UFO Sighting ReportsWelcome all, to another session of UFO sighting reports from around the globe. Let's see some of the best reports to come my way recently.
Arizona-04-21-08-We live in Cave Creek and were driving home westbound on Lone Mountain between 7-7:30 PM on Monday evening. We first noticed the object as soon as we turned onto Lone Mountain from Scottsdale Rd. We could see a single bright, white light and red lights, and the object was descending slowly south and east. We kept thinking it was a helicopter, but as we got closer and pulled over to stop and watch, we could clearly see the outline of the object which was a trapezoid, with red lights on each corner, and as it moved at an angle it appeared to be a triangle. It was either floating and silent or moving very slowly making very muffled "whooshing" vacuum-type sounds. We watched until it literally vanished before us. My son took a photo with his cell phone and the time stamp is 7:31 PM. We had been watching it several minutes prior. It was as close to the ground as the distance of flying a kite really high. We were fascinated and in awe, and felt no fear. When we arrived home we called family members to talk about what we just witnessed and were excited to see it on the news that evening. We have been in this area for some time and are intimately familiar with air traffic patterns from the local airports, Deer Valley, Carefree, and Scottsdale. This was not a plane and it was not a helicopter. We are amused by the claims of balloons and flares and while we don't know what it was, we know what is was not, and it was not balloons and flares. No way! How would those items create the distinct shape of a trapezoid and where's the explanation about how it traveled from the Deer Valley area east through the thousands of acres of state land peppered with gigantic above ground electrical towers. We are also a military family and have been around military bases and military aircraft for years, this is unlike anything we've ever seen. We will be watching the skies and hope to post some good pictures for you. source: www.mufon.com California-05-07-08-As I was driving northbound I-5 To eastbound 76, I saw a large triangle glowing red above the clouds. The object was very large and took up a large portion of the sky. It had to be at least a mile in size. After getting home, I looked in the direction of the object and could still see the faint glow and a random rapid flashing like lightning to the right, but no thunder. This was also witnessed by my passenger. source: www.mufon.com South Carolina-05-06-08-I was outside on the porch having coffee and a cigarette. We are about 25 miles from Charlotte airport and see many planes descending for a landing or taking off. I happened to look to the southwest over the roof of the mobile home as something caught my eye. There was one or two elongated, thin cylindrical objects above the trees. It could have been one object due to atmospheric conditions. They were bright as if having the sun reflected off of it or them. They bounced around for the most part for I'd say 20 minutes. The object then sped off and disappeared. It was a clear morning for the most part. source: www.mufon.com Tennessee-05-05-07- At about 9:00 PM last night I stepped outside to smoke my pipe. (I don't smoke in the house.) I do this a couple of times every night, and usually scan the sky as I'm out, so I'm very familiar with what the night sky in my area looks like. Last night as I was smoking, I saw a steady, bright light moving from south to north across the eastern Sky at about 45 degrees. It didn't flash in any way I saw. I had to step off my porch to follow it as it began to pass behind the trees in my yard. I followed it until I lost it behind the ridge line to my North. I had just returned to my porch and was processing what I had seen, trying to decide what it was, when I glanced up and saw a SECOND light, identical to the first and on the same track. I had to move off the porch again to follow this one as well, and again I followed it until I lost it over the same ridge, in the same spot, as the first. These were not like any lights I'm familiar with in our sky. I'm used to seeing planes and aviation lights come and go from Nashville International Airport 40 miles to our north. These were not like any of those I have ever seen. They may have been satellites, although I have seen satellites before in our sky before and these lights I saw were several degrees brighter. And I have never seen satellites moving on a straight south to north path before, and I have never seen two following exactly the same path so close in time and space to each other. source: www.mufon.com Mexico-04-27-08-Reports from Airliner Personnel: Ana Luisa Cid writes: Personnel from the Mexico City International Airport (MCIA) saw an airliner flying close to a UFO. The event occurred on April 27, 2008, at 