship, and about a hundred yards apart. It was a clear night, and he was certain the lights were not conventional running lights. As per his duties, he reported his observation to the bridge. At first, he was laughed off, but then other members of the crew also reported the object. The four objects soon zoomed into the night sky. The sighting was logged into the ship's entry. About a half hour later, the ship's radiation detection system went off. The ship registered 385 roentgens in the period of about one minute; an extremely large amount. The ship's captain was awakened and told of what was happening. This was the first time, the Navy veteran has reported his sighting. Well...that's about it for this week, so until next time, keep your eyes on the skies.