15:43 hours, when the Aladia Boeing 757-200 commenced rising over the Mexican capital after taking off from the airport in question. According to calculations, the UFO was 38 meters long (estimating that it was half the length of the Boeing 757's fuselage). They added that the object was saucer-shaped, white and remained static at an elevation of 5,000 meters. Weather conditions: clear and sunny. Information on this case was received from researcher Alfonso Salazar. (Translation (c) 2008, S. Corrales, IHU. Special thanks to Ana Luisa Cid) source: INEXPLICATA - The Journal of Hispanic Ufology New Zealand-05-04-08-Christchurch-On Sunday 4th of May I saw what I believe was a UFO in the skies about Christchurch, New Zealand. It was about 7:00 PM, and suddenly I had this urge to look outside up in the sky. I don't know why I did, and it's a very strange feeling to try and describe. As I did, a bright light streaked across the sky directly above my position. It was not a shooting star, there was no tail, and it was moving far too slow, but still too fast for a satellite. It was heading in a westerly direction. I have seen many shooting stars and aircraft in my time and I can say this event gave me the chills. source: http://ufos.about.com That will round it up this week, but be sure to be back next week for more UFO sighting reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies. Thursday May 15, 2008 | permalink | comments (0) Catholic Astronomer Says "OK to Believe in Aliens"From an article in the Vatican newspaper comes a statement from the Reverend Jose Gabriel Funes. This statement gives full approval for a Catholic to believe in aliens. Funes is the top astronomer at the Vatican, and he says that the great vastness of the universe certainly makes it possible that beings other than man may exist. This comes as no surprise, really, as other spokesmen for the Church have made similar statements before.
The main gist of the statement is that this "belief" does not constitute a contradiction with one's faith in God, or the Catholic Church doctrine. We can certainly take this a step further with no problem, and say that anyone who believes in God, can also possess this belief, and not be hypocritical. This has been a point of contention for many years among some Christians, who assert that since the Bible only mentions mankind as existing on planet Earth, it precludes the existence of life elsewhere. Personally, I have not felt that contradiction, but it has often been discussed among Ufologists, UFO students, and skeptics. What do you think? Does a faith in God, and the Bible make it impossible for you to also believe in alien life? Is it a contradiction of your religious belief? Wednesday May 14, 2008 | permalink | comments (5) British Release UFO FilesThe British government is releasing a ton of UFO files to the general public. If this is something that may be of interest to you, get with it, because they are only free for the first month, afterward, there will be a fee. The files are all in the .pdf format, and are quite content
heavy, with at least a couple of them weighing in at over 50 megabytes.
You can find all of the information at British Government Releases UFO Files. The files cover British Ministry of Defence UFO reports from the years of 1978-2002. If you know much about the British history of UFOs, this time span will cover a number of remarkable cases, including the Rendlesham Forest case, Britain's most well-known UFO case file. Check it out, and I hope you have a fast Internet connection. We will be talking more about the files later, as I have time to delve into some of them. I wonder how much of the content is blacked out. There is a very informative audio by Dr. David Clarke, and a video from Nick Pope about the release of the files. Wednesday May 14, 2008 | permalink | comments (3) UFO Photographed over Northern Ireland
Here is a photograph that is bound to raise some controversy between UFO proponents and debunkers. A man named Michael Harkin, from Galliagh, contacted the Derry Journal informing them that he had seen and photographed something unusual in the sky. The image was taken on his cell phone camera on Tuesday, May 6. The photograph clearly shows something unusual flying low over some houses. He was traveling in his car, as you can see from the photograph, on his way to Prehen, in Derry, Northern Ireland. He saw the object, and snapped the photograph that you see here. The unknown object, which will be identified by debunkers, I am sure, as some type of advertising blimp or possibly someone's idea of a good hoax, is clearly visible a a saucer-like UFO. Could this be the real thing, or just another false alarm? (Image © Michael Harkin) Monday May 12, 2008 | permalink | comments (12) UFO Sighting ReportsWelcome to another session of UFO sighting reports. Here are some of the best sightings posted this past week.
Colorado-04-29-08-I was returning from a night of training at my gym, on the way home, about 11:00-11:10 PM. It was about a 1 hour drive. I was heading south on Wadsworth, and as soon as I passed 44th and Wads cross street, a green orb flew southeast over Wadsworth, about 100-200 ft above my car. At first I thought it was green fireworks, because I saw lights behind it, and it looked as if fireworks exploded. But the green orb was moving too fast easterly to be fireworks in the wind. The lights behind it reminded me of a jet or helicopter. The lights following the orb were white in a close V-shape, with a green light on one side and red on the other, I concluded a human vehicle. The light was moving faster than any jet I've ever seen fly in a suburban area, and the jet or helicopter was trying to keep up with it. It was moving so fast I couldn't keep up with them going 40 MPH in my vehicle. I tried to follow them with my eyes, but lost them behind some buildings, and by the time I got to a street that followed their direction, both were gone from my view. I started calling my friends letting them know what I saw. I was freaking out, and didn't know if I should call 911 or police, or what. I have never seen anything fly that low and quick in the city, and no one I called would believe what I just saw. The next morning on the way to work I was heading east on Colfax toward Denver, and I saw two sets of 2 black government helicopters flying close together over Denver, and more north toward Lakewood. After seeing those the next morning, I knew something wasn't right, and it confirmed that something happened the night before, so I decided to report this. source: www.mufon.com Georgia-04-16-08-I was camping out on the Golf course, when I stumbled upon a rock. The rock was particularly glowing in a greenish form. I looked up while holding the rock, and noticed that there was a distinctive light in the sky. While I was watching the light, the light became two lights dancing around in the sky. I have 20-20 vision, so I knew that this could not have been a government aircraft from the nearby Air Force Base. As I watched the lights from about 250 feet away, I noticed that they had suddenly disappeared. This had gone on for about 2 minutes until I saw another huge distinctive triangle-shaped object. It had 3 lights about the size of the first two I saw. One light was on the corner of the triangle as the other ones were too. It was about 500 feet in altitude. It hovered around me with no sound at all for about 2 and a half minutes. It felt like there was something missing as I watched the object. Afterward, I could see my friends were rushing towards me, so I turned around and pointed at the object, but at about that time, the object was gone. source: www.mufon.com Nevada-04-22-08-I was parked, facing east, in front of Forbuss elementary school waiting for my child to get out of school. As I was killing time watching some older kids riding their bikes, a bright, golden light appeared to the east over some mountains, in the direct line that I was already looking. Difficult to say with any certainty, but it was probably about 4-5 miles away. It was extremely bright. It did not look like a reflection at all, but was definitely more of an intense light source. It was brighter than any aircraft-based light that I have ever seen or heard of. It did not appear to be moving at all. I kept my eye on it and reached for my cell phone camera. As the camera was booting up (seemed to take forever), the object simply disappeared. Immediately after the sighting, I messaged my wife and told her I had just seen a UFO. It was a very strange experience. source: www.mufon.com New Hampshire-04-19-08-I went for my usual evening walk. On my way home, I noticed there were 3 lights about a mile off the coast. The 3 lights were a few hundred feet apart from each other, and they just hovered in place maybe 400-500 feet in the air. There was no blinking lights or movement, so I ruled out commercial planes. The lights were yellowish, but seemed to shift to reddish in unison as they brightened. They were hovering in a triangular pattern. Once I realized that they weren't moving, my wife and I stood still and watched as the lights dimmed and brightened in unison for about 20 minutes. After a while, the lights got to their brightest point and suddenly disappeared. They later reappeared in the same exact formation about a mile further to the south. The brightness of the lights was far brighter than any plane I had ever seen. At one point, one of the 3 lights split into 2 bright lights for about 10 seconds or so before becoming one light again. Twenty minutes after the second triangular formation was seen, the lights just dimmed out of sight. I had an odd, eerie feeling in my gut as I knew I was seeing something that was out of the ordinary. When one light started to get bright, the other 2 also brightened. That was the creepiest part of the experience. The weather was drizzly and windy, so there weren't many other people around to witness what I was seeing. source: www.mufon.com Texas-04-28-08-At exactly 9:09 AM in McKinney, Texas, I was standing outside of my shop facing north watching a white Cessna 152 slowly crossing from west to east. Maybe he was going to land at the McKinney airport which was east of me. He was quite low, approximately 1,000 to 1,500 feet high, and maybe a half-mile due north of me. I could clearly see the stripe down the side of the plane. I then noticed an oval shaped object approaching at a high rate of speed. It came right over the top of the Cessna. Maybe 500 to 1,000 over the top of the plane. It was about one third the size of the plane. The object had a fuzzy white look to it, almost like a cloud shaped like a fat tic-tac. It was moving at almost a right angle to the plane, from a north-northeast to a south-southeast. I watched it for perhaps twenty seconds trying to decide if I should get my camera and chance losing sight of it. Wanting to have some evidence to show, I ran inside to get the camera and you guessed it: when I got outside I couldn't find it again. I took some pictures of the sky anyway hoping for something, but got nothing. I was very excited seeing the object that I ran upstairs to file a report, and I got today's date wrong so this is a correction of my original report. That will complete this week's reports, but be sure to check back next week for more UFO sighting reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies. Thursday May 8, 2008 | permalink | comments (1) "Looney Toons" Alien ProposalYou have probably already heard about this: Man Pushes Creation of Panel: Prepare City for Space Aliens. Jeff Peckman had made a strange request of the Denver city council. He wants civil servants and emergency personnel ready... ready for an alien invastion. Poor Jeff has really taken the hits around the Net. He has been described as a "nut," "lunatic," and a "crazy," and even a "fag," because he is 54 years old, single, and lives with his parents. Peckman, it seems, is noted for his off-beat antics when it comes to legislation. He has a history of offering up some off-beat proposals, like his "stress reduction" ordinance, and a "safety through peace" offering.
Now, he has really hit his stride with his desire to pass a law that requires city employees to be educated in preparation for a possible alien invasion. "It is important because if you're driving down the highway and you saw a crash of a small spaceship and a car or a bus full of kids, you really wouldn't know what to do," Peckman said. "Do you wait for the hazardous materials experts to show up because of potential contaminants from another solar system? What do you do? People really don't know." By law, the city must hold a "review and comment" meeting on the alien proposal. Really, when you think about it, maybe it is not really that far fetched. There are government documents that validate similar training programs for emergency personnel, and many cities of our country have similar guidelines in their fire department and police charters. Wouldn't it be something if one day the impossible really happened? Do you think that this type of instruction should be a part of emergency personnel training? Wednesday May 7, 2008 | permalink | comments (5) "We Just Saw a UFO"Here is an excellent sighting report from the state of Washington.
Washington-02-13-08-Driving on Highway 530 west into Silvana, we turned left on Larson Road. Just past the Lutheran church we noticed 2 lights above the hill we were driving towards, about a mile away. As we made our way up the first curve, I said to my 15 year old, "Those lights are strange." "Yes, I noticed them too, down by the church" she said. The lights were closer to us... or we were closer to them. They had not moved. We were thinking it was a plane, or helicopter. I was driving about 2-3 MPH, keeping an eye on the lights/road. They were about 50-100 ft above us. We could only see the very bright lights. They had a "cloud-like" or fog likeness around each light. These lights were huge, guessing no less than 50 ft in diameter. My daughter said, "It doesn't have any wings." I said, "Yeah, I know." As we made the top of the hill and made a left turn, the object was still hovering. It moved (glided) a bit, then back. We stopped in the road to watch it totally. We put down our windows to listen, thinking we would be able to identify the motor. There was no noise, just total silence. I said to my daughter, "It's not making a noise-no engine." We still could not make out a shape, only the oddest, brightest lights. We watched as it began to move off to the south-southeast. The two lights become one light in the back... it was going out of our sight, so we moved to a clear space in the road about 50 feet south. It came into view again. Then as fast as you can process what your are seeing, it jetted south-southeast in a very vertical way. We watched it as it began to look just like a star in the sky... before it eventually disappeared. Because of the way it left, I turned to my daughter and said, "I think we just saw a UFO." She said, "Yeah! I know... cool!" Have you seen a UFO? Tell us about it. Monday May 5, 2008 | permalink | comments (11) UFO Sighting ReportsWelcome, folks, to another session of UFO sightings from around the world. Let's take a look at some of the best reports of this last week.
Arizona-04-24-08-I was sitting on my patio at my apartment on the southeast side of Tucson relaxing. My patio faces towards the south. Something caught my eye and I looked up to the sky to see an object that kind of looked like a satellite moving across the sky from the north to the south. I thought it seemed like a bright star. I watched it for about 10 or 15 seconds, and then it just blinked out and disappeared. I watched the area for a few minutes to see if it would come back on, but it didn't. There weren't any flashing lights, or sounds. I continued to sit on my patio, and about 15 minutes later, I saw what looked like a similar star-type object flying from the south to the north, only this one was further to the west. It was going in a straight line, and getting closer. As it was getting to be closer to being over head, it blinked out like before. It just disappeared and there was no sign of it. Again there were no flashing lights, no sound, just a star-like object. I thought it was strange that if it were a plane, that its lights would just turn off like that. So, I don't know what I saw, I've never seen a satellite blink out, and they don't look as bright as this object did. California-04-09-08-I live in northern California in the mountains. I star gaze all the time, and know the flight patterns for my area. Last night my husband noticed a vert bright white-yellow moving star. (I know Venus, and this was NOT Venus). It made an elliptical orbit, kind of like a "J." Then, it turned into a plane! I'm not kidding. We were watching through binoculars and all the lights dimmed when my husband screamed, "It's shifting." In the next moment all we saw was something resembling a standard aircraft. Very strange. There was no sound and it was not a flight pattern used before. source: www.mufon.com Massachusetts-03-21-08-Around 2 AM, on March 21, 2008, my sister and I were driving on 495 north near the Milford exit and in front of us in the sky appeared a very large ball of light that seemed to have some sort of darker "core." It hung there for a few seconds, and then fell in a slightly wavering line towards the ground. In terms of size, if a normal shooting star (which this is definitely not) was the size of a golf ball, what we saw would be equivalent to a basketball. At the time we were the only car on the highway that we could see. We both immediately fell silent, and after a few more seconds both expressed total astonishment at what we'd seen. We both independently described it as looking as if the object had "popped" into the atmosphere from outer space and then fell to Earth. Texas-04-05-08-My husband and I were outside enjoying the clear night. The stars were very bright. My husband noticed something odd in the sky, and pointed it out to me. He had been watching it for about 5 seconds before I noticed it. We live near Dallas/Ft. Worth airport, so we see and hear the planes flying over our house daily. This was different. Usually the planes are coming in traveling to the south. This object was traveling from south to north. It had no wings or tail. No lights. I almost didn't notice it because it seemed faint, and was only reflecting the light from the ground. Also there was no sound. There were other aircraft in the area, but they were a distance away as we observed this sighting. My husband and I both agreed that it had the shape of a gelcap or cigar shape. It was moving faster than any of the planes in the sky. Faster than those coming in to the airport, and faster than any planes flying over the airport. We have never seen anything like this. I emailed a local TV station, curious if we were the only ones who noticed it. I didn't get a response, so we figured that no one else noticed it. Like I said, it seemed faint and reflecting ground light, so it doesn't surprise me. Any idea what we saw? The whole event lasted maybe 10 seconds before it faded away. I thought maybe it was a meteor or birds: possibly a small aircraft with a malfunction in its light system. But none of that makes sense. We have been curious ever since. We would love to know if there is a logical explanation. source: www.mufon.com Washington-04-11-08-Seattle-I was on the 18th floor of the Hyatt in Bellevue last night, eating my dinner and star watching. All of a sudden, an object flew by in front of my building. Flying slightly higher than the buildings (low) and in front of me, it came and went quickly, but I did have time to get my binoculars locked on to it and it was the strangest thing I have ever looked at. My husband observed it as well with the naked eye and also was fascinated with it. Its lights were very bright. It had lights on 4 sides and one in the middle, and it was kind of oval shaped, and I couldn't tell where the front of the craft was, nor the back, nor the top nor the bottom. I only saw it from one angle as it went by... and if I had to guess, to me it looked like I was seeing it from the bottom (but that would mean it was flying sideways ...). It was a decently large object, not very long-kind of fat-seemed really "mechanical," like the bottom of some huge craft on Star Wars, but it wasn't huge, it was nothing like any kind of plane, and moved quickly by-not "out of this world" quick, but definitely fast. source: www.mufon.com That will close it out for this week, but be sure to check back next week for more sighting reports. Until then, keep your eyes on the skies. Thursday May 1, 2008 | permalink | comments (2) Why is There a UFO Cover Up?Many of us who research UFOs deal with the cover up of UFO information. I am not one who finds conspiracy in everything, but I do have the attitude that our government can and will do anything they want to when it suits their purpose. There have been many attempts by different groups to get through the government block on knowledge, and force the government to release information on UFO cases. So far, there has only been a small step taken.
Many were excited when the Freedom of Information Act was established, but what good does it do when a good bit of the data in a document is blacked out? Have you ever read the FOIA action. Here is a small part of it.
The Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) is the implementation of freedom of information legislation in the United States. It was signed into law by President Lyndon B. Johnson on July 4, 1966 (Amended 2002), and went into effect the following year. This act allows for the full or partial disclosure of previously unreleased information and documents controlled by the U.S. Government. The Act defines agency records subject to disclosure, outlines mandatory disclosure procedures and grants nine exemptions to the statute. It is common knowledge among those interested in UFOs that there is a ton of information being kept locked up, and away from prying eyes. This is what has happened. The data on UFOs is not kept in the same place as financial, geographical, or historic documents, but they have a place all their own. This information is controlled by a small group of individuals who answer to no one, not even the President. Somehow, as time goes by, and members resign or pass away, another trustee takes their place, and the group continues from generation to generation. Believe me, the information sought by die hard Ufologists will never be made known. Of course, we can always hope that someone who can document a major UFO event comes forward, and somehow causes the government to reevaluate their position. But, don't hold your breath. Wednesday April 30, 2008 | permalink | comments (17) Witness of Wales UFO CrashAccording to the Denbighshire Free Press, a very important eyewitness to a UFO event has come forward with important information about the 1974 UFO Crash in the Berwyn Mountains in Wales.
According to the newspaper, the testimony is part of the upcoming Ministry of Defence's release of more UFO files. The January, 23, incident began as multiple witnesses phoned authorities, reporting what they saw as strange formations of green lights in the sky. At exactly 8:38 PM, something crashed into the mountains causing a 4.5 reading on the Richter scale. Initial reports of the incident mentioned a nurse who lived near the scene. She stated that a UFO "the size of the Albert Hall" had hit the mountains. As of now, the report is excluded to those without a paid subscription to the paper, but I'm sure someone will release the entire nurse's interview. I know I am looking forward to seeing how close her current statement matches earlier reports of the crash. UFO crash reports are always suspect, but when you have an eyewitness, that's a different ball game altogether.
